"Free me of only half this affliction and I shall be a complete man. You must think of me as being as happy as it is possible to be on this earth-not unhappy. No! I cannot endure it. I will seize fate by the throat. It will not wholly conquer me! Oh, how beautiful it is to live and live a thousand times over." -Beethoven

May 1999, First CBA Meeting Minutes

First let me say it was an awesome meeting.... great folks and tons of fun I kept loosing connection so if i leave anything out of these notes or get it wrong....I'm sure Nimue or Glamdril can fill in or correct it.

Also please any one who could not attend please comment and add your thoughts to these....these are not written in stone but a first draft of guild ideas - we all have input.

1) Requirements: all attending agreed no requirements to enter guild - all entertianing professions are welcome at any skill level (poets, actors, etc.) - and also friends of bards could join if they so wish.... so those who wished to be bard bait (that is meant affectionately), or groupies can also join.

2) No fees: this was agreed by everyone...but donations of all kinds would be welcome, and of course all members should contribute what they can if the guild is holding an event.

3) The guild would not judge pk's or thieves....but killing of newbies would NOT be alllowed. This was a much heated debate but I think we all came to the same conclusions in the end. The decision of whether a "red" member would be allowed to continue in the guild would be made by the shardmaster on a case by case basis. The guild itself would be neutral...i.e., if the person's conduct was causing harm to other members a decision would have to be made.

4)Uniforms... i lost connection for long time for this one....but i am pretty sure we all agreed no uniforms (no one wanted the prep school or military look) however, for certain events a guild on a particular shard may decide to dress alike for that event.

5) Guild Struture: this is just an outline and suggestion...not a requirment... of the duties that need to be covered and which positions may come under them when running a guild and how one may go about it - it will vary from shard to shard depending on size and needs - a) Shardmaster: would also be treasurer (hold the guild gold); would sit on the council for all-shards; handle diplomacy w/ other guilds. shardmaster would not be allowed to PK.

NOTE: shards that do have a guildstone could be represented at all-shards meetings by individuals so there concerns and ideas can also be heard and contribute to the barding profession. Bards on shards who wish not to join the guild...also have a voice...and could either have the guild representative take the ideas to the meeting... or speak with all-shard leader about attending themselves.

b) Historian: keep records of membership\\allies, events, screenshots, post on webpage, write for posts on uoss.stractics, store guild supplies, researchs ideas for events.
c) Public relations: advertise events, recruit (lost connection during this one...so not sure what else got listed under here.)
d) Events organizer: getting a committe together to hold event, confirm with members time and date, coordinate supplies and prizes needed.
e) Civil officer --- this was a much heated discussion... and the duties under this on can fall to PR or Shardmaster as well...basically the person who would confirm or investigate complaints about guild members, mediate disputes between members, and also recruiting ....lost connection again...so i may have missed some for this one.

All-shard leadership position was discussed and nominations asked for.... all in attendance agreed Nimue need a great job on the meeting and the work she has done so far for the guild...and she got elected If there are any strong objections to this or if others want to be considered for the position please let us know.

Nimue will be on an interenship this summer... email avialable but not UO so she can be contacted, just not in game...for the two months she is not in UO...those present elected myself and Glamdril as vice presidents to take care of all-shards business till Nimue returns.

After the meeting a fun party was held...great food and drink provided by Nimue...and a preview of what i think could be an annual event -- the naked bard parade ****giggles*****
