"Free me of only half this affliction and I shall be a complete man. You must think of me as being as happy as it is possible to be on this earth-not unhappy. No! I cannot endure it. I will seize fate by the throat. It will not wholly conquer me! Oh, how beautiful it is to live and live a thousand times over." -Beethoven

A Bard's Tail

Let me tell ye a small tale
'bout a bard in a bind,
on the road Trinsic bound
with home on his mind,
down the road he ran
and what did he find ?

A monster on the left...
and a monster up behind!

A Mage cried "Halt!"
his eyes upon the road,
"Watch out up ahead,
red eyes and big toed,
monsters are about my lad,
they're wanting folk for food!"

A monster on the left...
and a monster up behind!

Did he listen, did that bard?
of course not -- silly fool
he laughed at the Mage,
"I've fought myself a ghoul!
Why nothing in this woods
will break my huntsman's cool"

A monster on the left...
and a monster up behind!

Not a minute up the road
did that bard walk to see,
beside a big flat rock
two trolls by a tree
an Ogre sat beside
his bellow "Ah FOOD. FOR ME!"

A monster on the left...
and a monster up behind!

Madly playing the bard ran
strumming harp with trembling hand,
round and round the trolls he flew
raising dust and singing too
sneezing coughing, the trolls did rage
hitting each other in their haste

A monster on the left...
and a monster up behind!

The ogre joined the melee too
his club hitting one, then hitting two
all the monsters fought that day
and ate no bards in the frey
as the battle roamed the road, adrift,
the bard flew off, that lucky stiff!

A monster on the left...
and a monster up behind!

So if thee wander this land too proud
and listen not to warnings aloud,
prepare thy escape and be not cowed
by monsters, mages, or music loud

An Ogre steak on the left...
and a troll steak up behind!
