Building a large statue, by Jared of Europa |
Building a large sitting statue
I intended to build a statue of a sitting Buddha, and this is my first go at it.
The instructions below allow you to duplicate the statue, and I hope it helps you improve
it! If you do come up with an improvement, let me know!
The instructions are fairly straightforward, but adding the head to the statue
does require the trick of making extra-high stacks, as pioneered by Kiral (see the section on
large waterfalls).
This means that the statue can only be built in certain house types, and in certain
positions within the house. I choose the log cabin because the statue goes well with the
cavernous appearance of the ground floor.
This is what we're trying to build
We will use the 4 available types of folded cloth. The different
types are referred to as cloth A, B, C and D as in the picture.
We'll build the statue in this order: left torso + head, right torso, left leg, right leg.
Left Torso
Stack in the exact position as in the example picture:
- 6 shadow ore, or a small table, as a seat
- 8 Plain dresses
- add 2x Cloth D and a skirt, then drag the cloth to your spellbook and let it snap back
- add 2x Cloth C and a skirt, drag the cloth to your spellbook
- add Pile of wool
Head:
This is the tricky bit. Climb the ladder to the 2nd floor, so that you are on the second half of the
ladder, but not quite on the 2nd floor yet. Turn Circle of Transparency on so that you can see the base
of the left torso. From that position, add the following to the same stack:
- 2x Pile of wool
- 2x Pile of wool
- Pile of wool
- 2x Emerald
Left leg
To the south of the left torso stack, place:
- Cloth B
- Cloth B
- Grey bowl
- spacer (such as a fish stake)
- Add a Grey bowl and a Shirt, drag the bowl to your spellbook and let it snap back
- Add a Shirt
- Add Grey bowl and a Shirt, drag the bowl to your spellbook
- Add Pile of wool
- Cloth D
- Cloth D
Right body
East of the left torso, stack:
- 6x shadow ore or a small table
- Add 2x Cloth D and a plain dress, drag the Cloth to your spellbook
- repeat the previous step
- Add 2x Cloth D and a Pile of wool, drag the Cloth to your spellbook
- repeat the previous step another 5 times
- 2x Cloth D
- 2x Cloth D
- 1x Cloth D
Right leg
East of the left leg, stack:
- Cloth B
- Cloth B
- Grey bowl
- spacer (fish steak)
- Add a Grey bowl and a Shirt, drag the bowl to your spellbook
- Add a Shirt
- Add a Grey bowl and a Shirt, drag the bowl to your spellbook
- Pile of wool
- Cloth C
- Cloth C
Don't forget to lock the items down as you work!
