Grey Mullet, has brought word of Sherry's where abouts and it seems a terrible fate has befallen her. While exploring it appears that Sherry crossed the path of the evil Medusa and was petrified. An expedition of Royal Guardsmen will be sent to recover Sherry. Queen Dawn has asked that anyone with information on how to reverse the effects of the Medusa to please give forth that information. A meeting will be forthcoming shortly to discuss and share information on how to reverse this tragedy. The Date of this Meeting will be Tues. October 20th, at 6pm EST, at the Nujel'm Chessboard. White Council Defeats Ilhenir the Stained

White Council Defeats Ilhenir the Stained. . .Again

Word was released that the White Council would attempt to defeat Ilhenir the Stained, the oft forgotten champion spawn located beneath the Bedlam Cemetery.

The hunt is in very close quarters with little room to maneuver. The White Council was able to defeat the spawn and it's champion in just under 90 minutes with four tamers, 3 bards and several mages, 11 members in total.

Congratulations to the White Council on their second time achievement of this champion. While not the first on the shard, it's a reminder to other guilds that the spawn does exist and can be conquered. . .who is next?

Siege House of the Week
The Siege Perilous Museum
submitted by Patty Pickaxe

The Siege Perilous Museum is located just west of the Luna gate. This public building houses an enormous number of artifacts and rares. The owner, Lub'grub, has done a great job of organizing the items so they are easily seen and identified.

The dungeon of the museum houses the more macabre items that can be found in UO. This includes various statuettes, the iron maiden, and blood and skulls. In particular, I like the goat carcass on the pentagram. Very clever.

The second floor is set up as a tavern displaying various items of decor. I'm not sure exactly what's supposed to be happening over at the east end where the stage is, but it looks interesting. . .

Take a moment to step out of Luna and visit the Siege Perilous museum. It's a great place to see so many items that you may never own!

Congratulations to Lub'grub for having the Siege Perilous museum selected as House of the Week. If you have a submission for house of the week, please PM to IanJames, or email to uosiegeperilous@stratics.com

The night of the silent pies

>>> Felucca Facet News <<<
Hail Siege!

Tis late at night, I fear, and I have forgotten the workings of the vile NewsPro device.Come to think of it, I am not sure if it even still exists... but tonight, I have spent a good hour in Luna - if there can be such a thing as a good hour in Luna - and felt I should share it with thee!
And so, here is a short article.

I did not manage to attend the earlier events, but they have been very capably covered. Here, then, is a conclusion to them, for those who have nothing better to do than read this article!

EM Quantum arrived, as promised, and handed out a good many Cloaks of Silence, as well as a few tasty pies.
I am told my cloak makes me look ill, so I shall save it for occasions when I am desperately seeking sympathy.
The cloak, as I am sure most of ye know by now, gives its wearer ten points of skill in stealthiness. Not terribly useful to a blind man, but I am sure many of ye will find it helpful!

Another Event Manager arrived, he of many names, who I shall call EM Auto for simplicity's sake. He seemed to be a most unfortunate EM, having both his name, and apparently his hue changed several times, as well as being saddled with a dunce's helmet.

After a good many pies had been thrown, and EM Auto was reduced to being squelched, it was announced that next weekend will see the announcement of the Fairground Design Contest winner! How soon after that it will be built is unknown - it will probably depend on how many of Mo'gluk's orcs we can enslave in the near future.

Discussion then turned to future events. The general concensus was that events that grow our population, grow it well, and in a lasting way, are needed. So, with luck and sheer hard work, let us hope that pays off!

As I said, a short news article, but tis better than a poke in the eye with a stale pie crust.

*splat*

Shadowlords Defeated in Luna!!

Shadowlords Defeated in Luna - Siege Style

A call from Fayaxion and Dawn brought the warriors of Siege to the city of Nu'jelm.

Once the word got out, even more came

Sufficient numbers were present, and Fayaxion believed we could defeat the terrible shadowlords. A gate to their underground lair was opened and the warriors of Siege Perilous bravely ran through with shouts of Armageddon

They just kept coming, more shadowlords, moving quickly and repeatedly targeting the same players. . .as though they were controlled by someone else. . .

But the warriors gained the upper hand

With the Shadowlords of the underworld defeated the warriors gathered around Fayaxion and Dawn

The task was not complete. It was time to liberate the City of Luna from the terribly influence of Shadowlords and their army of Balrons

All congregated on the steps to Luna as the final Paragon Slayer was defeated.

Afterwards, the warriors were directed upstairs where, exhausted, they waited patiently for their reward.

Cloaks of Silence were distributed quickly throughout the group!

For those who may not have been able to attend. Cloaks will be distributed throughout the week. More information will be forthcoming.

Fayaxion rushed towards the City of Yew faster than most humans can imagine yet only slightly faster than her thoughts, "This one must be saved, it is rare to find one so virtuous and noble, let so strong of will and arm, one worthy of our friendship and assistance!" Powerful as she was, Fayaxion knew she could not stand alone against the combined might of the human's captors , but perhaps she could rally the mortals that were worried over the on going chaos to help free the woman.

Please Meet with Fayaxion tomorrow Night (8/11/09) at Yew Abbey to embark on a rescue mission at 9pm EST. And May the Virtues Guide you.

Stonehaven Chapel
submitted by Patty Pickaxe

Stonehaven Chapel is located in Stonehaven at 5.16S 54.25E. From Umbra, exit the east gate and head south through the mountain passage to the desert city of Stonehaven, continue South until you hit the mountains.

The chapel is two storeys. The first floor holds the "sanctuary"

The second floor holds what appears to be choir loft. You can get there via a hidden teleporter in the back of the sanctuary

Inside the chapel are a couple of hidden storage areas

The lawn areas on each side of the building are accessible via hidden stone doorways. The owner has cleverly decorated with some soulstones

Congratulations to Noc'guille for having their "Stonehaven Chapel" nominated for "Siege House of the Week"

Submissions for House of the Week may be made via PM to IanJames or via email to uosiegeperilous@stratics.com

Siege 10th Anniversary Story Night
Return to TopSubmit News!
Posted on Sunday, August 2, 2009, 7:04 PM EDT by IanJames (SiegePerilous)

Story Night

To kick off the Siege 10th Anniversary Celebration, Bruin of Citizens of Wispwood Shire, Siege's oldest guild, hosted Story Night at the Golden Unicorn Tavern.

The theme of the evening was the Birth of Siege

With the instructions for the evening given, it was off to the races. Corvus spoke first telling of his early days on Siege as Kodiak with his friend Thunderlips. They worked constantly picking locks in dungeons to get gold and placed the very first home on Siege Perilous which is still located at Moonglow gate just to the North.

Bruin spoke of his first days as well, escorting individuals from town to town to collect gold.

Tiberius spoke of his early days and helping to found the Citizens of Wispwood Shire

Then Yahaxathonix slept walk to the stage and told a rather scary and apocalyptic tale of what is to come

During our intermission, EM Quantum stood up and announced the contest for designing the new Siege fairgrounds, details here

Following the contest announcement, Mesanna appeared and spawned several ShadowLord Manifestations for the crowd to kill outside the Golden Unicorn. Sadly, the reporter was killed and had to get resurrected and his camera was damaged during the melee.

Many people came out to enjoy the evening of stories and drinking.

All of Siege is looking forward to the next 10th Anniversary event in the series.

Story Night is open to all who wish to partake in its activities, friend or foe, new to this land or old.

For location of the Golden Unicorn Tavern, go to this link Here

Note that Siege Perilous is a dangerous place where you may be killed virtually anywhere, and we can not guarantee your safety while at Story Night. Please carry with you only what you can afford to lose.

* Our Sosarian historians have done their best to determine the exact birth date of this land and have come to a general consensus of this date.

Siege House of the Week
submitted by Ian James

This week's featured home is The Hedge Maze owned by Loki. The hedge maze is a public home and a cleverly designed one at that. On two levels the maze takes you around. There are some books to give you clues, but can you find all four and make your way out?

My first few times around, I got lost

And then, I fell down a hole! Hey, what's that on the other side of the wall?

Upon further exploring I got stuck at the top of a tower

Only one way out of this one. . .I had to start over. . .and found a nice chair.

A bit more exploring and I found the secret! This room also has a rune to the Skara Brae hedge maze and several artifacts

Can you find your way out of the hedge maze too?

Visit the hedge maze and get lost! It's quite a good little puzzle and the first time I visited it many months ago it took me quite some time to figure it out. On the re-visit recently, it still took me a few tries to remember all it's secrets.

Congratulations to Loki for being selected for House of the Week #3

Siege Perilous House of the Week

Old Gilfane Town
submitted by Patty Pickaxe

Old Gilfane Town is a public building located just north of Hanse's Hostel in Malas on the continent between Luna and Umbra.  Old Gilfane town is a representation of Gilfane in antiquity featuring several "mini-houses" on an 18x18 custom plot.

The facade of the buildings are typical of the buildings of 1400's Britain.  You can see from the outside a stream running through the center of the little village.

The first building in the southeast corner of the plot is a flour mill. This is where the village stream is diverted to.

Downstairs in the southwest corner is a bakery shop and upstairs above is the kitchen

Upon entrance to the plot, you can see a secret underground area, some careful exploring will allow you to find your way in!

The second floor reveals the "main" path through Old Gilfane Town. From here you can enter the house in the NorthEast corner.

Upstairs is another bedroom and eating area.

If you're the fortune type, you can stop off for a reading.

And lastly, a room I nearly missed. A hidden teleporter will take you to this bedroom above the bakery and kitchen.

Congratulations to Horace Swill for having Old Gilfane Town nominated for House of the week. The design is very clever and is a great model for customization of these types of plots.  Hope to see you all in Gilfane checking this one out!

Siege Perilous
House of the Week

July 9, 2009

Submitted by Kelmo

Our very first House of the
Week is
Ikichet's School for the Proper Upbringing Of Fine Young
Ladies, and Rehabilitation of Creepy Teens
Located in
Makoto just
outside of the west gate.  Ikichet has quite a collection of
items in the house but the real attention grabber is the name of the
house. I didn't even know you could have a house name that long!

This custom 18x18 has a unique nearly symmetrical design.  The
front "lawn" is a swamp filled with swamp tiles and flowers. You can
see Ikichet's extensive rune library in the northwest upper corner of
the house.  While the house is public, I could not find my way
up there! All those trees, flowers and swampy floor must have blocked
something hidden!

Inside the first floor we can see the beginnings of the vast collection of rares and veteran items

The Second floor reveals even more items, there are just too many to list!

Who knows?! Maybe Ikichet will sell some of the extra rare items at their front yard vendors

Congratulations Ikichet on being nominated for House of the Week! Your
house is to quote Kelmo, "a study in organized clutter."

If you have a house of the week submission, send the name and location
of the home, preferably with coordinates, to

Krystal's 10,000th Murder Count

June 24, 2009, Siege Perilous, Stonehaven Fight Arena, Umbra, Malas

A celebration of a monumental achievement occured Wednesday June 24, 2009 on Siege Perilous. The infamous Krystal achieved her 10,000th murder count in a journey that took several years. The regulars of Siege all came out, some brave enough to step into the arena for a chance to be the 10,000th count.

As the brave stood in the arena taunting the killer, EM's Eira, Faine Morgan and Cyro arrived along with Mesanna. Mesanna started handing out blessed cream pies to all in attendance. The new cream pies were a great source of entertainment for all while waiting for the events to start. The pies are blessed and can be thrown at anyone, ghosts, npcs and live players.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Once about 40 players were in attendance, the festivities began quickly with Krystal firing shots from her bow into the group of martyrs.

Photobucket

They fell quickly one by one, until the 10,000th victim, Elmer Fudd was vanquished.

Photobucket

After reaching the 10,000th count, there was a celebration with fireworks.

Congratulations to Krystal on a super achievement. You have to admit, if you like Krystal or not, this is something to cheer on Siege Perilous, and she's not stopping yet, from this screenshot, we can see that she's still going and moving on towards another milestone:
