News Members Guild Stone Map OSI Guild List

February 20, 2001

I hope that everyone has enjoyed themselves the past month or so. It looks like it is time to get back to business. Just a reminder. Guild meetings are the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. The 4th Saturday is coming up. I look forward to seeing everyone who can be there. The time is 7 pm ET. The place is the BOW Tower. If you need a lift, let me know so we can make arrangements to get you there. The things on the agenda for Saturday, are getting everyone a set of guild uniforms. They only have to be worn during the Guild meetings, or when we do town events. During excursions, if you wish to wear armor, and you can dye it, it would be nice to have everyone in the same colors. Our agenda for Saturday includes giving out guild uniforms, discussing what we wish to do as a guild, get a guild picture (again) and then do something special. I like to refer to it as a Death Hunt. The reason for this is because we are planning on doing some treasure maps and some fishing nets. I already have 2 fishing nets, and have people collecting treasure maps. I know that we are not fighters, but it is fun to see how badly you can get beaten by the monsters on occasion. There should be enough people there to keep everyone alive (or at least remove the gray haze from your view), and get you a little fame and karma (or lose a lot of the same). I think it should be a fun night. It will give those a chance to experience a treasure hunt who have not had the chance before. It will also give those who have not experienced a fishing net (myself included. I just fish them up, not use them), the chance to see what Kraken are really made of. It promises to be a lot of fun, and I hope to see lots of people there. If you have a boat, you might want to bring it. I think 4 boats would work well. Provided we have enough people to man them.

We need active members. Your support is greatly appreciated.

I hope everyone had a good holiday season. Now that the holiday season is over, it is time to start back to work on expanding BOW on ALL shards. We need help with Pacific. If you can spare some time and money to help there, it would be appreciated. If you don't have a character on Pacific, how about creating 5 and donating money to the project. I know this does not deal specifically with LS, but it's out friends, and I know many of you play multiple shards.

Saturday night we has our shard meeting. Due to circumstances, very few people attended. We have gotten several more inquiries into membership for LS, and I am waiting to hear from them. We have another active supporter. Samuel Wise. Due to already being in another guild, he is unable to be placed on the stone, but he has agreed to help and support us. Thanks Samuel Wise. I have updated the members page. Take a look.
During the meeting we discussed several things. (1). We have decided that we will be adopting a guild uniform and specific colors. Still working on this, but it will happen. The uniform will only have to be worn during guild meetings. Black Pants, Black Half-Apron, Green Shirt, and black footwear. (2) Guild meetings will be held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month at 7pm ET at the BOW tower (Trammel). If you need a rune to the tower, or transportation, contact me, and we can get that taken care of. If you are unable to attend the meetings, I can set up an alternate time and date. (3). After each meeting, we will do some sort of activity. Hunt, gather resources or work skills. Just depends on what people need. (4). Participation in guild meetings is going to be MANDATORY. If you do not attend the meetings or make other arrangements, then you will be moved to a different status. You also will need to send in updates on a monthly basis. If I do not get the updates, your status chages.. (5). I am in the process of trying to get new member packs together. If you have ideas, feel free to share them. This includes basic items as some regs, a spellbook, runebook, runes, food, and tools. Also, for anyone who wants it, mounts will be provided. This includes both horses and ostards.

It is time to start getting things moving again. Please help. We need active members. Your support is greatly appreciated.

I am in the process of updating the members page. I will be removing those people who have not sent in an update or do not respond in the next few weeks. To remain on the members page, you must send in an update every 30 days. Even if it is only to say, nothing has changed. This is being done to keep the pages more up to date, and to let people know that the people listed are still active. If you are on the stone, and have not sent in an update, or an application, you need to do that ASAP. At the end of January, I will be removing those people with whom I have had no contact. It's not something I really want to do, but I don't want a bunch of people listed who do not even play UO any more. It looks to be an exciting year in the making. We just need your help to make it so. If you wish to participate in helping us make BOW a success this year, feel free to offer help.

I apologize for taking so long to do an update, but things have been busy here. Hopefully we have things on the right track. At this point, I don't really expect to do much until after the first of the year,
I would like to recognize the following people for sending in applications to BOW on LS. Samuel Wise, Sven, Karl Landcaster, Keslyn, and Trade Morph. I would also like to thank Beetle T Bailey and Trader Bob for sending in updates. I will get the member page updated shortly.
In the near future, I expect to start planning for an event in the near future. I can use everyone's help with it. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them.

I would also like to welcome Trade Morph as my new Assistant Shardmaster. Be kind to him as he is just getting his feet wet. I look forward to working with him, and his help with the duties that are required of the leaders of BOW.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Take care and drive safely if you are on the road this holiday season.

Just to let everyone know, I will be MIA for at least 1 to 2 weeks due to an upcoming operation. Monday August 14, 2000 @ 1600 hours (4 PM ET) I am scheduled to have another back operation. If there are no complications, I should be back on line and in UO probably the following Monday the 21st. I had the same surgery on May 28th, and had some complications (spinal fluid leakage) and spent an extra 3 days in the hospital. I don't remember much about the hospital visit, nor do I remember the first week I was home. So due to that experience, I don't expect to be up and running for at least a week. The bright side of this is, I get an extra month to get my computer room cleaned ::). During my absence, my two capable assistants will be on hand to help with guild matters. When I get back, I will review all applications and interview the prospects and get them on the stone. So far things are coming along slowly.

Last nights guild meeting was attended by myself and Lamneth with Captain Kool-Aid showing up late. The topics for discussion were: Sign Colors/Design, Guild colors/uniforms, Vender Placement (currently on hold till I get the Vender I placed fixed), and Guild Recruitment. On the first two items, I ask that they think about things and get back with me. As far as Recruitment goes, I won't put anyone else on the stone until such time as I get their application, look it over and can verify their e-mail address. We had a visitor last night who was dying to get on the stone, but until I get his application, no-go. He had a very hard time finding the BOW website.

On a good note, thing continue to progress, although slowly. We have our first active Carpenter placed on the Stone. Drake. He hit 99.0 carpentry last night, and I look forward to his getting GM by Sunday. If anyone out there wishes to provide boards, I will be willing to give 6 gold per board. He will need about 10K boards to finish out his carpentry skills, and then work Magery. Currently it is running him about 1K per .1 of skill gain. I hope that he will be able to get the 17 points of magery needed to reach the magical 75 skill level so he can make pentagrams. That way, we will have one GM Carpenter on hand for the Grand Opening, and can provide Add-On services for those who wish it.

On a down note, none of the people who expressed an interest in BOW and filled out the applications have responded to the calls for help with the grand opening of the Guild and Tower. I am not sure what is up, but so far nothing. I did get one reply about someone already having a Vender house located in Moonglow, but no response from him otherwise. So basically, we need active members. We had 2 more members drop off the stone.

I see good things in store for the LS branch of BOW, and look forward to moving along. So far it looks like we have 4 active members who will participate in activites, and will work toward making BOW on LS a success. I look forward to working with them, and others as they join. As far as keeping the people listed on the members page, and their filling out the form and forgetting about LS, I am in discussions with JDII about removing them. We shall see. I feel if you want to be part of BOW, either you get on the stone, or you are active in the guild.

Just a reminder, Guild meetings are Tuesdays at 8:30 PM ET , in Trammel, and I would like to start seeing more people show up. I will see about getting runes to all the cities and have them in place so that I can open gates for people who do not have transportation there. Each person will get a rune to the Tower, and also to each vending location when we get those setup and running. Donations of regs/scrolls and runes for this purpose would be appreciated.

Hello once again. Time for an update. The Guild Stone has been moved to Trammel, and the Guild Tower has been setup and decorated. We look forward to getting things kicking and people involved. Members of BOW who wish to place a vender will be able to starting Tuesday evening. Two assistant GM's have been brought on board, William and Captain Kool-Aid and I look forward to working with them. I should have everything in place and ready to start assigning vender locations. This way, I know who has what vender, and can notify you when your vender is empty. We have decided to place tables in front of each vender to place a representative item so that people have a good idea what is on a vender with out having to check each one. I for one find that frustrating.

We have decided to have a Guild Tower Grand Opening on September 2nd, starting at 6 PM ET. The tower is located at 102.34N 29.52E. We look forward to seeing everyone who has shown an interest in BOW on LS being there. Currently I am trying to recruit people who can be on hand to help with items, and general questions. Everyone who has and ICQ or and e-mail address has been sent an announcement. So far the support from those who expressed an interested has been non-existant. I was hoping for better. I am trying to recruit other not associated with the guild to be on hand to make Add -On's for those who wish them. For those who wish to have Add-On's made, we are requiring that you bring the correct amount of resources plus 20%. to cover the cost of the Add-On's plus give some resources in case of failure. Currently if anyone wants to provide boards for the grand opening it would be appreciated. I basically depleted my stock of boards for the tower decorations. Any other donations for door prices will be greatly appreciated as well. If you would like to help with the grand opening, it would be greatly appreciated. We will have a bartender on the roof, and food and drink supplies are needed. For those so inclined, you can come and spend the evening in the roof top hot tub that has been installed, or have a meal by candle light, or you can just come and join the festivities.

We have decided that any member of BOW who wishes to place a Vender in the tower may do so. Not only will BOW venders be in the Tower, but arrangements have been made with other house owners to allow BOW Members to place venders in their houses as well. The different houses will be linked via runes so that if a vender is out of stock at one location, another vender at a different location may have the item requested. Initially the plan is to have BOW associated Vender houses all over Trammel especially near each city. Currently we have a Vender house in Moonglow along the western road. Once we have Venders and houses in place, we will start  working on Felucca also.

As you can see, the plans are BIG. In order for us to make BOW successful on LS, we need your help. We currently have 11 members on the stone, but need more people to make this successful. Once again, I ask your help in getting the guild and the grand opening kicked off and going. We need your help. Are you ready to help us meet the challenge.

Just a reminder, if you have not filled out the application, then you need to do so. It is important for us to have a record of you. We are also looking for recruits to help us staff the guild as well as place venders. We want people to get to know the BOW guild and that they can always get what they are looking for at a BOW associated Vender house. Help us out with this.

Hello everyone, and welcome to the latest edition of BOW on LS. It seems that Malocchia is missing in action, and we are unsure of what has happened to him. Seems that all attempts to contact him have met with failure. Due to the problems contacting him, I have been made GM of BOW on LS. I hope to get things moving, as it appeared they would be before the housing rush started (delayed though it was). I am open to suggestions as to what can be done to make this a viable and dynamic Merchant Guild. The location of the Guildstone and Guildhouse has been moved. It will probably be moved 1 more time in the near future. I look forward to getting things moving, and getting more people on the stone. If you have suggestions or questions, feel free to contact me.

Hey all, I've been appointed as the new Shardmaster of Lake Superior. Check out the Guild Stone Map for info on where our new guildstone is located at. I figured since LS has had its 2nd long downtime in 2 days that I would update. If I get my 2 story organized and decorated, I may move the guildhouse to there. Thanks all.

Still nothing going on at this time. I need for each person who I have not talked to yet to contact me. I still need to get by the Guildstone, and see who has been added to the stone. Other issues have kept me busy and away from Guild business as of late, and hopefully that will stop shortly. If you have any questions, especially about being a bowyer feel free to ask. I will help as best I can. Hopefully in the near future, we can see about having a Meeting and meet each other. I look forward to hearing from those of you who I have not heard from yet. Feel free to ICQ me when you get a chance.
