Dried flowers? Dried onions? Where do I
put them, and how do I get them there? House decorating has come a long
way since the beginning, and the new house decorating tool makes things
so much easier. This nifty little tool can be bought at carpenter shops,
from the architect, at the bottom of his shopping list. They tend to be
a bit expensive, so if you can't afford one right now you can still decorate
your house in style, and I'm going to give you a few tips on just how to
do that!
To begin decorating without a tool, you'll need to collect a few things first.
Gather a lot of death robes (especially if you have a lot of lamps to hang)
,two small tables, and 4 boards. A few fish steaks or similar items will also
come in handy.
Decide where you wish to hang the lamp, or whatever you are trying to put on
the wall, stack the two small tables, then stack the boards, fish steaks or
other items on the top table, to the desired height. (I use only 3 items in
some spots)
Now, you have to be fast at this point! Stack the death robe on top of the boards,
and then the item you wish to hang on top of that, and lock the item down. Death
robes decay in 90 seconds!
This works with most items I've tried to hang, so go for it!
Have you ever tried to place ladderback chairs at a table? This is the most
frustrating thing I've ever tried to do until I found a trick to it! Place the
chair one square in the opposite direction you want the chair to sit. For example,
if you want the chair to face south, take the chair out of your pack and drop
it one square north of where you wish the chair to be, then pick it up and drop
it in the spot you wish the chair to sit. It should now be facing south!
There is a pair of sansals locked down on my front steps, and I've seen wheat
and hay locked down there as well. Here's how you can put almost anything on
your outside steps.
You'll need to get a lockable chest, and lock it down close to your door on
the inside. Lock the chest. (If you wish to hang lamps or other items out front
you can use the table/board/robe set up outlined above, just stack the stuff
on the steps.)
Place the item on the steps where you want it, then pick it up and drop it onto
the locked chest, the item will go back to where you had it and it will lock
down!
This locked down chest also works at the tops of stairs and at the wall leading
up the stairs as well. (Note: Some things have sence been modified and will
not lock down at the stairs no matter what you do)
Got rune books in every nook and cranny of your place? Here is a fix. You'll
need wooden benches and of course your rune books. As an example of this, along
a wall in a friends tower, I alternately stacked benches and rune books, 6 benches
high (each stack of benches houses 5 rune books), and 5 benches long. Instant
rune library.
Start by lining up five benches on the floor along the wall, then place a rune
book on top of each bench, locking everything down as you go. All that's left
to do is to keep stacking benches then rune books, until you have as many as
you need.
You can make what appears to be an entertainment center to keep your rune
books in order, too. You'll need two armoires, 6 benches, and 5 rune books.
Stack the benches and books as above, but on either side place the armoires.
If you are fortunate to have a furniture dye tub, this can look really
good when dyed.
A lot of people tell me they have trouble stacking things such as chests and
the like. It is hard to do at first but once you get the hang of it, it's really
easy.
Place a chest on the floor, pick up the other chest and line up your cursor
holding that chest with the bottom corner of the chest that is on the
floor. Make sure the cursor does not touch the chest that is on the floor,
(if you do the chest you are trying to stack on top will go inside), but
try to get as close to the chest as you can without touching it, and they
should stack.
Really, its just a matter of getting the hang of it. Just keep trying and dont
cuss to much!
Hanging pictures can be a hassle too, until you get the hang of it!
Walk to the wall you're going to hang the picture on, and turn around and take
one step away. Then pick up the picture and target the wall just above the floor
under where you want it to hang. It will usually go right on the wall..
But then again, there are those pictures that won't hang, you can click all
day and it just wont go! For those, I use the tables/boards and robe method.
You use only one table and single stack all four boards, then the death robe,
and then the picture. Lock the picture down and when the robe decays, ta-da!,
the stubborn pic is on the wall.
There are so many things you can change about the way things sit or hang, did
you ever notice that you can't put more than one thing on a table? Yes, you
can!
By using other things to stack on top of the item already locked down (using
the death robes as the inbetween) you can put one or more items on that same
table. For example, you've placed a pitcher of wine and you would like wine
glasses on the table as well. Stack one or two fish steaks on top of the bottle
of wine, put a death robe on top of the steaks and the wine glass on top of
that. Lock it down, and remove the fish when the robe decays. The wine glass
will be slightly above and to the left of the pitcher!
Want two wine glasses? Place one of the small tables in front of the table you're
working on, and stack two or three of the boards and a daeth robe on the small
table. What you want to see is that, when you put the wine glass on top of the
death robe, it should look as if it is sitting on the table (it will actually
be in front of the table). Lock the glass down and, when the robe decays, it
should look as if two wine glasses and a bottle of wine are all on the table.
I hope this has helped make decorating a bit easier, there is so much more I
want to tell you but it will have to wait until next time!
There is only one rule to decorating.....And that is there are no rules!
So go for it, if you think something will work, try it!
Good luck!

you an example of how to create advanced decorations.
Fellows Hybrid Piano
Hail fellow Adventurers! Below are the instructions for the piano you
see above. This is a hybrid I created after getting frustrated trying to
build the other style pianos you see about Sosaria. I hope they aren't
too complicated as I have tried me best to keep em simple. I have tried
to keep the lockdowns needed to a minimum. This piano takes a maximum of
24 lockdowns and a minimum of 20 lockdowns to complete. When you are done
reading this page you will have the ability to create a very nice piano
on your own. Here we go!
