House Transfer
There may come a time when you'll want to consider buying or selling a house. You can buy houses from Architects (click here for more information) or from other players.

If you decide you want to buy a placed house, or sell one to another player, it's important to familiarize yourself with the process of house trading.

A house can only be traded to another character by using the house sign. There is an option located in the house owner's menu that will allow them to transfer the house to another player. When this option is clicked, the house owner will be given a targeting cursor. They then need to target the person that is buying the house. A normal trade window should pop up with the house deed (it will be hued a special ice-blue) on the seller's side.
The deed will have important information on it. Single-clicking the deed in the trade window will display the name of the house, the name of the house's owner, and the sextant coordinates of the house's location. If you're the buyer, it's important for you to make sure that these details are correct. So, before you even begin the trade, it's a good idea to do the following:
  • Take note of the seller's name.
  • Check the house sign. If you single-click on a house sign, the name of the house will be displayed.
  • If you have a sextant, check the coordinates of the house.
Both the seller and buyer will need to be within 2 paces of the house sign in order to initiate the trade. If everything looks to be in order, the buyer should then place their half of the trade (a check for the appropriate amount, for example) in their side of the trade window. The seller should always check to make sure the payment is what was agreed upon by single-clicking on the offer in the window.
