Ok well it has been awhile since this page has been updated, but reall crafting has not been the same as it once was.  To all those that have sent in Join and Update forms and have not gotten a response from me or Warnhack or a Shardmaster, the reason behind this is that there basically are no Shardmasters around anymore except for a few Shards.  Until people step forward to be a Shardmaster all New membership is suspended unless there is a Shardmaster on your Shard.  I do beleive that the only active Shards right now is Catskills, Lake Superior, Atlantic, and Europa.  Also my e-mail address has changed to jdanielsii@rogers.com

Well after not really doing much lately and the state of crafting these days, as you can see by some complaints over at The Crafters Forum, I finally got around to updateing the VDP Prices.  Thanks to everyone that sent in updates to me and keep sending them if you get different numbers then what is listed.  To get to the VDP Price List just click the link above entitled Hints/Tips/Prices and you will see a link for the VDP Prices.

Well I know it has been awhile since the main news was last updated, but there really hasn't been much to report, I am still waiting for the last screenshot of a uniform idea to be e-mailed to me (he knows who he is, hurry up and e-mial it to me would ya :-P)
OK, now for the news.  Warnhack forwarded this e-mail to me that he received from someone at he Markee Dragon site, I went and had a look and it is very exciting news, read for yourself.

Greetings friends, I have some very interesting news for everyone today. I have received an email from a guy that wishes to keep his name silent for personal reason, and fear of being banned. He has written to us several times to give as much information possible that he can. I will refer to him as Mr. X, per his request.
As many of you know, our Rares Database is something that speaks for itself. Our crew works extra hard to assure the information provided is current, accurate, and that there are pictures for all the rares presented. This is a major task, but seems to be a very useful tool for all to enjoy.
Mr. X has provided us with information about a rare that isn’t in our Rares Database , and hasn’t been shown or revealed about anywhere in the Ultima Online Communities. Let us be the first ones to tell you about this Brand New Rare. Do realize that we have very little information as to if this rare is legal or illegal, but we are just simply sharing the information that was provided to us for all to see.
The name of this rare is a “Katapult”, and consists of 12 pieces to complete this massive puzzle. Mr. X claims he had got this from a new Orc Camp that is found near the entrance of Wrong. That’s correct …. 12 Pieces! Mr. X also has stated that he has locked this down and also banked this rare and it didn’t decay or disappear.
Mr. X plays on the Drachenfels, and has stated that this Orc Camp hasn’t spawned in a couple days. Has anyone else seen these Camps on your shards? Does anyone have one of these New Rares? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
In conclusion, I seem to remember Adrick from Battle Vortex who now works for OSI always stating that he wanted and asked for a Katapult. Maybe this is poof of his work, or simply his misplaced item.

Also if you have any ideas for a Guild Uniform please send them into to me, so far we only have 2 to choose from I would like to get more.  Right now you can view the 2 Uniform ideas below.

Here is the latest info on the Taxidermy Kits:
Taxidermy Kits will allow players to use corpses of certain creatures to create trophy deeds, which can be used in houses to generate a wall mounted trophy.
Taxidermy Kits will be found on NPC Tanners, usually found within "leather and hide" shops in towns. Only master and above carpenters can use the kit itself, as those without master or grandmaster status in carpentry will be unable to figure out the kit's workings.
A master carpenter is defined by UO as a player with 90.1 or above base carpentry skill (base skill, visible by clicking "show real" in the skill window).
The player will need the following items to create a trophy:
Taxidermy Kit
10 boards
corpse of either:
Orc
Gorilla
Troll
Brown Bear
Polar Bear
Great Hart
Big Fish (note that "big fish" that have been stacked with other fish will not be useable by the taxidermy kit)

When the player with enough carpentry skill and materials listed above uses the taxidermy kit, they will get a targeting cursor. This cursor is targeted on the corpse of the creature (or big fish) intended to be the trophy. Thus, the player will need to be at the corpse of one of these creatures to successfully use the taxidermy kit. The taxidermy kit will disappear upon successful use and a deed for a trophy will be placed in the player's pack.
The player attempting to place the trophy will need to be a owner or co-owner of the house. The trophy will need to be locked down to prevent decay or other players taking it. Double clicking the trophy if it is not locked down will cause it to return to deed form in the player's backpack.

I got the following off of Stratics Professions Forum.  It was posted by Pfredd Mudd a Moderator of the Carpentry Forum there, he is also known as Hobart a BOW Shardmaster on Chesepeake.
UO:3D Carpentry Interface:
The Alpha UO:3D client does have a new Carpentry & Tailoring interface, much like Tinkering and Smiting do now. The only difference is that the Carpentry interface doesn't have a "Make Last" button, yet. I imagine this will get fixed before release....

Also the question was asked if I do not have the capabilities to play UO with the 3D stuff will I be able to use the above interface.  Pfredd Mudd responded to this by saying "Good Question :-)  For now, the answer is that you will still have the same interface we use now.  However, OSI could still change it....

December 31, 2000 (New Years Eve)

Here we are another year is about to close the door on us again.  Just to reflect it has been a good and bad year for BOW.  The positives are the support stratics has given us, and the many dedicated crafters in Britannia that has helped BOW out as well.  I personally would like to thank Xena at stratics for the continued support, and Warnhack who has taken the reins of BOW as of late, especially when I left UO for a brief period of time he has kept BOW alive.  I would also like to thank tristen of the Atlantic Chapter for keeping BOW strong there while I was gone.  And to all you Shardmasters that are still here, hang in there things will get better for BOW in the new year.
Warnhack and myself are going through each shard one at a time to try and help out the current Shardmasters if there is any on that shard to get things running smoothly again, of coarse this all take time and dedication, and without the support of our members being dedicated to BOW we would not be able to do this.
One of our goals for the new year is to have a BOW presence on every shard even if that shard does not have a Shardmaster.  We are working toward gathering funds on those shards to purchase a house and a guildstone.  Once that is done either myself or Warnhack will have control of the house and guildstone until there is a proper Shardmaster found.  If you would like to help out in anyway please feel free to contact me at jdanielsii@home.com or Warnhack at warnhack@signature-is.com .  We look forward to hearing from you.
From all of us at BOW Have A Safe and Happy New Year.

On another note. We are looking for people who are interested in helping to get BOW placed on all the shards. The goal of this effort is to buy at least a small placed house and a stone on each shard. That way, BOW owns the houses and the stones, and when we get someone to act as Shardmaster on a particular shard, he vote them as Shardmaster. Then if they decide to leave BOW, then we can just transfer the stone to the next Shardmaster. The houses will not be turned over to the Shardmaster as such, due to we do not want them quitting, and then selling or transferring the house. If you are interested in helping with this project, please contact me ASAP. We have come up with a way to do this, and all it will cost you is some time.
We are also in the process of trying to set up a BOW Council to oversee the operations of BOW. If you are interested in participating, or have ideas, feel free to contact me. The Council will probably not be started until after the first of the year, but the housing/stone project needs to be carried forward soonest. I thank you in advance for your help in both matter.

Hello all. I wish to take this time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope the coming year will be good for each of you.
I have finally gotten around to sending the updates to the Shardmasters and hopefully each of you that has sent in an application or update will be contacted soon. Listed below are the people who have sent in applications or updates.

Hello again. Sorry for the long silence, but things have been busy for me personally. Good news!! JD is coming back to help (maybe take the lead again) get BOW moving again. The Christmas season is upon us (I hope we all enjoyed our cheesy UO Christmas gifts), and many people will be traveling and not be here, so things may be a little slow. But on we go.. Here is the updated list of Shardmasters that are in place (and ones we hope to get in place shortly). If your shard is not represented, why not take up the reigns and lead the charge yourself.

That is how we currently stand. Help us out. Our active members (members actually on the stone) is very low. We need to improve this. If you have ideas for improving BOW, please let me know. It takes all of us pulling together to make BOW work and be what is was created for. If you don't like the way something is done, and you don't say anything about it, or you have ideas but then don't put them forth, then you have no reason to complain. If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem. We recently learned that is we talk about things, then we all get a better understanding, right Oceanus?? I hope everyone have a wonderful holiday, and things go well.

Hail everyone. It looks as if things are starting to pick up and move forward. I am still in the process of trying to get confirmations from several of the Shardmasters for BOW. Erin Hunt of AOL Legends Fame has decided to stick with us, and in the near future affiliate BOW with Order. It may add some needed sparks to BOW on AOL. There has been an interest in Pacific and now Hokuto. This is still in works, but looks like it may come about fairly shortly. Also, the Catskills stone has been activate by Bo the Flether, and control of the stone shall be turned over the the permanent Shardmaster shortly. I am looking forward to that. The guildstone for Catskills will be housed at the Village of Edinburgh. This is welcome news, and I am glad to hear it. There was a lot of work done by former BOW members in getting Edinburgh going. It will be somewhat of a home coming to many people. Thanks to Fred Adams for allowing this to happen.

We are slowly moving forward, and getting things accomplished. To all of you who are working hard to get BOW moving forward again. I want to thank you.

I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving, and if you are traveling, that you arrive and return safely at your destinations.

Still in the process of trying to establish which shards are active and have shardmasters. Until that time, we are sort of in limbo on some shards.

These are the shards that have active BOW memberships

Atlantic - BOW- tristen (Active)         Great Lakes - BOW - Slack Jaw (Active)      Lake Superior - B@W - Warnhack (Active)

Chesapeake - BOW - Hobart (Unknown)    Asuka - B*W - Cathedly (Leaving)      Drachenfels - BOW - Griswold (Active)

Oceania - BOW - Chippy (Unknown)         AOL Legends - ??? - Erin Hunt - Changed the name of the Guild to Britanian Order of Woodsmen (Going Order)

Pacific - Interest in this Position     Catskills - Interest in this position

As you can see, there are many shards missing from this list. Several chapters of BOW have disappeared. We need everyone's support so that we can make BOW the premier craftsmen's guild in UO. If you have ideas or suggestions, feel free to let us know.

Short update. Seems that there have been a lot of changes to the shardmaster status for several of the chapters for BOW. I have sent request of all the shardmasters to update me on what is going on. So far, a few have responded. I will start updating in the next couple of days. For those of you who are members of BOW, if you would contact your shardmaster and have them drop me mail, it would be appreciated. For BOW to get back on it's feet, we need active members, and not just names on a page.

Hail All. I have sent all shardmasters ICQ's about the status of their guilds. I am waiting for responses from them. I have heard from the shardmaster of Asuka and was informed they were quitting UO at the end of the month, so it looks like we will need a new leader then. If you play on Asuka, the why not take the reigns and go for it. There are currently openings for Balhae, Catskills, Formosa, Hokuto, Izumo, Seige Perilous, and Yamato. If you play one of these shards and wish to take over as shardmaster for your shard, fill out an application and send it in.

Things are getting cranked up very slowly. Hopefully things will get going, and the shards will become active again. I hope so.

On a better note, since I started updating the pages, I have gotten several new applications, and will be sending them to the shardmasters as soon as I hear from them. I look forward to working with everyone, and making BOW a vibrant organization.

Hail everyone. It looks as if everything is updated and in place, so that updates can now start happening again. We apologize for the long delay that has happened, and will strive to keep the site updated and moving forward again. For this to happen, we need your help. For those of you who are shardmasters, I need you to contact me so that I know you are still active, and I can send you what applications I have. For those of you who are members, I need you to contact your shardmasters and let them know that they should contact me.
Due to recent events, we have had some minor setbacks, and hopefully we are beyond those. For BOW to continue to serve the UO community, we need everyone's help. We need suggestions! what you like or don't like about the your chosen professions. For those of you who are writers, what do you think about the addition of stories about your adventures?

To everyone in the BOW community, I would like to say it is good to be back. Now lets go make this the best known organization in all of UO.
