The House Sign
To access your house sign menu, double-click your house sign. The sign re-opens to the last page you selected. There are five pages of information and settings you can view and edit here.

Information Page

The Information page shows the current status of your house.

The first line indicates whether your house is properly or improperly placed. If a house is properly placed, you could demolish it and build the exact same type of house in its place. If a house is improperly placed, then if you demolish it you will not be able to rebuild the same house type in the same location. All new houses created are properly placed. Some older houses may be improperly placed due to slight changes in house placement rules made in the past.

The second line shows whether the house is Modern or Classic. Classic houses were created over three years ago. Modern houses were placed within the last three years.

The third line shows whether the house is Public or Private.

The fourth line shows the house's refresh status. If this line says "Automatic," then the house is a primary house and will not decay so long as your account remains active. "Grandfathered" indicates the house is a "grandfathered" non-primary house and will not decay so long as your account remains active. "Condemned" indicates the house will decay and vanish in a few days, unless traded to another account.

The fifth line shows whether the house is a custom-build or of a prefabricated design.

The last two lines on this page show when the house was constructed, and when it was last traded.

Security Page

The security page has numerous options for controlling your house security:
  • Add a Co-Owner - if you are the house owner, click this button and target someone to make them co-owner of your house. This gives them a lot of power to affect your house. Grant co-ownership with extreme caution!
  • Remove a Co-Owner - clicking this button brings up a list of co-owners of your house. Click the button next to a name to revoke that player's co-owner status.
  • View Co-Owner List - if you are a co-owner (or owner) of a house, click this button to view the list of house co-owners.
  • Add a Friend - if you are the house owner, click this button and target someone to make them a friend of your house.
  • Remove a Friend - clicking this button brings up a list of friends of your house. Click the button next to a name to revoke that player's friend status.
  • View Friend List - if you are a friend (or co-owner, or owner) of a house, click this button to view the list of house friends.
  • Make this house Public/Private - the house owner can use this button to toggle the public/private status of the house. Note that while a private house can be made public at any time, a public house can only be made private when there are no vendors or barkeepers in it.
Note: A house's Access List and Banish List are maintained separately. You cannot access the Banish List of a private house, or the Access List of a public house. However, when a house is made public and private again, its old Access List from when it was private before is restored.

Storage Page

The storage page shows you a breakdown of your house's secure storage and lockdown use.
  • Maximum Secure Storage - this number is the maximum total secure storage of your house. It is not normally possible to exceed this limit. However, some houses created before the publish of Ultima Online: Age of Shadows may be over their storage limit. If you are at or over your storage limit, you cannot lock down any items, place items in secure containers, or create new secure containers.
  • Used By Fixtures - if your house is customizable, this is how many doors and teleporters you have installed in your house. For non-customizable houses, this number is zero.
  • Used By Secure Containers - this is the total number of objects you have stored away in secure containers. The secure containers themselves are counted as lockdowns (see below).
  • Used By Lockdowns - this is the total number of lockdowns in your house. This total includes the number items locked down, plus the number of secure containers, plus 10 for each vendor or barkeeper in the house.
  • Available Storage - this is the total secure storage, less the amount of storage used by fixtures, secure containers, and lockdowns.
  • Maximum Lockdowns - this is the maximum amount of your secure storage which can be used for lockdowns. The rest can only be used for secure containers.
  • Available Lockdowns - this is your maximum lockdowns less the number used (see "Used By Lockdowns" above).
Customization Page

This page has several options for customizing your house.
  • Convert to Customizable House - if your house is a prefabricated design that is not a Castle, Keep, 2-Story Wood and Plaster, or 2-Story Stone and Plaster house, then you can use this option to covert it into a customizable dirt lot of the same size and at the same location. You will be refunded the original purchase price of the house, and then charged the cost of the equivalent dirt lot.
  • Customize This House - if your house is a customizable one, use this option to enter Edit Mode and change your house design (see ).
  • Relocate Moving Crate - when you convert or customize your house, all its secure storage items are packed out of the way into a moving crate. Use this option to retrieve the moving crate and move it to your current location, so you can unpack it.
  • Change House Sign - if your house is public, use this option to change the appearance of your house sign. This works for prefabricated and customized houses. This option displays a three-page list of house signs to choose from.
  • Change Sign Hanger - if your house is customizable, use this option to change the sign hanger. This option displays a short list of sign hangers to pick from.
  • Change Signpost - if your house is customizable, and your house design does not include a wall directly adjacent to the house sign, then a sign post will be present. Use this option to select a new signpost. If your house design includes a wall adjacent to the sign, then the post is unnecessary and this option is unavailable.
  • Change Foundation Style - if your house is customizable, use this option to change the appearance of the short walls (foundation) of your dirt lot. There are five items to choose from.
Ownership Page

Options on this page allow you to trade your house to another player, demolish your house for a refund, or (if it is 'grandfathered') set it to be your primary house.
