Howdy All!

This board was needed for a long time - no one quite sees Brittainia like a Counselor does!!

Story One- On Catskills, we have a gifted and fun-loving group of "Men in Blue" who believe in serving our community. One expression of that is the occasional role-playing jaunt to the Shadowclan orc fort, where the residents manage to capture and corral the gods in blue, who eventually find the means to escape... One of the most amazing features of the Shadowclan fort is a HUGE catapult located in the fort, drawn up and ready to be loaded and sprung. Once, there was an urgent "Stuck!!!" call which took us to the center of the orc fort - it seems that a "humie" invader in the heat of battle had somehow managed to wedge himself in the workings of the catapult, and the orcs were gleefully preparing to trip the device to eject this invader. There were two or three of us answering that call (it was dead slow) and none of us could figure out how he got in there. Finally, before the orcs managed to blast this player all the way to Vesper we used a little Counselor magic to free him from this unique predicament.

Story Two - A few days ago I answered a very typical call taking me to someone's cozy cabin far off in the woods for some discussion about skills and recent patches. There were two players there and I thought that the call was just about winding up when someone asked about a wedding. Automatically, I said "Sure, we do them all the time - we can even get some engraved rings for you and help you out with the service". In response, one of them said, "no, no, no... you don't understand! We, the TWO OF US, want a rather unconventional service and want to know if you can help us out". Looking around the room and counting only male noses, the meaning of "unconventional" dawned on me... "Ahhh", I said, "I'm cool with that, no problem, happens every day..." and told them that I certainly would like to see THIS Brittainian service... Who says that Brittainia is not a ready mirror of RL???

Story Three - It's been mentioned here before that dungeon calls are a favorite of Counselors, one reason being that the "light we shine on players" makes us stand out somewhat in that environment. This call took me to the Balron room, a place I had never before seen with any of my normal players. The call concerned the trouble the player was having in getting adequate illumination, even with black potions - I tried suggesting everything I could think of (including a reboot) but nothing brightened his day (his kids probably "adjusted" his monitor). Knowing that we are only there to assist but not to interene (isn't that similar to a Prime Directive I've seen somewhere else??? Hmmm..), I asked if I could hang around until the next call came in. Net result? The Counselor learned about a place he's never been and the player had enough "divine" light to do in the Lord of the Abyss...

See all of you around the Brit Guild Hall on Cats!
