Crawworth Returns To Us

This just in.... Intimate details of Crawworths recent quest.

From Locke SilverHand

While relaxing in Keg & Anchor last eve I noticed a gentlemen with a red viking pass by, being the minstrel of knowlege that I am mine feet quickly took to the road in hope of possibly exchanging storys with the gent. To mine great suprise tis was Crawworth, Ex capt. of the guard! When asked how he faired, to mine dismay, He was not well. The Zog Cabal has stuck again!

After being informed about there possible wearabouts I set off with haste. Searching the country side I found nothing. Time was growing short.. these foul villians must not escape. Then a small boy approched on a fine steed handing me a finely crafted scroll, opening it I read the following words... Locke In responce to your message I have left the Trisnic gates now travel north along the road to meet thee. ~Dionin~

We met along the road and no villians were to be found. Quickly calling forth the magics of a gate we once again visited Crawworth in Trisnic.

Crawworth: Good day
Locke SilverHand: m'lord
Crawworth: Yes?
Locke SilverHand: We have searched the entire road
Locke SilverHand: and the xroads
Locke SilverHand: they are nay to be seen
Crawworth: I have heard rumors recently of strange happening near the Spirit Shrine
Dionin Bloodbane: ahh I believe I know of its location
Crawworth: I would ask that you hurry and search that area
Dionin Bloodbane: *nods* we shall do our best
Crawworth: You likely will not find the thieves
Crawworth: but probably an item they may have accidentally left behind
Dionin Bloodbane: ahh...
Crawworth: anything that would give me information about the Zog Cabal would help greatly
Dionin Bloodbane: I see..
Crawworth: or the whereabouts of these thieves
Dionin Bloodbane: then we must hurry to search there for clues

Ariving at the shrine we met a helpful fello named DireWolf from there we set off searching for the clues Crawworth asked for. Dionin's keen eye focused upon a dark sinister looking tome that was droped in haste under a tree. We have found the clue! Tis time to finish this.

Dionin Bloodbane: Greetings...
Crawworth: Hail
Crawworth: Did thou find anything?
Dionin Bloodbane: we all searched the shrine area...
Locke SilverHand: Hail
Dionin Bloodbane: I believe I have something... yes
Dire Wolf: didnt find anythin
Dionin Bloodbane: I found something under a tree..
Crawworth: Please let me see it
Crawworth: I must examine this
Dionin Bloodbane: *nods*
Crawworth: Please hold on while I look it over
Dionin Bloodbane: it appeared to be a locked tome of some sort..
Crawworth: Hmmm... This is interesting
Crawworth: I believe I will need to study this further
Dionin Bloodbane: *watches him intently* is this the information you needed?
Crawworth: I must reward you in some manner
Crawworth: I believe I have some gold inside the guild hall
Crawworth: let me go retreive it
Dionin Bloodbane: that tome may contain information that will lead us to the thieves
Dionin Bloodbane: the tome I found was called Zog Cabal
Crawworth: This is all I could find, I hope it is enough
Dionin Bloodbane: bel'la dos...
Crawworth: I do not need these golves either
Crawworth: I will need to examine this book more closely
Dionin Bloodbane: when do you think you will learn what you must from this book?
You see: 1000 gold coin (2000 gold and leather gloves of duriblity was the reward)
Crawworth: but I believe the Zog Cabal are out to destroy our world
Locke SilverHand: they will surly fail
Crawworth: They wish to use a spell which Mondain was working on
Dionin Bloodbane: *raises an eyebrow*
Dire Wolf: finnally some real action
Crawworth: and I beleive that is why they want his relics
Dionin Bloodbane: I see...
Crawworth: I beleive this is all we will be able to do tonight
Crawworth: until I have a few days to further study this book
Locke SilverHand: twas a honor to serve thee the good of the lands m'lord
Dionin Bloodbane: *studies him thoughtfully for a moment then speaks quietly* if there is
Dionin Bloodbane: anything more we can do we will be glad to help
Crawworth: I thank thee
Crawworth: The thieves might have escaped without your help
Crawworth: be prepared in the future though
Dionin Bloodbane: *nods*
Crawworth: For I know not what will happen and when you might be needed
Crawworth: Good night to all of you
Dionin Bloodbane: goodnight
Locke SilverHand: sleep well m'lord
Crawworth: I am going to retire and study this book.

This happened June 17. aprox 11 pm est.

Amazing... Great Journalism there. This clarify's much.
This helps out immensely. I thank thee greatly, Locke. Crawworth is in posession of a locked tome of some kind, and is examining it as his only clue to the whereabouts/intentions of the Zog Cabal. Quite interesting... yes... quite interesting. I'm assuming this happened AFTER the mondain relics were stolen, although it wasn't mentioned where this quest was on the timetable. It may be that this happened before the theft, and the tome was the clue that led Crawworth to believe that the relics were to be stolen.

Relics of Mondain Stolen
Caitlin Elopidat
UP: Britannia

The facts are these: 1 - A peasant ran screaming from the Britannian Counselor's guild, declaring that the Relics of Mondain had disappeared. 2 - He died of mysterious causes just outside the building, on the streets of Britain. 3 - The Relics, the last remnants of the vile madman, Mondain, are in fact gone.

But what really happened? Witnesses to the event say the unnamed peasant who fled the building looked pale and ghastly, though whether from poison or the extreme shock of his discovery was unclear. Lord CrawWorth, who has been hunting the Zog Cabal for the past several months, declared the man poisoned. He made reference to the poisoning of Lord Hartham several months ago, and took it upon himself to lead a crusade to find the thief or thieves, who he was convinced were Zog Cabalists in action.

But after CrawWorth fled the scene, with many citizens in hot pursuit, ready to right the injustice of the Cabal's actions, Sage Winslow made remarks to the effect that CrawWorth's view may be a little skewed. Drawing on the fact that CrawWorth has been obsessed with the Zog Cabal since Hartham's death, and claiming that he could find no evidence of poisoning, he stated that the man may have gone over the edge, and that perhaps he was seeing things that weren't there.

One of Britannia's finest guards was found dead near the display case. The examination of his body was much quicker, and was done by Lord British's own forensics evaluators (neither CrawWorth nor Winslow was available for this examination) they found no evidence of poison on his body, and concluded that he had been clubbed in the head with a blunt object.

CrawWorth and Winslow did both examine the display case for any sign of foul play, or clues as to who or what might have been the source of the robbery, but they found nothing that helped them determine what had actually happened. So many questions remain. Who did kill the guard? Was the peasant poisoned, and if not, then what did he die from? Who stole the relics? And why? Facts allude to themselves and together they have a cumulative effect.

So, does this mean the Guards will finally start wearing helmets??
Lets go pass some legislation, right now!! LB has to realize from this that helmets on soldiers AND GUARDS are necessary. I fail to see the logic in not protecting one's head. And surely, this entire catasrophe could've been avoided had the guard in the counselors guild been wearing some head protection. I mean, cmon, a guard getting gonked on the head and relinquishing his post to invaders?? It's the oldest cliche in storytelling. We must get past these trites, and move on to the better explanations...

Those are, that the relics of mondain are perhaps cursed in some way, and outside of their containment, were able to aid in their own escape from the counselor's guild by killing the guard and poisoning the nearby peasant. Much more interesting explanation. I plan on running with it until we find a bruise on the dead body confirming our greatest fears... That the most powerful magical items in all of britannia were handed over to evildoers by incompetent armor suppliers, and no regulation enforcing helmet use among the guards. tsk tsk....

Back from god knows where, Crawworth warns of doom at the hands ot the Zog Cabal...

Lake Superior-Crawworth Sighting
Luhan sent me this:

I have to admit that I haven't been paying as much attention to the plot as perhaps I ought, but I do seem to remember that Crawworth resigned his position as Captain of the Guard and went off to investigate the Cabal of Zog, or some such, several months ago.

So perhaps it is significant that I spotted Crawworth entering the First Bank of Trinsic (on Lake Superior) this evening at 11:40pm Central Time). I knew it was him and not an impersonator from the blood-red sword he was wielding.

Several of the bank patrons saw him, but other than me, only one 'Cypher' followed him as he headed out into the streets of Trinsic. He seemed extremely paranoid, as every few steps he would hide and wait for perhaps half a minute or so, then bolt off in a new direction. Fortunately, I was able to track him for perhaps ten minutes until he finally hid himself for a long while just east of the Provisioner's shop and disappeared without a trace. It was as if he wanted to be seen, but not followed.

I was able to grab a screenshot as Crawworth left the bank. You can download it from http://www.io.com/~jrb/Crawworth.jpg. Please pardon my haste in snapping the shot; Crawworth's legs and red sword are just sticking out from under the lower right corner of his paperdoll.

Plus VirulLord Redemus added this:

Yesterday, Seer Lacerta came to the Yew Empath Abbey and told everyone to go to the anhk and mediate, for the end was apon us. Apon further investigation, we managed to find out that the Zog Cabal, a group of Necromancers, was comming to our world and were going to make massive changes. The seer gated us to the Serpents Cross tavern so we could drink for a while (The place was dry, amazing eh?). The seer told us that the Zog Cabal would be doing a ritual this day, but tomorrow, they would attempt to steal the relics of Mondain. Promptly today, my fellow guild members and myself, pluss a few others, went to guard the relics. After waiting for a while, one of the sages came and a man with a red sword, and we all swarmed outside, just to run back in, and find the relics gone. We have searched as told, between Britian and Trinsic, with no avail, and now, I have stopped the search for now. But the relics are still missing, and the Zog Cabal at large. Be any warned, that the seer also said that the Zog Cabal had the ability to banish souls. (Take it as you will).

Thanks!

A Base? What base? Where were their building permits?? I didn't see them at town meetings!!.
A good question here is what these two events have in common. How did a seer in Yew suddenly get the notion that the Zog Cabal were close to imposing their doom/wrath upon the poplace? Surely Crawworth should have some idea what's going on (as he hasn't really been all there). But why is it that a seer several cities away was telling people to meditate?

Mondains relics are gone. This is indeed bad news for they've been fabled to contain in themselves some of the most powerful magicks in the land. With them out of arms reach of Britain, this bodes badly for everyone. As yet, I've seen no official postings on this event, but i have confirmed that something similar must've taken place on all shards. Atlantic is missing its relics. I was too busy last night with friends mapping out rep system bugs for reporting that It slipped my mind that it was Wednesday night (FYI to everyone who reads my site. Most of the quests/plots are carried out DURING the week, usually on wednesday night, at "primetime", which is considered 7pm-12 am EST).
