Warik
Newbie Plight
Eager to make money off of the bone
armor I recently stole, I headed for the Trinsic armourer
planning to fence the bone armor to a foolish newbie.
"Bone armor for sale! Adds 20 AR!" I yelled at the
entrance to the armor store.
"Hey, I want to buy it" I turned into the direction of
the voice and checked his paperdoll... a neophyte, bingo.
"The price is 150 gold pieces."
"Why so much???"
"This piece of armor is superior to any platemail, it is
also indestructable."
"Wow, can I try it on before I buy it?"
"With 150gp serving as collateral, you may."
The newbie quickly handed me 150gp, I quickly handed him the bone
armor.
"I'm too weak to wear it" he said.
"How strong are you?" I asked.
"I have 37 strength"
"You must become slightly stronger before being able to wear
that piece of armor."
"I changed my mind, I dont want it."
At that time, I felt like laughing and leaving, but that would
not make a good, funny story, so I decided to continue my
negotiation with the newbie. I reached into my bag and placed a
copper key into my main backpack, and began my evil scheme.
"I do not wish to return thy gold, I will however, trade
thee my ship for thy bone armor."
"A ship? Liar"
"Nay friend, I lie not."
"Ok, then where is it"
"My vessel is on the northeast side of this town, I hide it
there to prevent uninvited guests from boarding it."
"Take me to it"
"Nay, thou must give thy armor and accept my key, for if
thou refuses to trade once we arrive, my journey would have been
in vain."
"Fine I'll trade, but there is a but"
"Yes?"
"If you screw me over, I will have you on every shitlist
known to man"
I thought about this, then a fraction of a second later I
disregarded his comment.
"That would be quite unfortunate."
"Yea, I'll have [insert initials representing guilds I've
never heard of here] on your ass."
"Aye, worry not friend."
As I saw the brown and white armor transfer into my backpack, I
laughed into the telephone receiver, and received a laugh back
from my friend who was listening to me relay the entire
conversation to him.
"Ok, where's the ship"
"I will now quote a famous rogue."
"Huh?"
"Evil will always win, because Good is dumb." [
Wonder which rogue he meant? *grin* -- and it's from the movie Space
Balls ]
I then turned around, and walked away. Only to be pursued and
bothered by him until he grew tired of his futile effort to get
my bone armor, or his money back.
