Inscription
Inscribed in a steady hand and imbued with the power of reagents, a scroll can mean the difference between life and death in a perilous situation. Those knowledgeable in Inscription may transcribe spells to create useful magical scrolls.

The inscription skill will give the player a slight bonus to their Magery spell damage.

A blank scroll - required as a base parchment for transcription. Blank scrolls are often carried by monsters throughout Britannia, or may be purchased from shopkeepers.
Sold by: Scribe, Real Estate Broker
Crafted? No.

Reagents - The appropriate reagents used for casting the spell must be used when transcribing a spell to a scroll.
Sold by: Mage, Herbalist, Alchemist
Crafted? No.

Spell Book - To inscribe a spell onto a scroll, you must have the spell in your spellbook. To add a spell to a spell book, drag the scroll onto the book. Inscription is not necessary to do this. If the spell is already in the spell book you are trying to add it to, the spell will reappear in the location from which you moved it. (For Magery spells, a mage spellbook is needed - for necromantic spells, a Necromancy spell book is required.)
Sold by: Mage, Scribe, Necromancer
Crafted? Magery spell books can be crafted by a Scribe with at least 50.0 skill. Necromancy spellbooks must be purchased from an NPC necromancer (commonly found in Umbra on the Malas facet.)

Before you inscribe a spell you must first be able to cast the spell without the aid of a scroll. This means that you have the appropriate level of proficiency as a mage or necromancer, the required mana, and the required reagents. Second, you will need a blank scroll to write on and a scribe's pen. Summon all of your inscription skill, and use it on the blank scroll. Then you will need to decide which circle you will attempt and then which particular spell. It may sound easy, but there's a bit more to it. As with the development of all skills in the game, you need to practice lower level spells before you can move onto the more difficult ones.

The most important aspect of inscription is mana. Inscribing a scroll with a magic spell drains your mana. When inscribing 3rd circle or lower spells this will not be much of a problem as your mana recharges at a slightly slower rate than you can spend it. However, when you are inscribing 6th circle spells you may see your mana drain rapidly. When this happens, pause to take a short rest before continuing.
