Shirak
Newbie Misfortune
My story begins while waiting for "Prayers" to be
answered. A situation arose while I was in Britain the other
night. And after calling to the higher powers, I then hid under a
tree to catch some needed rest. Thinking to myself that perhaps a
short nap would seemingly bring my answer from the heavens more
hastily. But before I could doze off, I spotted a very young
rogue stalking a Noble within my reach. I could tell from his
eyes, he was planning his strike soon. I sat and watched for a
few moments as he continually missed his mark. Fumbling around
through the Noble's robe. T'would almost seem that he intending
to make a criminal reputation for himself. I watched and chuckled
to myself as I saw his repeated unfruitful attempts.
Still hidden I spoke, "Thou should be more careful young
rogue...."
" Who is there?" he inquired....
" Tis not of thy concern " I replied...
" whatever..." he exclaimed.
I continued to watch his feeble attempts, not reporting him to
British's henchmen. I thought to myself that perhaps I should
train this boy, and he might learn something from watching
someone obviously more skilled. The thought was quickly
intercepted by a more probable thought of Guards with swinging
Halberds, and my bloody corpse laying beneath. I was enjoying the
show actually.
Then, again I spoke, " Me thinks thou should pursue
another profession."
" Where are you damn it?" , "How come I cant
see you ?" He continued to ask.
again I replied, " Perhaps thy eyesight is far too poor
for such a demanding profession "
" Can you help me?"," how do I get
better?" he quickly asked. His inquiries were coming at
feverish paces.
" Perhaps, but thou needs much training indeed..." I
replied. "Can thou afford my training?"
" Sure, I have 100 gold." He gloated. "But
where are you?", " Let me see you!" , he demanded.
" Nay, not yet young one, in time, thou must learn
patients first." I explained.
" Why do you talk like that " , " Your not an
NPC are you?" he asked.....
I became outraged at his thoughts! My motives were quickly
changing. Now, I lost all pity for the poor thief's lack of
abilities, as well as respect! He was now quite annoying, and
demanded I help him. What nerve of today's youth. This led to
believing this rouge needed a lesson in respect.
" Does thou wish to learn how to pick thy Noble's
pockets?" I asked.....
" YEAH!" he exclaimed with passion.
" Then do as I say, and her rewards will be yours."
I said.
I noticed the Noble citizen standing almost next to me under
this same tree where I was resting.
" Thou has a better chance when thy victim is under trees
" I explained.... " Attempt your stealthy skills now ,
my friend!"
Sure enough he stepped next to me, and attempted his pilfer.
Seeing him fail again, I called for thy guards. Quickly they came
and dispatched this criminals life. Quickly I searched his body,
and was pleased to find the 100 coin of which he spoke. As well
as a few picks I could use. The rest I left on his corpse. But
soon, hearing the guards ruthless attack, the vultures came by
the dozens. I thought about the wonderful opportunity of pockets
in my immediate vicinity. As well as the fact that absolutely
nobody even knew I was here. But finally controlled myself
knowing the guard might be able to see me even as I remained
hidden.
You know what?, I never did get my "prayers"
answered. Perhaps this was answer I sought.....perhaps.....
