Magical Bubba
The LeGiOn Circus
I was walking in the secret valley of the insane mage looking
for some adventure. Often a victim will show up to buy reagents
and I would rob him of his possessions. If he was so impolite to
as to refuse to give a donation to the brotherhood, then I would
steal his soul.
I began to track for a victim when I noticed the footsteps of
Lord Xavori, a rather infamous rogue of the north. I had heard
many tales of his skill with the warfork, and I approached
cautiously.
He stood near the front of the insane mages house and he
looked up cautiously as I approached. No doubt he had heard of
the tales of the misdeeds of the Insidious Brotherhood.
"Magical Bubba," he said, nodding his head warily.
"I have heard of thee."
"And I of thee, Xavori," I replied, bowing.
We stood exchanging information about some common enemies when
he said, "What is the secret mage cave?" I looked up
and smiled, for the devilish bastard had snooped into my pack. He
was speaking of the title of my recall rune.
"That took courage," I said all the while using my
skills to snoop his pack as well. "This is the secret mage
cave."
"What took courage?" He asked innocently, but I
noticed a sly grin.
Normally I would burn a snooping thief where he stood, but
this was no ordinary thief.
Soon two more members of my guild showed up: L'kbreth and
Gorax. We seemed to get along quite well, although there was a
moment of tension between the dark rogue and my brother L'kbreth.
I found the whole thing amusing as they were both cocky and full
of bravado.
I finally decided to cut the talks short in the hopes we could
find some adventure. "There is a circus in town,
Xavori," I said, adjusting my green hat. "Would you
like to come?"
"A circus?" he asked, and I explained of a guild
called LeGiOn that had built a castle to the southwest of
Trinsic. My guild thought of them as clowns and buffoons and
often prayed upon them like rabbits. Our feud had been going on
for months. LeGiOn was a very disorganized guild, most members
were even aware that we existed since we often killed witnesses.
It is always much easier to just kill witnesses, saves you
trouble in the end.
"A circus eh?" Xavori replied. "I dislike
clowns."
I had to laugh at that and I pulled a rune from my pack. I
opened a moongate and we gated to just
northwest of the LeGiOn castle.
We stepped to the front of the castle and Gorax and I began to
taunt the denizens. I noticed the only
fresh tracks were that of Halzon-Legion and Punisher-Legion. We
soon realized that they would never come out. We were about to
give up when a man on horseback approached.
Gorax and I politely requested that the knave donate to the
brotherhood but he cried, "Sonsofbitches!" and tried to
flee.
Gorax managed to blast him with a fireball but the rider,
whose name was Deamonite, managed to flee. Imagine my shock, when
Xavori sprinted at the man with incredible speed and knocked him
from the horse.
"I thought that thy prowess with the fork was
exaggerated, Xavori," I commented and he informed me that
the item was not even magical.
"Let us pray," L'kbreth said, as Gorax and I spoke
some holy words over the body. It was my hope that
Deamonite soul would seek to be honorable such as I.
I then lit a fire over his corpse and said to Xavori,
"Put thy fork in his ass and turn him over, he's done."
Dark humor always made me feel so much better. We then cut the
body into pieces and retrieved the head. Don't ask.
We returned to the castle and proceeded to taunt them. Gorax
suggested that we go to Buccaneer's Den as we always had fun
there. I agreed, but then Xavori suggested we hide.
I opened the gate and Gorax and Gorax gated a short distance
away while Xavori and I hid.
We hoped that they would open the castle. As morning
approached, we still remained hidden and the LeGiOn had still not
ventured outside.
A thief walked up to the castle gates and threatened to blow
the whole plan. He had obviously followed my tracks. The thief's
name was Coombaya and he wore nothing but a death robe and a hat
I had thrown away the evening before. The hat had lice.
"Why are you hiding, Bubbles?" the thief replied,
not realizing that I was dangerously close to blasting him where
he stood.
I was about to kill him when a Legion member named Metallica
walked around the front of the castle and casted a firewall in
the hope that it would burn us.
Xavori leapt from his hiding spot, slamming his war fork into
the armored Legion member with a clang. Realizing that hiding was
futile I too revealed myself and threw a fireball at the poor
fool.
Then something shocking happened. Punisher-Legion opened the
front door of the castle! Saying a prayer to my god at our luck
Xavori and I leapt through the castle doors. I closed it behind
me, locking out the numerous Legion members that had just shown
up.
We then ran upstairs looting as we looked around. Xavori ran
back downstairs, and I heard the clanging of metal upon metal. I
rushed back down the stairs to see Xavori fighting viciously with
Halzon-Legion. Halzon saw me and tried to run to the door but
I tossed a few fireballs in his direction and he fell over, his
body cooked to a fine red tinge.
"OoOoOoOoOo," Halzon's ghost said, and I told him to
shutup and that it was our castle.
I then asked Xavori to join me at the top of the castle to
taunt the poor ignorant fools. My how good it felt as they stood
below us, red with embarrassment an anger.
Soon, a member showed up to let the rest of the guild in and
Xavori and I hid in the meeting hall as five or six Legions
stormed up the stairs.
They found Xavori first, flushing him out with fire. They then
began to cast lightning and Xavori had little choice but to
recall out.
They had no idea where I was and proceeded to look on the roof
and the first floor before returning to the floor where I hid.
They soon found my hiding spot and I recalled back to my house
where my good friend Gorax was waiting for me. Gorax told me that
he had managed to
wound many of them but had to flee when he had run out of
reagents.
I sighed heavily.
Between Xavori and I we had managed to steal everything that
was worth taking. It would take time for the Legion to recover.
All in all it was a successful venture, and the Insidious
Brotherhood hopes to same day team up again with the Dark rogue
Xavori. Twas a great adventure.
