Detect Hidden
"Halt! Who goes there?!"
"No one. "
"Oh. Well alright then."

Danger can be hiding around every corner in Britannia, and with a bit of skill at Detecting Hidden, you can find traps on chests, find traps in dungeons and locate other players who may be hiding in the shadows nearby.
Using Detecting Hidden
To use the Detecting Hidden skill to search an object or area:
  • Click the blue gem next to the skill on your skill list.
  • Target the area or object you wish to search.
If successful, you "notice something funny" about the object or area, and it is revealed to anyone in the vicinity.

Your search radius and your chance of detecting traps or other players depends on your skill level and the hidden player's Hiding skill. (The Magery spell Invisibility also has a base chance to resist Detect Hidden.) At high skill levels (above 80), you may even begin to detect traps automatically on occasion. You may never detect all hidden traps, however, so it would be wise to always search for traps under suspicious circumstances.

Hint: Homeowners may find the Detecting Hidden skill very useful. If you are a homeowner, co-owner or friend to a house, you may use the Detecting Hidden skill to reveal any players that may be hiding inside the house. When used in this circumstance, the skill always reveals hidden players, regardless of your skill level.

To gain skill, seek out more dangerous traps, or sneakier people!
