Hail fellow players :)

I wanted to provide some information on new issues that involve how counselors interact with you with regards to the new policy on unattended macroing, housing, exploitation/harassment, murder counts and our new powers. I receive many calls nightly on the above topics and want to provide some feedback that can be referred to as a reference guide. The following posts will deal with these issues.

Lets start with our new powers. I have seen numerous posts on various boards, newsgroups, and comments from players in game, grossly misrepresenting the counselor powers and their intent, either out of ignorance, incorrect unofficial websites or a score of other sources.

The powers granted to me as a counselor were given to provide me with the means to be more helpful to callers. The one or two commands made available that provide a means to discipline are not for casual use and are not going to be required or needed in 99 out of 100 calls or more. Since they have been issued, I have not yet had call to use them and I am not sure that I ever will. One of them was available to us all along and we did not really use it then either :P

The other powers are mostly involved with mobility. Prior, if a player was stuck, and it was outside of GM hours that player was stuck until the GMs were available. The powers allow us to handle this situation immediately if the caller agrees. We are not able to use this power to get into player houses except to join our caller. It is not possible for example for a counselor to get into a house and bring a player with them, in fact, it is not possible for a counselor to enter a player house on their own. Prior to the powers, counselor characters could walk through all doors. So this is an avenue of potential exploitation that does not exist since the powers were issued. A few things are like this, there were trade-offs, we lost some powers to gain others.

My main point here is that we have been schooled to use these new powers only when the case warrants it and when it is beneficial to the caller. Not to benefit us. Personally, I only use them when they are the only way for me to avoid calling a GM and as I said, I have never had to use them in a disciplinary way.

Now, one other thing, we are not a taxi service :P Although, we have the ability to move about and move you as well, it is not part of our purpose to take you :

In and out of dungeons
To and from towns because you can�t find your rune or are out of reagents :P
Out of dangerous situations
To a town or shrine every time you die
To other players

Unless you are physically stuck or unable to continue play (cannot move) we will not transport you. This includes being lost, though that one is very tempting since I, myself, have no sense of direction whatsoever ;)

The next issue I will address here will be murder count calculation ;)

Oh and watch out! I was granted �Lady� before my name to denote my female state so you might see �Counselor Lady Damsel� now. :)
