Unlike my namesake, I wasn't sent on a journey to get killed. I willingly went to this weekend's East Coast UO Players Luncheon in that state known as New Jersey. Imagine my surprise when I was told it wasn't under Lord British's realm!

This was to be the real-life version of Britain's Counselor's Hall North Arlington style. Run by SRC Zaronia and Counselor Tigger (both GL smurfs, I'm proud to say:), players from as far away as Maryland I'm told came to meet others of like mind, differing playing styles, and lots of purple and blue robes. Lots of them. In fact, all of us got to sit at the head table. Tigger in black (she has a black sash in-game), Zaronia with her one pink cast (the power of the Gods gave her two pink gloves to wear in-game), and yes, me with my hat.

I'd tell you about the other counselors, but then I'd betray my loyalty to Grrreat Lakes, and I'm sure there'd be a lot of calls in the queue about that *smiles*

I've never been to a UO Luncheon before, so I didn't know what to expect. I thought there'd be a ton of questions about the game, and there wasn't. But, then again, I didn't see a bank nearby, so maybe that's why.

Instead, we all got to know one another. Everyone from the metalheads (yes, Tigger pegged them as PKs correctly:) to the cool father who took his son to come meet with other players chatted with one another with ease regardless of their primary shard. *mumbles something about being the only player from [blank] to show up*

There was one incident though. Someone screamed out Corp Por and I insticively went for my recall macro! Someone else instinctively thought In Vas Mani!

It was a lot of fun. Great food, great guests, and a few new friends.

And Zar, if you're reading this... you owe me. See, afterwards some of us went to a fair in Lyndhurst, and the evil k-rat fair coordinator wouldn't let her on with her pink cast. I gave her my shirt so she could hide it and ride the rides.

So thanks to Zar and Tigs for throwing the shindig, and for being such great hostesses.

Until next time...
