| If you are a new member seeking admittance into BOW you
must agree to the following rules. If you are currently a member
of BOW and would just like to update you current info please scroll down
and choose your shard. Please note when you fill out the Join form
for your specific shard you are agreeing to, follow and abide by the following
rules.
1. Be willing to help others.
2. Do NOT act like a jerk. Treat others
the way you would like to be treated.
3. Participate in events/meetings.
4. Update your Shardmaster of your current status
at least once a month. This can be done through sending in an update
form of your current skill levels.
The next set of rules are if you are interested in becoming
the Shardmaster or Assistant Shardmaster for BOW on your Shard. These rules are very important as you are applying for a role
of leadership within BOW. By stating in your join form that you would
like to be Shardmaster or Assistant Shardmaster you are also
agreeing to follow and abide by the following rules.
Shardmaster requirements:
The position of Shardmaster is a great responsibility.
Not only does it have special meaning due to being part of a Guild, but
it has special meaning because you are part of an organization that is
across all of UO. Due to the nature of these types of organizations, it
requires more responsibilities and requirements that being the guildmaster
of a guild on a single shard. Due to the hard work by many people (mainly
Jack Daniels II), BOW is known across all of UO, and has gotten recognition
from many sources. This recognition has allowed BOW to become part of the
Stratics network. No small accomplishment.
The position of Shardmaster also requires you to have
extensive knowledge and achievement in the crafting skills. The reason
for this, is you are the leader on your shard and others will be looking
to you for advice and help on gaining skills. Not only is it a rewarding
position, but it’s also a frustrating one. Expect to have almost no participation
on that even you spent 2 months planning and preparing for. Expect low
participation and low guild member participation. One of the main responsibilities
is to be a leader that everyone in the guild can look up to. It is your
responsibility to set the example that others will follow. It is your responsibility
to set the tone of the guild. If there are problems with guild members,
it is your responsibility to sort through the stories and take the appropriate
action. If you want the position just because you think it is neat to have
the title of Shardmaster, and there are no responsibilities, and you can
just get the title and that is all there is to it. Think again. If we get
complaints about you and your not doing your job, steps will be taken to
correct the situation. If that means getting you replace, then so be it.
That is a step of last resort. One we do not want to take.
After reading the following rules/requirements, if you
are still interested in the position, then feel free to contact Warnhack
or JD about proceeding further. By filling out a join form stating you would like to be Shardmaster or Assistant Shardmaster, and we will instruct
you further.
1. Have at least 2 GM craft skills with a third
skill at the master (90+) level.
2. Be able to place the stone (requires a house),
or have the stone placed and then take control over the stone once it has
been placed. If you do not know how to accomplish this, ask and we will
let you know how to do it.
3. Hold guild meetings at least once a month.
Weekly is the preferred frequency.
4. You will contact each person who sends in
a join/update form for your shard. It is your responsibility to keep a
list of people on your guild stone and keep in touch with them. It is your
responsibility to determine if the person should be allowed to join BOW
and be placed on the stone. Just because someone took the time to fill
out and send in a join form, does not mean they are the type of person
who is suited to being in BOW. It is your responsibility as a Shardmaster
to make sure you only get the highest quality people in BOW.
5. Weekly status reports will be sent to Warnhack
or Jack Daniels II. It does not have to be anything big, but you must make
contact. It can even be an ICQ that says you are alive and things are still
the same. Once you have been approved to be Shardmaster of your shard,
you will be told which Guildmaster you have to report, this person will
either be Jack Daniels II or Warnhack.
6. It is your responsibility to keep your section
of the website updated. This includes the news pages, members pages and
any other pages associated with your section of the website. If you do
not know how to code webpages, you will need to send in what you want placed
on the pages to Warnhack or JD, or update the pages and send them to Warnhack
or JD to be uploaded to the website. Due to security concerns, no one but
Warnhack and JD will be allowed to upload pages directly to the website.
Directions will be given about this after you have been allowed to assume
the position of Shardmaster.
7. You are required to spend at least 2 hours
per week in the role as Shardmaster. This allows you to recruit, help others
in your Guild, and basically be there for others who might have questions
about the craft skills.
8. You must be willing to help others. This
can be an inconvenience at times. It goes with the territory.
9. Be active on the message board. Let us know
what is going on, on your shard.
10. Do a thorough screening of prospective members
of BOW. Before a person is allowed into BOW, they must fill out an application.
If they cannot fill out an application, do you really want them as part
of your guild?
11. It is your responsibility to set the example
for the behavior expected in your guild. If some one acts like a jerk,
and will not correct their behavior, it is your responsibility to remove
them from the guild. Killing other guild members is forbidden. If it happens
once, you talk to both parties. If they do it again, they need to be removed
from the guild. It is better to have a small guild of players who get along
well than a large guild where there are lots of problems between players.
12. Remember, this is a guild dedicated to the
crafting arts. The emphasis is on helping crafts people better their skills.
BOW does not strictly adhere to the Rules of Acquisition, but we do encourage
character to be profitable. A profitable character is a happy character.
13. You need to keep in touch with your people.
At least once a week is a good rule of thumb. This can be done at the weekly
guild meetings. You should have the ICQ number of each member of your guild.
It is the preferred way to keep in touch with each other.
14. It is your responsibility to keep your section
of the website as up to date as possible. Post those notices about the
events you are holding.
15. Provide a written reason as to why you want
the position of Shardmaster, and why we should allow you to assume that
position.
16. You must be willing and capable of following
instructions given to you. You must help others follow the directions also.
17. You agree to abide by the rules as set forth
in this document as well as rules instated as time goes on to handle different
situations that arise. In other words, you must also be flexible.
18. You must agree to pass on to the next Shardmaster,
the stone when/if you are unable to continue in the capacity of Shardmaster.
You agree to turn over any guild assets when you turn over the stone.
19. Attend if possible any Shardmaster meetings
or functions.
20. You must understand what you have just read,
and understand these are the minimum requirements. |
