[EM Fiction] Business before Pleasure...
| Posted on Saturday, May 21, 2011, 5:25 PM EDT by Mapper (Europa) |
Quote:
Mizara Khan cursed her own foolishness. Instead of competing in the Palio series and winning one of those ruby necklaces she had chosen to attempt to regain her lost treasure from the Void. It was a risky strategy and she had failed. Not only failed but placed her own health into a precarious state. Badly weakened her only recourse was to bathe herself in blood. Thick dark blood in the depths of a dungeon no-one but the very very cleverest, strongest and bravest could ever hope to enter. Nathan looked down at the blood pouring from the wound in his side and cursed his misfortune. He had been tracking Mizara for some time but never close enough to capture her or even attempt an assasination. She had disappeared into the Black Moongate and he had followed. A bad mistake for as soon as he entered the Void he was attacked, impaled with a monstrous horn through his side and fallen back through the Black Moongate almost in an instant. The Black Moongate disappeared in a blink and his quarrie was gone. Again. The newcomer looked down at Nathan with a curious mixture of respect, love and fear. With his help she placed him on her horse and took him off to a safe-house. Before he passed out from pain he whispered a few words into her ear. So she was going to have to tell the Royal Guard the information and hope they were up to this task. [EM Fiction] A Day at the Races
| Posted on Sunday, April 10, 2011, 2:03 AM EDT by Mapper (Europa) |
|
Nathan Hawke was pleased. Evidence showed that Mizara Khan, who was almost certainly behind the Yewish Plague, was not only vain she was a keen horse-rider. Discussions with the Royal Guard had further convinced Nathan that the Palio series was a perfect opportunity to trap her. She would, theoretically, be off her guard, and the prospect of not only winning a fancy necklace but showing off her riding skills was more than she could resist. In theory. Nathan had posters placed up around the towns offering a ruby encrusted necklace as first prize for winning the Nujlem Palio. One thing he did suddenly realise was that he didn't have a suitable candidate to host the Palio. Muttering to himself he knew he was the person to run this Palio and try and keep an eye on what was happening there... Meanwhile somewhere else... Mizara Khan licked her lips and smiled. She would have purred if she were any more cat-like. So that idiot Hawke had set up a series of horse races? Just in case he had found out her secret hobby she decided she would play this first one quite cool. She would observe quietly and see what transpired. Mizara Khan's survival instincts for once had overridden her vanity. But it was a hard battle for her to keep waging and she knew that she had to win one of those necklaces. Even if... Besides someone had killed her prize horse and she was busy training up her new found racer. No point in competing unless one knew one was going to win eh?
Source: A Day at the Races |

[EM Fiction] Loose Ends...
| Posted on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, 3:53 PM EDT by Mapper (Europa) |
Quote:
Nathan Hawke sat in the small room waiting. He had placed the box containing the crystal on the table and was staring at it. Somehow this thing had blown up the Dark Portal and the Altar west of where Magincia had once stood. Nathan shook his head, he was way out of his depth. There was also the small matter of the person who had caused the Plague in Yew. Nathan had read the reports and realised that there was some good work being done in the Kingdom... The Kingdom. Now there was another loose end to tie up. At this precise moment there was a knock at the door and Nathan barked "Come in". A smile crossed Nathan's face as the stranger stepped into the room. "Did you miss me eh?" the stranger said. "Always" Nathan answered. There was a hurried and hushed conversation and the box was passed into the hands of the stranger who quickly tucked it away. "I will be on my way then Nathan. I will let you know when the job has been done. Magincia must be cleansed" the stranger said as he shuffled out of the room. The stranger placed the box at the correct location and made a few silent chants, his lips barely moving as the box seemed to melt into the ground slowly. And the cleansing began. And then out of the ground a Black Arcane Circle began to appear. The stranger smiled. His work was now done and he returned to Nathan. "It is done Nathan. Now take a rest you look tired" the stranger said with a look of bemusement on his face. Nathan smiled back and said "Thank you old friend. Are you back for good?" "I am back for... who knows how long?" And with a puff of smoke he disappeared. Nathan slumped in his seat and went into a deep sleep... [Report] Virtuebane Driven Out of Magincia (Saturday 26th)
| Posted on Sunday, March 27, 2011, 8:46 AM EDT by Mapper (Europa) |
Theres not a whole lot to say about last night, So I'll just post what Nathan and the Virtuebane said, The screenshots should explain enough what the 2 hours involved. :p Quote:
Nathan Hawke: "Before we get started have you all got pies from Ricardo?" After a short break for people without pies to get them, Nathan continued. Quote:
Nathan Hawke: "Alright then we begin. My information is somewhat sketchy, things are breaking down here in the kingdom. Spies have informed me that the Meer have begun their attack in Magincia to aid us. As you are aware there is mention of some crystals. Crystals which I will collect and place inside the box on the newly formed altar. I believe the idea is that this will blow up the dark portal and the altar, that place will be our battle command tonight." Nathan Hawke: "This bit I am about to tell you has surprised me also, It seems the scholars I could speak with have suggested we use Ricardo's Pies to teach Virtuebane Humility. We humiliate him. I will also be using a sword. A gate opened to Magincia and this will sum up the next 2 hours, The island was teeming with blackrock golems, ancient hellhounds and Virtuebanes. The Virtuebanes let off area attacks that would hurt most well suited soldiers, their direct attack would easily kill them.. A stange grey tagged Virtuebane was running about the island, this one was susceptible to pies! Once the island had been cleared the final Virtuebane was pushed towards the altar. Quote:
Virtuebane: "I will have my revenge!! I WILL RETURN!! *STEPS INTO THE GATE*" With the Virtuebane through the gate Nathan ordered everyone to step back as he put the shards of duplicity into the box. With the altar blown up, Nathan gated everyone to a location where a gift giver was located. |
