This section
of the alchemy guide contains everything that didn't
really fit into another section. Rather than give each of
them a line on the main menu they have been grouped here for
your reading enjoyment. If you would like to contribute to
this section, please see the Submission
Guide.
Genuinely Useful: these articles provide --more or
less-- useful information of a type that didn't fit n anywhere
else. So here they are.
- History of Alchemy (part I)
- Maintained by Szandor
This Brief History of Alchemy was written to help answer
questions about what changes happened when. It documents
updates to our skill and OSI employee comments on alchemy
and related topics.
- Alchemy Related Bugs -
Various (01/21/00)
A listing of the bugs that plague --or have plagued in the
past-- our noble profession.
- United
Alchemists of Sosoria - Azaroth
This is a link to a multi-shard guild of alchemists modeled
after the United Blacksmiths of Britannia. If you are interested
in joining such a guild you should check them out. [note,
they seem to be out of business at the moment]
Downloads: So far, there is only one thing here, but
hopefully there will be more soon!
- UO Desktop Wallpaper(1024x768)
- Submitted by Batir (06-01-00)
This wallpaper uses graphics from the OSI website, and the
end result is quite stunning. However, Fenwick had to add
a few things -- there wasn't enough "alchemic content".
In addition to the above link, there is a
800x600 version as well. Enjoy!
PotionCalc
v1.1c - Sie Ming (10/05/00)
PotionCalc is a small utility to help alchemists as they
set prices for their potions. It also provides other information
that an alchemist may find useful as well.
Interactive Diversions:
these articles use Javascript, or cgi scripts to make them
more interactive and --one would hope-- more entertaining
as well.
- Are you a mule? -
Sie Ming (08/04/99)
A short test to determine (at least by one set of criteria)
if you are a mule alchemist. The test is graded via JavaScript,
and the results (at the bottom of the test) are updated
as you go.
- Hangman
- Fenwick (01/07/00)
Test your knowledge of alchemy by playing a classic game
of hangman. Can you guess who is being hanged?
Tongue in Cheek Department: these
articles take a lighter look at alchemy and related topics.
They are not meant to be taken seriously --except for the
ones that are.
- Shrines, Luck and Gaining Skill
- Brask (11/03/99)
Step by step instructions on how to make the undocumented
abilities of the Shrines and Luck work for you.
- Alchemists Demand Recycling?
- Minesig (08/11/99)
A short time ago, smiths and tailors received the ability
to change finished goods back into raw materials. Read about
the alchemist community's reaction to this development.
- Any
Given Bank (a sales pitch study) - Sie Ming
(02/17/00)
A collection of sales pitches from around the world, that
you can study, and perhaps adapt for your own use.
