The Dread Pirate G'Thunk

Ar, and hand me that huge war mace, fellow greater humanoids.
From the Town Cryer Newspaper, July 6th, 1998

Vesper -- A supply ship, the Freedom, was attacked by trolls hurling large bolders and flaming torches at the ship, and was forced to ground East of it's intended destination, the docks of Vesper. The ship was carrying necessities to a dozen local merchants, as well as messages bound for citizens of Vesper itself.

The most compelling of those messages was not addressed to anyone, but simply carried the title, Urgent : Zog Cabal. It is assumed that the captain of the vessel knew who the intended recipient was, but the world may never know as the captain was one of the early casualties on the unfortunate ship.

Not a single sailor was spared, and no one escaped the burning ship alive. Those who weren't killed by the hurled rocks or the fires were drowned at sea as the trolls refused to let even one of the ship's hands flee to safety.

G'Thunk has since issued a statement to the nobles of Vesper saying that this will not be his last assault on passing ships unless he is given the land which is rightfully his, the forests of Vesper and the surrounding community. G'Thunk's demands are simple. All Humans must go.

But it was the note itself that seemed to concern the nobles even more than the trolls attack, and word was sent immediately to Trinsic to inform Lord CrawWorth of the findings of those who heroically stood up to the troll army.

The Citizens of Britannia once again prove their dominance over the less than intelligent creatures of the wilds, as the trolls were handily defeated by those who heeded the call of the town cryers. Rarely do the denizens of darkness form a threat to a city full of well armed adventurers, but with rumors flying about the Zog Cabal, and perhaps their involvement with the trolls, many are becoming worried.

It has been put forth, for example, that if the Cabal did not want the message in question to reach Vesper, than the trolls were a perfect cover for their political scheming. And perhaps they are offering G'Thunk a better deal than he could possibly get from the Vesper nobles, who have no intention of negotiating with him or his band of trolls.

It is with weary eyes that we must now survey the damage. The trolls, the cabal, and the forces of evil are keeping us busy. Let's hope we have put another dent into their plans.

Drat, I missed this one, a sea battle would've been nice.
I was out of town for this event. From the look of it, it seems to have only been a set-up for another wrinkle in the fabric, which was this past quest of a messenger taking that "Urgent: Zog Cabal" book to Trinsic via the road. I hope you guys have some info to submit on this one.
