Chesapeake Mage Tournament Results!
| Posted on Sunday, June 7, 2009, 4:12 AM EDT by Morpheus Mardox (Chesapeake) |
Chesapeake Mage Tournament Ends in Draw! Last evenings Chesapeake Mage Tournament was quite the event to witness as some of the shards top mage talents came together to vie for the nights championship. The nights activities began with gates being opened from various locations on the Felucca facet leading to the nights arena located just south along the mountains from the Chaos Shrine. After signing in all competitors and working out the nights first hiccups the events host Jason Bourne of the True Brits greeted guests and competitors alike covering the nights rules and rewards. Competitors awaited thier names to be called to enter the ring as the crowd anticipated the nights action picking favorites with a plethora of trash talk and predictions! Alas the first names were called sometime near midnight as Lord Trueblood and the Dastardly Wasp faced off in the nights first match! The nights opening battle began as spells began to fly back and forth in titanic porportions. Quick casting spells were the choice as speed was of the utmost importance in the attempt to withstand the constant barrage of poison, fire, and lightening. The two would be champions lit the night sky until alas one was befallen. Wasp stood victorious! With Wasp taking the nights first matchup convincingly our sights now set on the second match of the night. Essence of Nate faced off against Grimlock in a long battle. The two battled and even provided the nights first hurdle as spectators were found to be providing heals via magic wand in attempts to thwart the nights honest competion. All spectators were then removed from the arena and fights were resumed as the nights host did a fine job officiating the event. Once back to action the match resumed with Nate besting Grimlock in another fine matchup. With action well underway , it was time for the nights first attempt to kill those in attendance! The Followers of Armageddon rushed the top floor in hopes of wiping out the spectors! In a poor attempt the invaders were tossed and the guild warned, any fighter who belonged to the raiding guild would be disqualified! Luckily this worked as things calmed down after the brigand bunch battled outside along the grounds. The nights third matchup brought Wasp once again to centerstage, up against No One this would prove to be the nights longest battle as the two spellcasters went on like a couple dexxors with a potion iv! The two battled for what seemed like an hour or more perhaps exchanging blows back and forth With the match ongoing No One seemed to be in the lead working hard to keep Wasp near death and redlined several times. Unable to finish him the match was eventually stopped and the two stripped of thier gear and furnished with reagents. The two naked mages then began again with Wasp easily defeating No One with a barrage of large spells in quick order. The nights final matchup I was able to witness was that of Rofocale vs Phyber Optik . The two put on quite a show as well when in the end Phyber was victorious! The night wearing long as matches went well into the early hours of the morning as competitors eventually reached the nights finals. Wasp arriving via the winners bracket and Essence of Nate coming back from the losers bracket. The first matchup boasted Wasps first loss of the night! With victory near the two finalists could neither hold thier heads or spellbooks up any longer as they both agreed the wait for stat loss was too great as the match was declared a draw in a unique turn of events! All in all the night was a fair success as even matchups and fair play ruled the nights fun. I'd like to thank Jason Bourne for hosting us for this great event and hope it returns soon as the mages of Felucca showcase thier tremendous magery skills. Look for further announcements in the shards forums in the coming weeks! |

Sunday Night Scuffle! | |
| Posted on Monday, April 27, 2009, 10:06 PM EDT by Morpheus Mardox (Chesapeake) |
Sunday Night Scuffle! It had been a few weeks since my last trip to the lands of Felucca to bear witness to the chaos that is the battle for braggin rights and spawn supremacy. Much has changed since my last visit. The lands long held by the Reign of Tyranny and the grip of its leader Lacrimor Cruor have gave way to new groups made of some familiar faces and new alliegances. The Reign of Tyranny disbanding thier forces sent the pvp community into a frenzy to realign and bolster current forces and create new guilds to dominate the depths of Depsise and the Yew gate. Arising from the ashes of the goliath that was RoT is the newly formed The Fallen Legacy ( Uh Oh) crew led by Turles. Aligned with the True Britannians, the group has grown exponentially in the past weeks to rival it's predecessor. Thier impact is already being felt across the facet. Recieving intelligence of an ensuing battle in the dwelling of the Baccaroon, I made the journey to Serpents Hold and readied myself for the certain death the was in my near future. A challenge had been issued from those among ThE WoWzaSArOuSeS to the warriors of The Fallen Legacy to battle to the death. I arrived to see The Fallen Legacy already stalking the corridors. Holding the island and spawn well in hand the Baccaroon soon made his entrance at almost the same time as the Shadowlords of WoWz. Heavily outnumbered the Shadowlords assaulted the eastern front amidst a fury of fields as the battle had commenced. With mages in tow the True Britannians set to defending the island using old magic to cut off the raiding Shadowlords. In a wave of evil the True Brits suffered opening losses while holding the raiders in check. The action was hot and heavy for what seemed like hours as no ground was gathered by either party. While focusing on the enemy ahead the WoWz clan found themselves in a pickle! The mere force of six had been flanked by random faction warriors and defenders who no doubt received the same intel I had. The Council of Mages PRO! guild warriors along with a lone member from the once thought extinct Deus Ex Machina had trapped the WoWz along the east perimeter. Unable to fully abandon thier assualt on the bridge the WoWz in vain attempted to run down the flanking groups. Realizing the moment at hand the Fallen Legacy took advantage of the Shadowlords situation. Pushing outward from both island exits the True Britannians rid the area of the Shadowlord forces in convincing fashion. After reassembling thier forces thier attention turned back to the Baccaroon. Soon after meeting his demise the spoils of victory were gathered as the group headed to safer grounds victorious in the nights deciding battle. A grand sight it was to see the forces of evil dispatched in a combined effort by the virtuous factions of the realm. I look forward to the next invite. Until next time my friends..... |

Libraries of Chesapeake
| Posted on Sunday, April 26, 2009, 11:02 PM EDT by Sebrina (Chesapeake) |
Welcome to the Libraries! Years ago, several scribes and librarians began talks among themselves concerning their library collections. Although, most of these had made their runes and books open to the public, few had known of each other previously. Resourcing information, which might not be in their particular libraries, was a major concern. Many people had asked for gates or runes to specific locations, which could not be found in certain libraries. After some deliberation, a concencus was born to seek out other libraries and come to a solution for the benefit of the public. These scribes took on a search, to find other establishments with most any knowledge or location rune of import. Out of a sence of confussion, at first, an association of libraries was born on the Chesapeake shard, so that information could be shared and locations could be accessed readily. This group of libraries has come to be known as the "Greater Library Association of Chesapeake," GLAC. Are you looking for specific historical information? Do you need a rune to the deepest depths of a dungeon? Perhaps you want to know mining spots, or treasure hunting locations. Though no singular library is complete in all aspects, your questions and rune needs are most likely found throughout this library network. There are currently 27 listings of libraries in the GLAC runebooks and it is expected that more will be listed in the future. With such a large collection of establishment photos, it is necessary to use (thumbnails,) which you may click on for larger images. Included, are also maps for the general territories and explanations of the locations with brief descriptions to aid in your adventures. All Libraries listed are open to the public! Library Index Note: Libraries are listed here under their respective facets, then alphabetically regarding their house signs, disregarding "The" in establishment names. You may click on them to go directly to their description and pictures. "Back" buttons are provided at each listing to return to the Index. There ,are two views for each establishment, one for the exterior, and the other for the main library floor. Some have additional floors not shown. Thumbnails are reduced to moderate sizes, and images are 75% of actual screen size. Casandreal Library The first of two libraries, in the town of Casandreal, just Southeast of the Yew Moongate, has a host of original books, copies, periodicals, stories and journals. A sandstone structure with sloped walls, the library is located on the first floor, as one steps in the door. The collections of books are contained in gold hued rarewood chests, with reading chairs for the patrons. The collection of "Dangerous Creature Replicas, " are sure to tell you some history even if you do not read.             coordinates: 71o 32'N 36o 37'W             landmark: Yew Moongate             owner: Paul             collection type: reading books             spawn: minimal to none             bulletin board: yes             vendors: none
(back to Library Index) Casandreal Town Library Though this township has received only small notice, this entire library collection of runes, immediately South of the Casandreal (book) Library, is a must to look through. The establishment hosts close to 200 runebooks, including one for the 12 official houses of Casandreal. It is a white marble structure, with a touch of the orient. The collection begins on the first floor and continues up to the forth, with a beautiful décor and layout.                   coordinates: 69o 41'N 36o 21'W                   landmark: Yew Moongate                   owner: Harley                   collection type: runebooks                   spawn: minimal to none                   bulletin board: yes                   vendors: (3) mostly oriental décor items
(back to Library Index) Guardian's Gate Library Guardian's Gate has rapidly expanded over the last year. In the territory Northeast of Britain, with mountains to the West and a swamp to the East, it is a thriving community with many of the Royal Britanian Guard living in the area. The library on the South side, close to the wooden watchtower, is a distinctive pyramid shape and cannot be missed from the road. The rune library on the first floor has close to 100 runebooks including Training, Mining, Treasure, Spawns, and many more. On the second floor is a collection of books to find a a tale or two, hither, yet unread by thee.             coordinates: 43o 14'N 40o 42'E             landmark: Britain Territorial Watchtower             owner: Rigor Mortis             collection type: rune books & reading books             spawn: occasional brigands from the South             bulletin board: yes             vendors: none (back to Library Index) Lady Eliza's Stargate Runeatorium This library collection is possibly one of the oldest in all of Chesapeake. Now located in the jungles south of Trinsic, it has had many previous locations, including one in Felucca before the Renaisance. Though there are few reading-books, except for quest instructions, it holds over 200 old and new location runebooks. The structure is a wild combination of white brick and stone, with what seems to be a maze of rooms. Accessing the library, one must stand on the front blue colored altar (arbitor,) where the flaming skulls are, to teleport into this room of neon bookcases. With the meriad of collectibles, there is something new and old around each corner and bookcase.                 coordinates: 147o 34'S 33o 45'E                 landmark: Jungles South of Trinsic                 owner: L Eliza                 collection type: rune books + original and quest books.                 spawn: giant serpents to the North (minimal)                 bulletin board: yes                 vendors: none
(back to Library Index) Moonglow Northgate Library Located at the Northern gate of Moonglow City, one will always find runebooks, on the front steps, for all the Greater Library Association listings. It is a medium size white marble with spires to inspire. Though the runebook collection is presently modest, with basics for such endeavors as Mining, Treasure, Cities, and Taming, plus some others, it is easily assessible to the population and visitors of Moonglow.                       coordinates: 51o 40'N 139o 1'W                       landmark: Moonglow North City Gate         &
