There will be a period of discovery for each side to interview people who might have seen or heard something. If I missed anyone or used a wrong character name or any other mistake then please comment in this thread. Also, Elias Ashmore will be taking further registrations at the Spring Bazaar this Saturday between 4:40 and 5:20 PM at stall #2 (for which we still have quite a few stalls open!). Stated charges 1) Theft of royal treasure 2) Inciting hatred and violence 3) Conspiring against the crown Possible outcomes of the trial 1) Stripping the royal recognition of independence of Dark Tower and Ravenshire 2) Imprisonment and/or fines 3) Censure Notes 1) We are very much open to ideas and suggestions related to this. Feel free to send us any input you might have but do not expect a response as we would not want to ruin any surprises. Many of you have already sent us some good ideas and those are much appreciated. 2) We have still not decided on the position of the judge. Corporal Brackus Honors Guardsman Calyndrell

Official Decree by Corporal Brackus Let it be known unto all throughout the realm that for the remainder of this evening, Saturday, March 6, 2010,  including the event taking place at the Castle this evening with Queen Dawn, guardsman Calyndrell is hereby acting as "Honorary" Corporal Calyndrell in Corporal Brackus' place. Brackus will assume the rank of a regular town guard for tonight's event and ALL orders will be given by Corporal Calyndrell instead.  NOTE: Corporal Brackus has bestowed this honor upon Guardsman Calyndrell as Calyndrell will be unable to defend Britain for several months as he is soon to be deployed to serve his country in the foreign land of Afghanistan. ____________________________________ God speed, Calyndrell. RP NEWS - The Yattering and Bom Practice With The Town Guards (screenshot intensive)

Standard Recruit Test Practice The Town Guards held SRT practice on the evening of Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Goblins the Yattering and Bom Evilstench followed the guards from Britain to the guards' practice area at the Bagball Arena near Luna. Rather then further exacerbate the volatile relationship that currently exists between the guards and the goblins, Corporal Brackus ordered the guards to let the two goblins participate in the practice.  One of the commands the guards practiced was 'Present Role', which is used when the Town Guards are being inspected by an official. It is customary for the guards to respond to the command with their rank, name, and role within the guards: Guard Alfred gave the standard reply.   The Corporal's dismay, The Yattering replied with loo ten it, and Bom Evilstench declared she is a 'pwincess'. ____________ During inspections, the guards are also asked to Present Arms, typically a melee weapon or spellbook. The Yattering, displayed the goblins weapon of choice by showing teeth. ____________ The guards also practice battle tactics When the command  Present Fortification! is given, the guards each stack two crates in front of themselves to block any attackers. Not anticipating the goblins would be in attendance without crates, extra crates were not available, so the goblins didn't participate in the execution of that order. Rather, they set the crates on fire and discussed why they weren't participating in the drill.  ____________ Then came the marching drill ...The goblins declared they already knew how to walk, and found it a bit silly the guards would need to learn walking.  ____________ The command Stand Down! is typically given so the guards may stand at ease while being addressed by a superior officer or official. The goblins either slouched or stood 'at easy'. ____________ When the guards are being evaluated by an visiting official or dignitary, the Corporal will ask, “Are there any formations you wish to evaluate us on? The visitor sometimes responds they would like to see the “Wedge Formation” and “Cannae Formation” executed, so the guards practice both. While the Corporal was explaining the purpose of the combat formations, the Yattering and Bom were discussing what they had observed thus far: "walking and standgins at easeings and playings with kiddie toys." When Corporal Brackus announced the first formation the guards would execute would be the Wedge, the goblins immediately misunderstood and started discussing cheese. However, when the maneuver was executed, Bom and the Yattering fell right into formation! ____________ The Cannae Formation involves the guards moving to a single line, with the center positions dropping back inviting the enemy to attack the center allowing for encirclement of the enemy. The goblins were very exuberant and promptly displayed their goblin instincts once the Corporal was surrounded. Corporal Brackus then invited spectator Mama Faith to participate in a practice formation. Ayassa cheered as Mama Faith got ready ... but the practice didn't go quite as planned! No one was injured, and the guards gave Mama Faith a big round of applause for being such a good sport. ____________ The guards also practice tactical orders such as making an arrest. The guards were ordered to surround and arrest the goblins. But, the goblins had other ideas and did what goblins do when being chased ... they disappeared, leaving the guards empty handed and a bit red-faced. ____________ Then came the fire practice. Typically a small fire is started, and the guards extinguish it. At this practice, the Yattering and Bom got a bit over exuberant with starting fires, forgetting the goal was to put the fire out!     ____________ When an inspection is coming to a close, the Corporal will ask the visiting dignitary or office if there are any additional commands they would like to see executed. The Yattering and Bom had an order they would like to add to the guards standard instructions. ____________ Before Corporal Brackus dismissed the guards, he lead them in a chant of the Town Guards' creed, and the two goblins responded as best they could: Duty, Loyalty, Respect Selflessness, Discipline Honor, Courage   Town Guards! BRPA Sunday Night Taming Recap for February 28, Schedule For March 7

Baja Taming Hour sponsored by The Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance Recap For February 28, 2010, by hostess Girl Scout Edith [BS1] It was a fun night with the Girl Scouts hosting the Zoo Taming hour. They entertained the Tamers with songs, and even Xel the Wanderer got into the spirit and lead the girl scouts in a song! Xel the Wanderer graciously provided security for the evening. Thank you, Xel!   The zoo's starting balance was  11,042,649 (tier 11) and ended with 11,168,233 this raising a total of 125,584 points! The random point level for the prize was 11,136,969 and was won by Son of OG who had joined in on the taming hour for his very first time!  The evening’s award was a full bag of sending. Congratulations Son of OG.   The Girl Scouts gave everyone a personalized engraved pan of cookies to thank them for their hard work. Goblins and Finger Paints and Mesanna! Oh My!

as seen and told by RawHeadRex Tuesday, March 2, started out peaceful in the area of the Britain west bank ... that is until the ice cream eating goblin fellows started to arrive. The Yatterings were awarded special body colors by their proud mother Mesanna because of their finger-paints and were acting extra feisty. Just like that * snaps fingers *, mayhem and mischief erupted as Lady Melisande appeared in the middle of the bank square! Not many people were there at the time so there were a few victims initially. The guards teleported in and quickly dispatched the hired goons of Lady Melisande, yet ate berries from the trees instead of helping in the fight against Lady Mel. Corporal Barracus will have a talking with them no doubt. Lady Mel finally fell. Some people regrouped and gathered their belongings, others asked Mesanna some heated questions. EM Crysania was given a freshly made strawberry ice cream cone, which she happily accepted as it was quite warm out. Soon after the words, "You guys ready do die?" were heard. A Navery and then a Primevil Liche appeared, the battle went quick as more and more people heard the cry to defend the city. Yatterings continued to relieve themselves on the guards. Afterward we heard that the Goblin "Art" had expanded to Lord British's throne area so we made haste to see for ourselves. I arrived late, but I heard Mesanna was again not pleased with the humans, telling us no jail could hold her and that the Yatterings could do anything they wanted. Bowing deeply, the messenger extends his hand in which is a rolled parchment. “M’Lady, the Town Guards have asked that I deliver this post haste. Quite important they said” Taking the parchment, she unrolls it and starts to read and her eyes grow wide. Not taking her eyes off the words she tells the messenger he may take his leave. Slowly she re-rolls the parchment and lays it upon her desk. Getting up from her chair, she walks over to the window and gazes out towards the West Bank of Britain……Turning she calls for the royal scribe.. “Send word out to the cities as fast as you can.. Saturday, February 27, there was a Meet & Greet scheduled with EM Seppo and Baja's new Event Moderator, Crysania. Unfortunately, I had a rl commitment at the meeting time, so perhaps someone who was there could give a brief review of what EM Crysania covered at that meeting? It seems EM Seppo missed the announced meeting, too, BUT, he did appear a couple of hours later, and is sporting a new look! EM Crysania appeared for a few moments at the second Meet & Greet, but could not stay. Mesanna, UO Associate Producer, was also on hand. To be honest, I don't know what happened to cause EM Seppo's death ... I strongly suspect Mesanna had something to do with it, after all she is a proverbial Goddess of Death! After EM Seppo was resurrected, some VERY strange things started happening with his appearance. A brief question and answer session was opened by EM Seppo: Question: Have the results for the writing contest (Recovering Stolen Wisdom - Writing Contest) been posted? Answer by EM Seppo: Not yet. Note: EM Seppo has a new computer and is still learning what will and will not work with Windows 7. Question: Will Baja have EM automatic rewards statues like some of the other shards? (Used an example of some EMs recently giving out sashes via the statues) Answer by Mesanna: We have a nice tool to give out rewards when the event warrants it. As for sashes, your EMs wanted to put it on a more personal level, they made each one by hand with Love for you guys. Seppo: Yea! The old fashioned way! Mesanna: So, for rewards, yes, we do have a means to let everyone get a reward, and it will be used in the future. It's a tool to make it easier on the EMs. For some reason, Mesanna took Darlantan outside for a private conversation: Question: Will we have Player Ran Towns on Baja? Answer by EM Seppo: Right now the answer is the same as in the past when we talked about it at the last Meet & Greet. When it was discovered the person asking had not been able to attend the last Meet & Greet, EM Seppo found his notes: EM Seppo:  The township concept was discussed last time, like the one on Chessy. At that time, it was that decided we keep it the way we have been doing  so far ... that is the opportunity to have banners and such through events. For instance, the ones that were given during the Casca arc. Question for Mesanna: Rumor is you are married to Misk and that you two met in UO. Answer by Mesanna: Rumor is correct. Question for Mesanna: Did you and Misk meet in UO? Answer by Mesanna: Yes we did. I lived in GA, and he lived in CA. We have been together ever since. UO is a very unique game, we have all made friends that we will never forget. Comment by EM Seppo: Town Guards have been asked if new guards will be given the sashes that were presented to them. Short answer is: No. Long answer is: From time to time, we will try to reward players in ways that rewards them for their participation - not just killing a boss - but those are only one time things. So, in other words, you should participate without expecting a reward. I like to surprise people anyways, so if you ever have a question where one answer will be something that is not surprising, then that is probably not going to happen! Statement (perhaps the beginning of a question?): EM Moderator forums ... Answer by EM Seppo: If you have questions, feel free to post them there, and most likely me or Crysania will respond. Or you can always just email. One thing, though, I often get  people who send email and ask me to contact them back through ICQ. I cannot contact people on ICQ, so I am not ignoring you - I just can't use that method of communication (or any other instant messaging program). If you include your email, there is a small chance I get back to you if it is urgent enough, but never ICQ. Claification: By email, EM Seppo means the feedback form found by using the 'Contact Us' link on the EM website, goldenbrewtavern.com. This form sends an email to both EM Seppo and EM Crysania. Question: Are in-game weddings still being performed? Answer by EM Seppo: Yes, we just haven't had any wedding requests. Casca was going to get married to a certain someone, but he died. Crysania would love the opportunity to perform a wedding, though. Note: At this point, those gathered started speculating about who 'a certain someone was', and, for some unknown reason, WildStar was glaring. EM Seppo's closing comments: 'I had on last thing to preach ... Just a general note kind of thing. It has been more than a year now on Baja, at least for me, I just wanted to remind people that often when you know someone long enough --- * searches for words *. Well, things can get a bit personal -- not really the right word, but, as an EM I don't have 'enemy list' or 'black lists' or 'favorites' and such. Are Goblins Taking Over Britain?

While at West Britain Bank on the evening of Thursday, February 25, I noticed Red Cap Santezza Verazza and a large gathering of goblins ... Then overheard Mesanna telling her 'sweet pet', the Yattering, 'the goblins are helping you take over the guard tower, he should never have accused us.' Then, gesturing to the new goblins, said, 'They are here to help you.' I don't know who the 'he' is that Mesanna was referring to, or what the accusation was. But I ran over to the guard tower to take a look just in case the 'he' is Baja's Town Guard, Corporal Brackus. And indeed, it seems goblins have taken over the guard tower as their 'new cabe'. Feets warmers have been added, and the goblins have been busy finger painting the outer walls! Ice cream and bed rolls have been placed on the top floor of the building! And goblins have made entries into the Town Guard log books! While goblins were busy finger painting the exterior of the former guard tower, I noticed the 'finely crafted chainmail leggings belonging to the Town Guard Corporal Brackus' hanging on the wall had also been vandalized. What is going on? How does Mesanna tie into this? Are the Town Guards doomed? And thankfully, with the help of EM Seppo and Mesanna, I got my wish. The unfolding of events, the product of every minute planning, this past year has given birth to my most exciting and rewarding experiences in Ultima Online. And I have the creativeness and excellent leadership of Seppo along with the support, patience, willingness, and honesty of the Baja community to thank for that. But it is time for me to make my exit. With the transfer of EM Dexter off of the Lake Austin shard, I have been asked to fill the spot left behind and become head EM of LA. And I have accepted. I would like to thank (again) the whole of Baja, EM Seppo, a slew of individual players that while I can not name them they know who they are, Ninja Death Squads, and the boss chain lightning special move, for making my stay thus far a great and unforgettable experience. But don’t worry, I will still definitely be in touch, and for those that play on Lake Austin, the departure of EM Dexter and my introduction will he announced and held official at 8pm CST tonight at Britain’s Counselor Guild, Trammel at a Meet and Greet. The Kingdom of Dawn Announces 12th Anniversary Book Contest Winners

Kingdom of Dawn 12th Anniversary Player-Written Book Contest Winners! The Kingdom of Dawn would first like to thank several generous citizens of Baja for donating gold and other items to the prize fund which totaled 2.1 Million Gold Pieces. We would also like to thank the judges, who shall remain anonymous, and the contestants who entered the contest. A total of six (6) books entries were received, however one was not PG-13 and the author withdrew it as editing it would ruin the entry. The books will be available in the Kingdom of Dawn Malas Outpost located just west of Umbra.
