It was late, about 2:30 am and I was meandering about the baja server as is my wont after hours, when a housing call came in.
Now, as most of the counselors realize Im sure housing calls are very common now, and because there is near no space left (if any) we have all become fairly good at spoting the problems preventing placement with an area in a short time.

I arrived and we exchanged greetings and I then went about quickly showing him the things in the way of his house placement. We talked a bit more, and as I was clearing the call, and telling him that the dev team is aware of the housing space problem and are considering it, two players appeared on the north side of the screen,..running towards us. For some reason, I immediately knew they were pks inspite of their names being blue.

I could tell by the questions my caller had asked that it was likely that he wasnt a serious UO vet and would quickly fall prey to these two. But I had cleared the call, and could do nothing.
I stood there feeling like an useless ass while they chased him off screen, knowing that he was about to lose the sum of a great deal of work (house deed), very fast.

I stood there for a short time cursing myself for clearing the call, then accepting that I could do nothing, went back to the guild hall.

After about 10 minutes the player called back. When I got to him, he was a ghost and, very angry. He accused me of being friends with the blue pkers and having informed them via icq, that they could get an easy kill out of him.

I dont really blame him for being as angry as he was, but I was a little shocked that he would think that I had master minded his UO downfall. I tried to explain that we arent allowed to play the shards we council on, but he would have none of it. I told him that I would have moved him if I could have, inspite of it being against the rules for me to do so. He then told me he was quiting the game, and logged out.

I dont know if he actually quit or not, most dont, but I no longer clear housing calls before I leave.

All in all, it was a bad day.
