Nathan Hawke arrived to a room where every seat was filled, as everyone knew the mission that night would be very important to the wellbeing of Sosaria.

Nathan got right to business by addressing reports of diamonds.

Quote:
Nathan Hawke: "Aye, Odd shaped Diamonds."

Varia: "Now disappeared"

Nathan Hawke: "Yes I fetched them, So I have four diamonds, I have them very safe.. In my pocket. As some of you know there is a new construction near the Savage base.

Now this leads me to believe, as some may have sumirised also that there is a correlatiom between the diamonds and the new construction. So the plane is simple, fit the diamonds into the construction and see what transpires."

Traveler: "Sky will fall."

Horizon: "You sure that's a good idea?"

Bunnie: "Worst idea ever."
Traveler then suggesting using fake diamonds, But Nathan was assured they would not work and gathered the real diamonds would open up a portal to an underground place, likely the resting place for the Skull of Antirez.

Lady Louisa Clark Brings Monk Robe Chic Back to Great Lakes ~

Is brown the new black ? Well, one would think so if they were traveling the lands of the Great Lakes yesterday.

The memorable event that started at the Yew Abby was inspired by the memory of Brialla. As the crowd gathered most were dressed in the traditional brown robe once worn by Brialla as she walked the lands far and wide in her bare feet.

There were a few that did not wear the requested brown robe in memory of this special Great Lakes icon. Maybe the Monk Robe fabric was too rough on their skin, maybe brown did not go with their complexion, regardless many thought it as disrespectful.
The creative ones found the way to make brown work for them and accented with grand style. Below are a few of the stylish working brown like they were on a catwalk!

Of course this event was not truly about being a fashionistas but a tribute to Brialla.
From the many tomes by and about Brialla one may think they know her but this journey from the Abby to The Barnacle proved more questions than answers. Possibly just more dimensions to this interesting lady of history.

Lady Louisa Clark was our guide and leader for this historic walk.
The walk was long and though the stylish brown monk robes kept us warm our bare feet were so cold most of us could not feel our toes.
Even the majestic yew trees gave us no warmth.

We made many stops on our way to The Barnacle and crossed paths with many story tellers, all with tales of Brialla, from guards to gypsys.

The most disturbing was when the ghost of Brialla herself appeared. Both lite and myself commented on how we disliked ghosts, even the thought of ghosts. Below are a few of the story tellers we passed by and the ghost of Brialla.

By the time we arrived at The Barnacle my head was swimming with Brialla stories about wild bee swarms to murder. I was not the only one in need of some ale and glow from the fireplace.

This spoken during one of the last tales about Brialla has stuck with me and I would like to share it with our readers.

JUSTICE MUST SOMETIMES CHOOSE BETWEEN COMPASSION AND HONESTY

Battle Chickens! and Rat Wrangling!

Posted on Sunday, January 30, 2011, 7:55 PM EST by Rabid Chipmunk (LegendsAOL)

January's Battle Chicken Lizard Tournament while sparsely attended proved to be interesting non the less. There were only two competitors this time, Lady Alice Wonderland, and the champ, Hunter S Tompson.

It was decided that since there were no other challenges to his reign as Overlord of Battle Chickendom, that their match would be a best of three. The first fight was a remarkable one, with Lady Alice's chicken, a Um from Umbridge barely edging out Hunter's, The Great Melinko.

The second round was a surprising repeat of the first round! Everyone in attendance expected the match to go at least the full threee rounds. It appears that the Great Melinko has finally met his match in the lime green body of a Um from Umbridge.

A new twist however was introduced this month. The champion of the month will decide what type of pets will be fighting in the following month. This month's champion Alice, made the suggestion that we fight Leather Wolves, with a backup suggestion of Sheep! Confirmation of which will be the selected animal will be provided as soon as its available.

After the tournament was over and the prize was awarded, we played a new game of Rat Wrangling. Everyone piled into the arena and on the word GO! attempted to tame as many rats as they could.

The Champion Rat Wrangler for this month was Keeper of Dragons, who should take the name Keeper of Rats now as he managed to tame five (5) rats in the final round!

Heart and Soul

>>> Felucca Facet News <<<

Siege Perilous.

Many think of this as a fearsome place. Many see it as a land in which every step beyond the front door could result in some evil-doer leaping out to slit their throats. A land of hardship, in which the flickering candlelight at the end of the dungeon is always one breath away from being blown out...forever.

But then, there are those who are not cowed by children's tales.

Siege is a land, much like any other. It has trees – perhaps a few more dead ones than other lands, but it has trees. Bushes, animals, both tame and wild. Ore for the mining, lumber for the chopping.
Danger? Aye. There is that. But there are also friends to be found here, the likes of which no other land has ever seen. The recent sale of the house in the Abyss is the latest – and some would say, the greatest – example of how much this community cares. Some would feel that their own personal experiences deserve that prize. The tale of the Abyss house will soon take its place amongst the legends of Siege, that much is certain, and the efforts of Kelmo, and all who stood by him in this, will not be forgotten. You are heroes, one and all.

I have a few short stories to tell, of recent days gone by, which I feel tell of the true heart of the strange land called Siege Perilous. So, pull up a stool, and join me by the fire, as I try to do justice to these good folks hearts and deeds.

The day of the EArthquake
“Strange, there used to be a floor there...” he thought as he passed through the mystic portal between the Spirit Realm and the lands of Siege Perilous. Cautiously prodding the air with his toe, as he inexplicably hovered in mid air, Blind Otto heard the sounds of rummaging below him. “Intruders!” he thought, and reached for his mace. Taking a step forward, he found that not only was the floor not there, the entire house had apparently dissolved into nothingness – and the portal had deposited him where the top floor used to be.

Landing face-first in the tragic remains of his death robe collection, Otto cursed the fickle powers of the land. Not two days past, the rent had been paid. All doors had been opened and closed, and were in working order, and the strange devices attached to the house sign had appeared to be in working order, too. Yet, there was nothing to show for it save the splinters of ransacked crates, and a few parrots squawking sadly over the demise of their perches. blind_otto_siege_2011_01_22_keep_01.jpg Friends, this was what greeted me, as I came to pay my respects to the land I miss and love. There is little that would have made it a harsher welcome, save perhaps, being slain by one of my own looted weapons, as I stood in the ruins. Thankfully, that did not happen.

No, instead good people started to emerge from the trees and bushes. A stealthy hand pressed some items into mine - “Here, I had to save some mementos for ye” a voice whispered. Another unseen soul casually dropped a box of books in my path, as I walked around. Then I hear the voice of an old friend, offering help and condolences, as Kelmo arrived on the scene. In the hours and days that followed, he went to great lengths, and great cost, to help me. Many did – some whose names I will never know – but whether publicly or anonymously, this was an outpouring of aid so great, it reduced this old miner to tears. Miranda's efforts were amazing, and words fail me when it comes to all that Holden Caulfield did for me! In the past few days, I have been overwhelmed even more by the kindness of this land's good people. As this year began, it seemed I was homeless. Now, I hold a fine keep AND I have a majestic galleon to pilot! I must warn any who still sail the seas in the older boats, there is a blind man ricocheting off the islands and denting the serpent pillars these days! They have yet to train any sea horses as guides for the blind, I fear.

Siege Perilous, many have said over the years, is a harsh land. A place filled with loss, where your life and belongings can be ripped from you at a moment's notice. That is true – I must admit, I didn't expect it to happen to me in the way that it did, to be struck down by those who are supposed to guard and shape the land – but, aye, Siege Perilous is well named. It is a perilous place.

It is also a place filled with the greatest community that any land has ever known.
In times of grief, in times of trouble, it is impossible to feel alone.

Thank you, my friends, one and all. You are the greatest treasure this land will ever hold, and the greatest that I have had the privilege to know.

The Calamity of Calibretto's Castle

Vortex walked the familiar halls of his old home, smiling at the intricate ways that the new owner had decorated every inch. He had long since moved on to a new location, one which he was perfectly happy with – but every now and then, this old castle called him back. Taking a last look at the battlements, he walked down the passage to the front door – and paused. Something had bounced off his gauntlet. Nothing big – not a harsh blow – but enough to startle him. Turning, he saw no one there. A ghost? One of those stealthy killers from Tokuno? Or just a thief, hoping to lift a treasure or two?

“Show thyself, if ye be not a coward!” He yelled. Nothing but echoes answered him. He glanced down, sword at the ready, just in case... and stopped. A small piece of stone lay on the fine carpet.
Looking up, he gazed with horror on a steadily growing crack in the ceiling. Another chunk of stone fell, narrowly missing him. “NO!!!” He yelled, and threw himself towards the door, just as the first full roof stone embedded itself in the spot where he had been standing. It lay there, half-upright, almost like a tombstone, giving portents of what would soon come.

Outside, Vortex's gaze ran across the stonework. He had seen this phenomenon before, but never expected to find it here. The castle had fallen under the curse of the eid'oc. Something had to be done – and quickly. Leaping onto his horse, Vortex rode towards the homes of Gilfane as if the Harrower itself was after him.

Messengers ran across the land, and pigeons filled the air, all trying to get a message to Calibretto. “Your castle is in the greatest of peril!” they all read, shouted, or beat on their drums. All, it seemed, to no avail. The days crawled by, and the wear on the castle became visible from far off. Then, the vultures began to circle above the ramparts.

Gilfane assembled all the forces it was able in a small fort next to the castle. If Calibretto was to arrive, it might not be in time. These curses can be unpredictable at the best of times, as many have learned to their horror. The hour drew near, and there was no sign of Calibretto.

Looters, scavengers, dire wolves and ettins walked the fields around the decaying building, as the day wore on. A small fleet of ships took their places along the shoreline. Then, without a sound, the walls, the rooftops, the doors – every sign of the castle – turned to dust and was blown away by the wind. The dust settles... Battle was heated. Stealthy salvagers hauled all they could from the wreckage, into the fortress and other surrounding buildings, as fireballs and earthquakes rattled around the area. Some items were indeed lost that day – but each one saved was considered a victory.
When all was said and done, we built as large a building as possible at short notice where the castle had stood. We could only manage to get a keep there, but hope prevails that a more skilled craftsman or woman can achieve greater things! One of the looters proved that it takes no skill to achieve lesser things, but that is neither here nor there.

From the paintings that were taken before the fall, it seems likely that the castle can be restored to its former glory one day – and, given the generosity of the good folks of Siege Perilous, it may even exceed it.

Calibretto was heard from the next day, just as the lore of Sodd would have it. We can only hope that the greatest loss that day was not the loss of one of Gilfane's kinsmen.

Camping Luna!

The call went out! “Come and camp Luna!” they cried!
Well, the test run went well enough. Next time, the organisers hope to pick a time when people are actually awake. Still – “A” for effort, folks – better luck next time!

Camping Luna

You might think this is taking a swing at the size of Siege's population. Well, no, it isn't.
The timing could have been better – but, here are people who are trying to get all of us involved in something. Bank Camping has never been one of my favourite sports, but it was good to see people in Luna again. I'm not sure why – I've always despised Luna – but somehow, it felt good.

People are here. Amazing people. You just need to know where to look, and to have that rarest of virtues - patience!

divider_blood.gif

A rather harrowing experience
I felt the need to hit something. People had been incredibly kind, after my house collapse, but still... there was that urge... Contacting the Great Ones had been fruitless. I do, however, now have a classic gear for my music box, of one of them singing the timeless melody “We cannot replace the lost”. Some old songs never die, much as we might wish they would.

In any regard, I needed to feel some vile creature's skull crumbling to fragments beneath my mace. As luck would have it, Hoffs had been playing with some strange skulls in the Star room, and soon news rang out, that the dread creature known as the Harrower had been sighted in Dungeon Wrong. blind_otto_siege_2011_01_22_harrower_01.jpg We couldn't very well leave it there, so a group of us assembled, and sent in wave after wave of dragons to eat the beast's tentacles. How even a dragon can stomach such a meal, I will never know, but they seemed none the worse for wear. My armour, however, was not to be as lucky. The first, false harrower struck me down and destroyed my corpse in a flash. Thankfully, some of my fellow harrower-bashers had the foresight to bring some spares, thus saving me from appearing in these paintings wearing little more than a death robe.

After what felt like an eternity, but wasn't, I heard a muffled thud as the creature hit the floor, and a ghastly wheezing noise, which I took to be it drawing its last breath. As it turns out, Hoffs has an allergy to elves, and had stood too close to one in the battle, but as the legend grows, I am sure the tale will be told of the harrower's last breath.

I have to admit, there are few things which can relieve frustration as well as a good fight, with good friends, and evil monsters! Aye, many have slain harrowers before, and I am sure many will slay them again, but they can tell their own tales. This one was ours.

divider_blood.gif

Siege Perilous is full of tales of daring, of hard-won battles, of people overcoming impossible odds. Stories of friends who fought to their last breath, who went to the ends of the lands to help others, and those who gave of their time, their goods, and themselves, to see justice done, and the helpless helped.

I remember those who gathered to honour and remember Folger, and those who stood with tears flowing in memory of Aeric Horn. I smile when I think of those who stood shoulder to shoulder, to help save the Temple of Mithras, and the first time I saw KSS – a tide of blue, sweeping in to drive away those who were attacking NEW. I recall weddings, parties, victories and defeats, hours spent helping new arrivals and learning from old friends. I fondly remember friends from KSS, Wispwood Shire, Iantown, and other clans, towns and villages, and I somehow manage to miss the evil ones from VmP and the undead, and narrow escapes from the pirates of RUM.
And now, even today, we have the massive efforts led by Kelmo to buy the Abyss house.
All these memories built Siege into what it is today. EA gave us a landscape. People gave us a community.

Those are some of my memories, of friendship, of good times, and of the things of legend – the things that make Siege great. Not “made”. Make. Memories are being made all the time, in this amazing place. I hope that those of ye with good memories will then help me, and recant your own memories - new or old - of amazing deeds, unexpected aid, and unforgettable friends.

Come – let us hear yours.

They gathered on the front lawn, unsure of what had transpired in the house before them. The Butler had the smile of a Cheshire cat as he greeted them warmly. When four of them had gathered..... Draco the Mule, Chesty McChest, Lord Urza and Ynise Amandil..... the Butler began a tale of murder. Someone had committed the act in the house, and it was one of the four! He told them that it had been put upon themselves to discover which of the troop was the murderer and each were given a small bag containing evidence that had been gathered.

Room by room they went, observing everything and, on occasion, making accusations of one another! The evidence bags exonerated each person until they reached the sitting room. Chesty and Ynise were inching their way towards the bedroom to begin questioning suspects there when Ynise turned, pointed a finger and said "Draco, was it you in this sitting room with a rusty iron key?" One by one the guests were queried and none could refute the claim with hard evidence. Draco was caught!

After the game we all went out to admire the recently erected Town Banner. It is a wonderful design and if you have not yet, please read the story of the The Settlement of Ta'b'gnom.

EM Event: Prelude to Destruction

by Barnaby

While most of Britain slept, Olivia Kanlocke prepared to leave her quarters. The hour was late, but the Commander of the Royal Guard was restless on this night – as she had been most nights in recent memory. With the Queen’s husband still missing and rumors that Virtuebane was now traveling with his troops, the atmosphere in the castle and among the Guard was dark. The revelation that Ix Tab and Relvinian had begun their summoning only served to compound the grim mood. Still, she did not rise to her station by shaking in the face of adversity.

“We will stand firm,” she whispered to a dark, empty room.

With that she left for her office – she had orders to deliver.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The call has come for all regiments of the Guard and unattached guardsmen to mobilize immediately. Reports of unusually aggressive monster and animal attacks have begun to come in from across the realm. Orders will begin being dispensed outside of the castle starting at 5pm EST tomorrow, Friday the 28th. The Guard should maintain a heightened sense of readiness throughout the weekend. Reports will be expected from a ranking officer of each regiment.
[OOC: Consider this a warm-up for Sunday's "main event". There will be multiple situations that need to be handled, each designed for smaller groups.They will be spread out - not all start at 5pm.]
EM Elizabella Does Lady Lava's Questionnaire
How long have you been playing UO and when did you first hear of this game?
Since spring of 1998. One of my friends had started earlier and was obsessed with UO, so I thought I'd give it a try.
What was the very first computer game you ever played?
Oregon Trail. I loved every aspect of it, from buying supplies to hunting to rafting down the Dalles.
If must be very exciting to be an EM on Great Lakes as it is a very active shard. What do you like most about being an EM?
I see myself as part of a long line of EMs, seers, and counselors who've made Great Lakes unique. It's amazing to be able to add to the history of GL. I can revive or bring to our shard traditions like Brialla's walk, the Walrus Festival, and the Festival of Masks, and put a new twist on them. I can weave my own characters and events into the history of the shard as well. I'm particularly proud of our Award Hall & Museum, because we've all, the EMs and the players, helped build it, exhibit by exhibit.
This is the burning question everyone wants to know. Are you female in real life?
Yes
What was the inspiration for the name Elizabella?
It was at the top of my list of "Names I Love but Could Never Give an Actual Kid". It's a beautiful name in print, but in real life everyone would misspell it because it sounds so much like Isabella.
What location in the realm do you think is the most beautiful?
There are many beautiful spots in Ilshenar: the Serpentine Passage, Terort Skitas, and the fiery falls of Montor. The most peaceful may be the pond just east of the Twin Oaks Tavern.
What location/place have you been to in real life that you think is the most beautiful?
There's a lake across the street with ducks and geese and swans. It has a walking path lined with wildflowers, and trees that drop tiny pink petals.
What is your favorite color?
Blue
If you were to die and come back as an animal which would it be and why?
The Loch Ness monster. Think how surprised everyone would be!
What do you admire most in a woman?
Confidence, self-respect, and strong reasoning skills
What do you admire most in a man?
Honesty, cleverness, and thoughtfulness
Who is your favorite character in fiction?
Granny Weatherwax
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
A snowy Saturday in December, drinking hot cocoa that's mostly marshmallows, and watching A Charlie Brown Christmas with my husband.
Which talent would you most like to have?
It would be really useful to be able to pause time. Who couldn't use an extra five minutes here and there?
What is your favorite snack or junk food?
Chocolate-covered cherries
What do you value most in your friends?
Loyalty
What is your motto?
I like the Auntie Mame quote: Life is a banquet!
Paxlair 13th Anniversary Recap!
Return to TopSubmit News!
Posted on Wednesday, January 26, 2011, 5:53 PM EST by Morpheus Mardox (Chesapeake)
                                                                 Paxlair 13th Anniversary Recap
                                                                                         by
                                                                            The Paxlair Times
PaxLair 13th Anniversary: Day 1
PaxLair City, Felucca, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – January 15, 2011 – by Ashlynn – The opening day of the PaxLair 13th anniversary proved to be both fun and eventful with a grand speech, a regatta, a few deaths and other fun an games!
Governor Winfield started off the anniversary with a long speech to the crowd about how old the city was and how it still stands as an enduring shining beacon against the darkness (though I must add I am slightly paraphrasing things here). Drawn to that beacon were a few other guests who ensured we received an sufficiently authentic Feluccan experience!
The Governor gives another of his famous speeches!
After the opening speech, it was off to Nujelm where we prepared our ships to race in the regatta, with time allowed for latecomers to register their entry into the contest. The race involved sailing to specific locations and collecting a book containing instructions on where to sail next. Those brave mariners taking part in the contest were:
  • Balthier Trakand of the Malevolence
  • Ashlynn (and Mr Clean) of the Blossom Cutter
  • Winfield of the Peril of the Sea
  • Jamlyn Hakkendyn (and Ivan) of the Mazrim’s Angst
  • Fanny Firebottom in a traditional Britannian longship
  • Sinjin also piloting a traditional Britannian longship
Lacking any sailing skill of my own, I had Mr Clean pilot my vessel.
The final results of the race were:
  1. Balthier Trakand of the Malevolence
  2. Winfield of the Peril of the Sea
  3. Ashlynn of the Blossom Cutter
When the regatta was over, we were given a tour of a very old building in Felucca by Sinjin, the leader of a very old guild called The Sillyhood. The building was the old guildhall and had several items on display from past members, kept to honour their memories.
Sinjin tells us all about the Sillyhood and their home near Yew Gate.
 Finally, everyone retired to the Saloon in PaxLair City where we enjoyed a few ales and a game or two of Hangman. Though the first day is over, there are still four more days of celebration and events which we are all looking forward to!
PaxLair 13th Anniversary: Day 2
PaxOku, Tokuno, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – January 16, 2011 – by Ashlynn – Events continued on the second day of the anniversary celebrations and events included a tour of the old lands led by Lady Winmere, a strange game that involved livestock run by myself, and a parade through the lands led by Governor Winfield.
Lady Winmere tells us the history of the Kreuger Memorial.
The evening began with a gathering in PaxOku outside the Tea House where we were met by Lady Winmere who gave us a tour of a number of old shrines, memorials and other structures throughout Felucca. Some of the places we visited included a large temple in the mountains of Dagger Isle, a camp built by the famous Dupre, a lucky tree of some sort that required a gentle kiss, the Stormbringer Estate, and the Tower of Souls. Two memorials dedicated to past citizens of the realm were also amongst the places visited.
Events were then put on hold for an hour by the weekly Hall of Commons held near Britain with a number of people attending as others prepared for the evening’s contest. A mighty battle of champions with heroes from all across the realm that would be forever known as…
Brave champions prepare for a contest of colossal proportions.
…The Cow Event. An unassuming name for an extremely challenging game. The champions participating in the event all gathered at a field and barn on North Jhelom Island where the rules and aim of the game were explained. All the contestants had to do was take an empty pitcher one at a time, find a cow in the field and milk it. The person who milked the most in ten minutes would be the winner.
Although things were a little disorganised, the game proceeded without any major problems and at the end of the contest there were actually three winners instead of one as can be seen in the results below:
  • Winmere: 736 pitchers (Although some had appeared through some kind of strange esoterica, so she withdrew her result.)
  • Grimlar Mithrax: 8 pitchers
  • Robin Hood: 8 pitchers
  • Wat the Tyler: 8 pitchers
  • Yoshi: 5 pitchers
  • Winfield: 4 pitchers
  • NANOC: 3 pitchers
  • Ga’kuct: 0 pitchers (I suspect orcs don’t know what an udder is for.)
  • Phoenix: 0 pitchers (Sadly, she had to retire early.)
After prizes were handed out (with some kindly donated by Wat the Tyler) everyone left to gather at the community centre in Skara Brae from where Governor Winfield would begin the parade. The parade took our group across Britannia from Nidaros to the dungeon of Shame where we skirmished with the elemental denziens of that cave for some time. After feeling satisfied that the elementals had shared in the anniversary celebrations, we all returned to the Tea House and bid each other good night while looking forward to a third day of events!
PaxLair 13th Anniversary: Day 3
Luna, Malas, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – January 17, 2011 – by Ashlynn – Gameshows and archery marked the third day of the contest with Let’s Make a Deal hosted by Dragons Watch and Se’an Silverfoot’s very own PaxLair Archery Championship.
Lady Phoenix tempts the contestants with what's in the box!
Unfortunately, this diligent reporter was a little late in arriving at the Dragons Watch Community Centre in Malas where the game was already well underway as I arrived. Lady Phoenix was the host and carefully deciding whether to keep hold of a prize or trade it for the possibility of something better was the aim. I myself opted for the chance appearance of a chocolate bunny but Lady Luck was not on my side and I walked away with nothing.
After the game everyone adjourned to the PaxLair Saloon where a quick round of Hangman was played while Se’an prepared for his contest. Lord Nanoc dared to brave the hangman’s noose and lost!
There were a lot of master bowmen present!
Finally it was time for the archery contest itself. Lord Se’an had decided that Luna Fairground would make a fine venue and the turnout seemed to confirm such a wise choice. Many marksman signed up and even a few people who had never handled a bow before. The contest soon began with many closely fought rounds especially in the latter stages, one between Enterprise and Angel of death being particularly memorable. As well as first, second and third place, there was a prize for the highest score in a round, a score which Valoria commanded for much of the game before her place was stolen away by Nihility.
The final results were:
  1. Angel of Death (RBG)
  2. Nihility (CFM)
  3. Suchi (DWxC)
  • Highest Score: Nihility (CFM) – 800pts (Which Lord Se’an informed me was quite an amazing feat and rarely seen.)
PaxLair 13th Anniversary: Day 4
PaxOku, Tokuno, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – January 18, 2011 – by Ashlynn – There were yet more fun festivities on the fourth day of the anniversary celebration. Day four featured a fun game of musical chairs and a dual maze event organised by Shef of Aryslan.
The contestants prepare to do battle!
Magical Musical Chairs was hosted by Lady Winmere and Lord Grimlar Mithrax and held in PaxOku at a towering stone structure in the middle of the town (or two). Based on the traditional game we are all familiar with, there were a few additional hazards; mainly running into other people, but also falling off the roof to your death below.
Fortunately, no one did fall and the last person standing (or should I say sitting) at the end of the game was Lord Enterprise in first place, followed by Doctore in second and Robin Hood in third.
The second event of the evening was the amazing dual maze, which was actually two mazes. The first was located in Aryslan on the facet of Felucca, while the second was to be found in Malas and those wishing to compete were to decide which maze they wanted to play at the beginning of the event. The Aryslan maze was far more dangerous and competitors were permitted to attack each other in the narrow corridors, while the maze in Malas was a more traditional labyrinthine puzzle with a goal of reaching the end.
We await the others to escape the clutches of the minotaur.
I opted for the Malas maze myself and found it to be quite challenging though I eventually managed to reach the end first. I was followed by Nanoc in second place who also commented on its devious design. As for the Aryslan Maze, I am unsure of the results at present but I did hear that it was a particularly bloody affair as intended I imagine!
At the end of the event, some of us moved on to the neighbouring Silent Auction House to discuss the days events and those still to come, as well as ideas for future games and contests. Tommorow marks the final day of the celebrations; Anniversary Day itself. As well as a formal sit-down dinner, there are still more events to come!
PaxLair 13th Anniversary: Day 5 – Anniversary Day!
PaxLair City, Felucca, Chesapeake (PaxLair Times) – January 19, 2011 – by Ashlynn – Today marked the final day of celebrations and anniversary day itself in the PaxLair Statehood. Events to mark the grand occasion included Mage Poker and a great gathering of friends, followed by another of Governor Winfield’s famous speeches.
Mage Poker was hosted by Lady Phoenix and she had decided that old Farmer Charlie’s estate would be a fine place to stage the event. After passing through an encampment of my Bane Chosen friends, I arrived to find the place in a real state of disrepair. Broken fences, rotting doors, shattered rooftile. I wondered for a moment if some of his neighbours such as the Meer had been responsible, but my attention was once again with Lady Phoenix as she explained the rules.
The llama proved particularly difficult to summon.
She would call out a number of animals; mundane creatures only of course, not elementals, wisps, pixies or bees (something which left me observing). The first person to successfully summon all the creatures through the use of the Summon Creature spell would win the round and the prize on offer.
Several rounds of the game were played with the prize at times reaching a hundred thousand for more difficult combinations of animals. It certainly seemed enjoyable and left me wondering if I should invest in a little training in the arcane.
After the game was done, we all made our way to the Mage Tower in PaxLair and gathered on the benches before the Governors Table. There were many people present including one by the name of Neo of Lothlore who had returned after some time away. Governor Winfield addressed those gathered stating it would not be a formal dinner, but a more informal celebration allowing everyone to mingle before his closing speech.
There was something of a dash for the food and booze after the Governor pointed it out.
Sadly, I had to retire early and cross the veil of sleep before the speech was given but I’ve no doubt that the celebrations continued well into the morning leaving everyone with nothing but hazy, happy alcohol-enriched memories of the occasion!
Though the anniversary is over, we all look forward to the year ahead, and a week of fun and interesting events has already left everyone with some inspiration for the months to come. I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful support over the anniversary and hope to see everyone at the next one!
        Congratulations to the Paxlair statehood and all its allies from all of us here at UO Stratics, here's to thirteen more!
[EM EVENT] Owain summons all who will fight to decide their fate
.
Who will stand guard at the end of all things? Sunday, January 30th, 7 p.m. EST.
by Kasaven
Ix Tab hovered over the tome, never averting her gaze from its cryptic contents.
She read aloud, her words echoing through the empty dungeon.
“And as the task begins, the two moons of Sosaria will glow a terrible blood-red, a sight as ungodly as the black-arts, as unworldly as the abyss. This shall come to represent the bloodshed that will wash over the land and its inhabitants.
In the coming days, the two shall unleash those who have watched over The Guardian.
The power of the artifact, which shall be invigorated by forsaken souls,will grant them a dark theurgy to lead over the Daemons of old.
With this will come great suffering, as the Dark Queen comes to power. Only one of prophetic purpose can sway this grim history, at the forfeiture of his life.” “And when her reign begins, it cannot end. Forever will Sosaria cower before the red glow of the tainted moons. Forever will its people crawl before the Daemons and their Goddess. Forever will become a hopeless eternity. An unending torment.”
She closed the massive tome of Kaltivel and turned her attention toward Relvinian. Across the room, his fleshless finger followed a line of text as he studied a book on daemonic summoning.
“It is time,” Ix Tab hissed. Relvinian’s face contorted into a grin, revealing a yellow tongue surrounded by decayed teeth.
His loose, decrepit flesh matched the gray of his robe. He reached into one of his pockets, hesitated, then withdrew an empty hand. “Once we’ve achieved the summoning, what assurance do I have that you won’t simply go against your word?”
Ix walked toward him. “Don’t you trust me, master magician? No one can rule without council.”
Relvinian had little choice, whether he trusted her or not. He reached into his robe and retrieved the fragment of the Great Red Gem. He rubbed it between his fingers once more before setting it on the podium in front of Ix Tab.
She reached for it immediately, as if he would change his mind. She walked to the corner of the room where a faint red glow emanated from beneath a heavy cloth. She cast aside the cloth to reveal the conversion crystal. The energy of the dead coursed through it giving it life, like blood through veins. The gem fragment began to shake in her hand, anticipating its fate.
She placed the fragment next to the conversion crystal. It adhered itself immediately and began to glow a brilliant red. Ix Tab smiled. A black fog began to grow inside the conversion crystal, swirling and spinning as it grew in size. A hand formed from the fog, pressing against the crystal as if looking to escape. Ix observed, mesmerized by the process.
In a flash of light, the hand burst from the crystal, oozing red matter all over the floor. It grasped aimlessly in the air until it found what it sought–the gem fragment. Ix held her clawed hand before her eyes as the room filled with a fiery light. Relvinian looked on through empty sockets, unfazed. Black smoke rose from the hand as if the gem seared its flesh. It pulled the gem inward, withdrawing into the conversion crystal.
The hand slowly began to transform into a face. Fingers changed to teeth–the wrist into a jaw. The face inside the crystal stretched its mouth impossibly wide and let out a piercing wail. The red ooze that littered the floor danced, snaking its way up from the ground and back inside of the crystal, into the waiting mouth. The red eyes faded. The face withered into nothingness as the crystal became whole again. The fusion was complete.
Ix placed her arm around Relvinian.
“It begins.”
Owain felt a pang of wrong pierce through his mind like a blow to the head. He stood up, staggering for a moment. He walked down the steps of Despise and out the front of the cavern. His heart fell as he looked skyward. The moons emanated an eldritch red glow across everything he set eyes on. The snow on the mountains took on the red hue of bloodshed.
“It comes to this,” he said. “A final stand against a daemon queen and a mad magician, against the end of all things.”
Nathan Hawke arrived at the meeting hall with an important mission, Reports from Yew Orc Fort came in regarding a book.
The book said:
Quote:
"We will then launch an attack on that damned Astronomer who is spying on our bases."
Immediately the Royal Guard moved out to Moonglow and to the Telescope.
Selcius arrived back and checked over the telescope, There were some minor dents and scratches but overall it would be able to continue to spy on the Savages.
Back at the Counsellor's Hall, Nathan began to debrief. He decided the best thing to do was announce Selcius had been killed and the telescope destroyed.
He said we would meet on or before Sunday to continue as the Savages were preparing to go deep to collect the Skull of Antirez!
Brialla's Journey, Friday, January 28th, at 8 p.m. CST
Brialla's Journey, Friday, January 28th, at 8 p.m. CST
Brialla of the Seven Tears was the first to chart the mysterious north lands of Britannia. Brialla set out from Yew, in her humble brown monk's robe and bare feet, to push back the dark corners of the map. Her journals are rich with illustrations and detailed descriptions of the terrain, its plants and animals, and the nomads she met along the way. She even found the mineral deposits in the mountains by what would become Minoc.
Every year, on January 28th, the people of Britannia celebrate Brialla's journey by donning monks' robes and walking barefoot from Yew to Minoc. There, they toast to her memory in the tavern. All are encouraged to tell whatever legends they've heard of Brialla's journey or to describe their own adventures.
Meet Louisa Clark in front of Empath Abbey on Friday, January 28th, at 8 p.m. CST. The road is likely to be unusually clear of monsters that evening, so you'll have plenty of time to think up a good story for the tavern. The best tales will be added to the Award Hall.
Nathan Hawke arrived to a full house at the Counsellor's Hall last night and after a quick reminder about attendance books he recapped the Savage story.
Quote:
Nathan Hawke: "We discovered the existence of a secret service operating out of Nujelm. By hook and crook we managed to eliminate at least one part of that organisation and in doing so we discovered that the leader of that part was called Kurtes.
Kurtes was trying to raise an army of savages and he had instructed them somehow on how to interrupt the flow of magic throughout the lands or at least on how to try and do this. It seems from talking to Selcius that this is indeed taking place as we speak."
Quote:
Nathan Hawke: "So tonights mission is to investigate these savage altars and look for clues."
Nathan opened a gate to the first Altar at the Britain Swamps.
The Altar appeared to be covered in blood and savages guarding the area.
The savages took a while to kill, Mainly due to their high hit point regeneration.
After the Savages had been killed Varia had found a clue, It said:
Quote:
Despite our best efforts we still have not interrupted the ley lines sufficiently. We will try and bless our obelisks with human blood to see if that helps interrupt the flow of magic! And if not this is not sufficient we will have to bring the Skull from its Sacred Place to the surface! If we cannot destroy their magic this way we will build a great altar and open the way from our Ancestors Home!
Nathan then gated everyone to the second altar and once again it was surrounded with Savages.
[EM Fiction] "The Black Dragon: Tiamat's Troubles" by EM Crysania.
The Black Dragon: Tiamat's Troubles.
By EMCrysania.
Tiamat sat at the Inn reflecting on what had happened. She had seen the Souls that were trapped freed as her newfound friends fought off and defeated the Guardians that were in the Lab of the Evil One. She had watched as Murdock himself was defeated and watched his Spirit swirl out from his charred corpse. She had been given the Bottle from the Chest, a bottle that held the tears of her ancestors.
When she had been given it, a strange feeling had overwhelmed her, and in the blink of an eye she had transformed into a human.
How this happened was inconceivable. There had to be strong magic at work for such to have happened. Perhaps it was within herself - the two souls, one dragon, one human - combined.
Shaking her head, she brushed the long dark hair out of her eyes and muttered. "How do these humans get used to this hanging around their face all the time?"
Tiamat took a tentative sip of the ale that had been brought to her. She screwed her face up in distaste. "Perhaps a learned taste."
Standing she began to walk back and fourth, getting the feel of standing upright on two legs rather than four. "Well, at least this isn't too bad," she thought to herself.
As she paced her thoughts were brought back to Murdock's Laboratory. There had to be something there that could help her transform back into the Dragon she once was. Another bottle. Some sort of Potion. Perhaps an incantation or spell written somewhere.
Tiamat sighed and took a long, drawn out breath. She knew she was going to have to go back and search for clues that could help her in her quest to return to being a Dragon. When and if she found what she searched for she would yet again have to call upon her new friends, she was sure. She hoped they would be willing to help her yet again.
Turning towards the door, she started her journey back to the temple where the majestic beasts she so envied in the draconic form dwelled. It was here that she would begin her search, and onwards to the place where the Evil One - Murdock - hid his Lab.
In the dark of the night she made her way towards the docks to gain Voyage to the Isle of Fire and the Temple...
Dragons of the Dark Prophet
Dragons of the Dark Prophet.
By EMCrysania
On Tuesday, the 11th of January, a band of Rogue Treasure Hunters and Mercenaries set out for the Temple of Infernal Flame at the behest of Dread Tiamat. The Black Dragon had received a Vision - a disturbance in the Void - one that revealed to her the location of the Dark Prophet and his Lair.
Tiamat was drawn to the place where a thousand of her ancestors had been sacrificed to dark gods. She could no more resist the Visions resolute pull than we might resist drawing breath.
It was with that in mind that the Britannian and the Dragon encountered the Dark Prophet and his Deathless Guardians - Acolytes the Priesthood of Light who had been murdered and raised to serve an evil master - augmented by Necromatic Power stolen from the Captive Souls of Three Thaumaturgists.
Yet despite the overwhelming powers possessed by the Evil One - who flung the corpses of fallen warriors across the chamber like rag dolls - the Britannians at last managed to overcome him. But not without great cost to themselves.
It was then that Tiamat spied the Chest she had seen in her Dream. The Vision rushed back to her. Within the Chest lay the Essence of Sorrow - tears shed by her ancestors long ago - whose powers she knew could restore her to her true self.
She reached a clawed hand in to the Chest.
The world exploded. The Britannians were knocked from their feet. Glass Shattered. Tables were overturned. And when the dust cleared a newcomer stood amongst their ranks.
It was a woman.
Tiamat screamed as she realized what had become of her. The Tears of Dragons had not restored her to her True Form. She had instead become ... human.
The Britannians escorted the Former Dragon back to New Britain. She now rests at the Sweet Dreams Inn in the Trade District. The Guard has set a watch over her room and no one is allowed in or out without the expressed permission of the Queen or the Lord Emissary.
War Against the Bane!
For Several weeks we been fighting a war against the invading forces of the Bane Chosen.
The Bane have been trying to attack several towns already.
They have been coming in small groups that have been spreading around a town.
Even local citizen have been trying to get the town guards for help.
The guards are scared to fight these forces of the bane.
Some demon like winged skeletons have been appearing to guard the Bane.
These guards can not be underestimate and can be a handful for even a single warrior.
But so far the alliance of the Obhidians,Meers, Britannian defenders and several local hero's have been preventing that the Bane Chosen took control of any town.
Many towns have been liberated from the invading forces of the Bane Chosen. The Questions however is how long the alliance can hold them back.The obhidians are even nice enough to the people who they trust to reveal the secret to make blackrock Stew.
I just hope these Bane don't get reinforcement any time soon!
Pitfights, Leathal To The Audience...
Return to TopSubmit News! Comment on this article
Posted on Sunday, January 16, 2011, 11:29 PM EST by Rabid Chipmunk (LegendsAOL)
Tonight the people of Legends were treated to a display worthy of The Great Colosseum. From all around the realm, teams of up to four companions entered the Legends Pitfight Event.
The rules as explained to us by Malakei the Pitboss were fairly straight forward; Enter the Arena when it is your turn, Kill whatever Horace the Beastmaster decides to throw at your team, if you survive you win, if not... Horace's pets are in need of heartier foods anyway.
Tonight we saw a grand total of thirteen teams compete. Not a single team failed to defeat the monsters summoned before them. No death robes were handed out tonight, much to the sorrw of Horace and his horde of beasts.
The Jhelom arena may be great for fighting, but the one thing it is not great for is picture taking. Heres a breakdown of tonights fights, with pictures if I was able to take one that was halfway decent.
Team #1
Luc, Whitebone, Jiriel, Light X
This team fought a Putrid Undead Pitwing
Team #2
Fenix, Aang, TIME STEED, SeXyTaXi
This team fought Moloch the Cruel & his Minion (a putrefyer)
Team #3
Sora, Lord Ghetto Smurf, Abramelihm, Jorde
This team fought The Maddening Horror & a Darkfate Elemental
*AWARD* This team also wins the award for the most kills in a single fight. The Darkfate Elemental had a wicked aoe which killed almost eveyone on the Jhelom Pits catwalk.
You can see all the bodies, bones, and deathrobes.
Team #4
Powder, Pi'z, Black Ajah, Ba'alzoman
This team foight a Valorite Elemental Guardian & a Crystal Elemental Guardian
Team #5
Tarzan, Help, Old Lady, Prince Christian
This team fought a Dune Beetle & a Guile (changeling)
Team #6
Casper, Hawk Eye, Lord Wong Way Ya
This team fought The Collector of Souls & a Chaos Demon
Team #7
Riel, Lirael, aoLOLita, Lady DebconLady
This team fought a Rotten Cadaver, Malik, & an undead gargoyle
Team #8
Mentiras, Draconis Gargoli, Thugnificent, Q-TAME
This team fought two Fire Deamons & an Ice Fiend
Team #9
Mr. ELITE, Betrayer, Neraka, THEOKOLES
This team fought a Skeletal Dragon and hordes of minor undead
Team #10
Dead Meat, Jaana, matty, Creatine
This team fought a Dragon, Reptalon, & an Ancient Wyrm
*Disqualified*
Team #11
Dummy, Lord Crazy Little Elf
This team fought Trapdoor Spiders & Whipper Vines
Team #12
Sunlaira, Poppy, Damia, Lord Roderick
This team fought a Crystal Elemental, a Blood Elemental, & an Acid Elemental
Team #13
Lyric, Rire Grist, El DaNgEl, DruNk MeL GiBsOn
This team fought a Devourer of Souls & a Succubus
Finally after all the initial rounds of monster mayham were completed, Malakei announced who would be facing tonights "Champion"
The first team selected had retired, due to the lateness of the hour, but the second draw was Team #9. Team ELITE. They were once again let back inside the arena to face the champion.
However the champion proved a little to much for its handlers and a backup champion was brought in.
This Crimson Dragon ran wild thru the arena and had to be sedated
This Tormented Minotaur was our backup Champion, and it was quite a handful
The Tormented Minotaur was brought down, not once, but twice. Each time the "Hero" of the fight was the dragon "a greater wed"
The Champions were each awarded, a commemorative breastplate, and all the other teams were awarded commemorative tunics.
Antagonist/Evil Side
As mentioned before, there will be an antagonist/evil side to support if you don't want to be part of the Guard. However I want to hear your ideas of what we could make this, and how to do it. We have a few ideas already, but we'd love to hear yours as well. So please do let us know if you have suggestions or ideas for an antagonist side. The requirements are that it'd obviously have to be regulated and that it not use anything already used. I.E. it cannot be a reformation of the Chaos guard of Blackthorne or something else. They don't necessarily need to be axe murdering kidnapping axe murdering baby stealing genocidal monsters but, you know, they gotta be bad guys. So if you have a good idea, please send it in as thorough detail as you can.
Merit/Demerit System
Anything earned as part of the guard will not say 'Royal Guard Commander's Cloak' It would say 'Commander Character name Royal Guard Cloak' Any rewards from the merit/demerit system will be both standardized and personalized And continuing with that. We have methods in place so that if you try to sell your royal guard merit items Actions will be taken. Some people will sell anything from the EM program because any item will get millions. And that's fine for event items. There's not a wrong way to play UO, unless you are breaking the ToS. The merit/demerit system is SPECIFICALLY designed to give you things to wear to show your dedication to the group you are part of. And that is why it has a difference in our view of items.
Thank you Merik!
... Cinque Katsumoto , the first to die in G-V Doom Event ~
The Guardians of Valhalla do monthly events open to the entire shard and this months event was a Doom run.
As AKA Harloff stated on the Great Lakes boards everyone was to meet at the G-V Banner before being gated to Doom. Many tags gathered including -Y-, GTO, LOTF, CREW and 4:20.
It was not long after the hour that we were all transported from bell to boat to beach to kiss the Dark Fathers hello!
Needless to say deaths did transpire and Cinque Katsumoto was the first to kiss the ground.
It was a great time and a thank you goes out to the G-V Guild for holding these monthly events keeping our community open and fun.
Tom (VIPS) Wins Pickpocket Purse Event!
                                                                         Pickpockets Purse
                                                                                  1/13/11
                                                                            Ocllo, Felucca
         Scarlet Von Trinsic summoned her crews best and brightest thieves to her hideout last eve to test thier wit and skill in the hopes to find the thief with the lightest touch to perform an upcoming hiest. Several of the realms more notable thieves were present as well as mysterious new faces drawn from the shadows to see who was the best of the best. Scarlet went on to explain the rules for the nights competition. Thieves were to accompany Von Trinsic from her hideout beneath Bucs Den to the city of Ocllo, Felucca where they would seek out the npc carrying the Blood Gorilla. The gorilla was a magical item of timed variety to be stolen and kept for a duration of 5 minutes per round to earn a point. The thief with the most points after 5 rounds would be declared the winner. With that, to Felucca we went.....
          The thieves hit the ground running scanning the area in and around Ocllo for any npc who may fall prey to thier sticky fingers! Upon surveying the landscape the competition was soon underway with frantical snooping taking place throughout. Shortly after the first round was complete It was clear Tom had a good shot on winning as we soon spotted two Tom's running amuck! With Tom firmly in control the night took another twist well into the middle rounds as forces from Minax (MVP) attempted to impose thier will on the nights event. Much to the shagrin and entertainment of those in attendance nearly the entire raiding party was slain in the guardzone leaving a free for all fit for a thieves delight as looting would soon occur.
         In the end it was Tom, err I mean Tom (VIPS) who walked away with the title of "lightest touch" in the realm. One can only imagine what devious task Von Trinsic has in store for the would be legendary thief. Those remaining at the end of the nights event gathered in the Albatross Tavern along the shores of Ocllo to congratulate the nights winner!
                                                                     Castle British, Trammel
      Brave and eager warriors, archers, and mages alike gathered inside Castle British this Tuesday's eve to enlist in the crowns Royal Guard detachment. Players from all walks and guilds within the realm were present to offer thier services to the Queen in the service of the virtues as Commander Drake Foxx and Lt. Gwen Irina broke in the new recruits explaining the Guard, it's purpose, and whats to follow in the evenings gathering outside in the courtyard of the castle.
       Gates soon opened and the perspective recruits followed the Royal Guard Officers through to the city of Serpents Hold. There declared Foxx the new home of the Royal Guard, was to house the soon to be constructed Royal Guard Barracks and training facilities. Enlistees were soon instructed to fall in as recruitment commenced. Making thier way through the uniform line to reach the Commander himself each recruit was equipped and sorted into thier respective unit of skill. Archers, Mages, Melee, and Tamer units were formed. Each stood at attention and dressed in thier new garb awaiting orders.
        Soon the Commander ordered the group to raise thier right hand swear alliegance to the crown repeating after him:
   " I hereby swear before the virutes, the Guard and my fellow citizens to serve the realm. The Cities and their interests, and to hold myself to the high ideals of the virutes as they apply to my duties.
I swear to defend the realm and all the
innocent within from threats both external and internal.
I swear to fulfill these duties to the best of my ability and judgement,
and to serve as an example to those in the realm of just what can be accomplished through virtuous and righteous conduct. I swear these things in the name of the Virtues, the name of Britannia, and on my own body, heart and soul!
"
       After completing the innitiation, the new recruits we dismissed to thier on accord with instructions to listen for the call to muster soon. The Commander and Captain stayed long after to answer further inquiries about recruiment, uniforms, and possible future encounters within the various regiments.  Look for more from the Royal Guard soon as well as further opportunities to join the ranks thyself!.
Bakers Dozen Recap!
Return to TopSubmit News!
Posted on Thursday, January 13, 2011, 10:14 AM EST by Morpheus Mardox (Chesapeake)
                                                                              Bakers Dozen
     The realm ventured to Jhelom this past week to seek out the famed  Baker Fredrick Thomas in hopes to learning the secret to the recipe to the sought after Mesanna Cream Pie.  Fredrick greeting his visitors eagerly explain the ins and out of perfect pie making in his custom kitchen.
     Spouting out ingredients and various mixtures to the crowd in attendance Thomas soon would realize his eagerness nearly cost those around him thier lives as he mistakenly added Waaaaaayy too much fast acting creaming agent to his current batch brewing in the bakery! Soon after beasts never before seen in the realm began to rise like loaves of evil bread devouring those around them in a fury of sweet creamy havoc!
      The battle was hard fought as they seemed to pop up so quickly as if they were thrown from a toaster! The crowd battled the ferocious beasts until they stood victorious.
        As the coast now layed clear the crowd sought out Fredrick to ensure he would not mismeasure his recipe again! Some in fact even attempted to apprehend the baker for his mistake made that evening. They pursued the baker round and round, however the baker was too fast perhaps even slippery to be caught that eve!
        The Baker soon made his final move slipping away hastily into the night as the crowd bewildered searched further for the now missing baker. Upon further research, official reports suggest Thomas is being hidden in the player city of Zedland. To what reason the city would offer safe harbor to the baker from the angry mob is yet unknown. Perhaps something else is about to be cooking....... I shall visit the city of Zedland in the coming days to perhaps see for myself..
– by Winfield – The 13th Anniversary of PaxLair will be held January 15-19, 2011 in a number of places on Chesapeake.  Over the course of 5 days, events will take people to all the facets starting with a huge voyage at sea, continuing on to a  unique historical tour, games and tournaments, mazes, … and finishing with a Statehood Dinner for all to feast.  There are 13 events in total!  Everyone can participate in something.  Gates will be cast from New Haven Bank for each event.  Come out and join the fun … perhaps see some old veterans you’ve not seen for years … and even win a few prizes and learn some history!  Dragonspeed!!
PaxLair City was founded on January 19, 1998 in the meadow west of the Compassion Shrine on Felucca. Throughout its history, it served with other player-towns to help communities and people work together. In the old days before Trammel, PaxLair was a vibrant crossroads for good, neutral, and evil. It is blessed by the gods with unique indoor and outdoor features. On November 11, 1998, Lord British himself visited PaxLair City to honor the city’s founders. PaxLair is the oldest, continuously running “player-town” on the Chesapeake Shard.
Today, PaxLair is a Statehood of four wonderful cities across Felucca, Tokuno, and Trammel: PaxLair City, Dragons Watch, PaxOku, and Nidaros.  PaxLair also has a great Alliance with three more fantastic cities: Gyldenfeld, Pitmuck, and Arylsan. Each city is unique and brings different wonders to the Realm through citizens, allies, and friends. PaxLair is based on tenets of Peace, Neutrality, and Roleplaying.
Your Imagination, Let it Live Thru Them
Posted on Sunday, January 9, 2011, 5:09 PM EST by Merci d'Rue (TavernsandTales)
Creating a Roleplay Character can seem a daunting task. However whether you are new to roleplay, returning to it after a break, or just looking for something different it is a deeply rewarding experience. Our characters are an extenuation of our imaginations. They breathe each breath we give them. They feel each tear or smile we dream for them. They are our private calm away from the storm.
I have asked several roleplayers from across the shards, what is the most important thing when creating a roleplay character. To their credit this was a hard task in that everyone has their own style, and no answer to this question is wrong. It is hard to define out one item when so many thoughts come to mind. Yet they did it, and we are greatly rewarded for their efforts. Below I have highlighted (in no particular order) five different things deemed highly important by random Roleplayers across the shards.
Backstory
Quote:
In my opinion, the crucial part is having a past and a back story that is plausible, believable, and unique without being fantastical and playable. If you can't remember your own past, why should anyone else? -Jaymee, Europa
Never were words so true, but do it for yourself, to make your character come to life for you. While it helps others the truth is having a backstory gives you the foundation you need to begin.
Play to Their Flaws
Quote:
An old roleplayer once told me that the most important aspect of a character is not his strengths, his powers, his goals, but his flaws. It is those flaws that sets a character apart, makes him human. --Nicholas the Old (WarderDragon)-Baja
Flaws, weaknesses, we all have them. To make a character believable for yourself, and others you should give great thought to their vices. If they are perfect, why roleplay them? Why should others want to roleplay with you? The stories done, you have no where to go, and nothing to overcome. Often times the most rewarding roleplay has to do with vices, or flaws, be they great or small.
Have Fun!
Quote:
They need to be fun to play. If you don't kinda love the guy or gal, you wont play them--Capricorn /sage-Pacific Shard
Fun! Don't pick something that you wont enjoy in the long run. We are here to have fun I don't know how many people I know, who created a character on a whim for a joke or just to have fun, often it turned out to be a character they played the most.
Click the image to open in full size.
Inspiration and Style
Quote:
I think for me...The Most important part of creating a roleplay character is the inspiration. The idea that creates the foundation for this character that everything will build upon. Anyone can say 'I want to play a pirate' or ' I want to play a paladin. But what really makes that character your own? --Myrddin ab'Arawn-Atlantic
What inspires you. There are a million ways to play a type of character. Its all about style, making them your own, that defines us. Its what endears us to them and others. Their strengths, weaknesses, quirks, mannerisms. Its your creativity that builds them, enhances them, changes them, creativity is the key.
Love your Character
Quote:
To me though, developing a character you can actually like is important. RP is hard enough without playing a character you'll come to dislike. To be real to others, your character must be real to you. So look within your dreams and thoughts for some sort of being which you have long dreamed of being.
--Aedon-Catskills
Do what you like, what you feel you can add realism to, whether you have researched it or know from personal experience. It will bring your character to life for you and others.
Click the image to open in full size.
The items above have dealt with the concepts and thoughts behind character creation. I also wanted to go over a few basics to help those new to roleplay get started, they are not rules set in stone, but I know they helped me when I started out.
A. Name- Give them a first and last name, maybe even a middle. You don't have to but often it helps.
B. Speech-consider how your character would talk, whether they would have an accent, perhaps they don't talk at all or rarely.
C. Apparel- How would they dress! From head to toe this helps the effect.
D. Profile- A Character profile is often useful. Things others would see on them that the game can not express. For example, Scars, Height,Weight, facial features, eye color. A distinct perfume or aroma.
Note From The Thief Master.
By EM Seppo.
You feel a tap on your shoulder and something slipped into your pocket.
You turn around. Whomever was there was gone. However a single scrap of paper is left in your pocket.
You remove it and read.
Let it not be said that the Thief Master of Britain does not reward his accomplices. Those who have consistently assisted me in the past have not been forgotten. A token of appreciation is in order!
Meet me at the following days within the sewers of Britain to collect your reward!
Saturday, January the 15th at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST.
Sunday, January the 16th at 3:00 PM PST / 6:00 PM EST.
Be wary though, my protection only extends to the ones marked as a friend. Rest of you better watch for your purses.
Note: Thief Notoriety score of +4 Points or more will grant you the reward at this time. Try saying your name in front of the log book in the sewers to see how many notoriety points you have to your name. If you have not managed this, fret not. There will be opportunities of gaining points and other tokens in the future.
Capture the Fortress - Saturday, January 15th.
By EM Seppo
The next Capture the Fort (PvP) event will take place on Saturday, January 15th, 2011 at 3:30 PM PST / 6:30 PM EST.
Currently the Cartel Alliance controls the Lost Lands Garrison. They will lose control of it on Friday, January 14th and the gate will be thrown open.
1) 3:30 PM PST to 4:30 PM PST (1 hour) – Siege Phase.
During this phase, you should aim to gain control over the area. There are several strategies that come to mind, how will you approach it?
2) 4:30 PM PST Onwards – Flag Phase.
Lay claim to the garrison during this phase by being the first team to have your hue on the flag for 10 consecutive minutes (the clock will reset if someone rehues the flag). Remember, the flag is inside a house and normal house rules related to PvP do apply.
Tonight an unusually large group of players shed their clothes and went for a naked run thru dungeon Hytholyth!
Whatever warped mind came up with this concept, the attendees did seem to enjoy themselves as they doged and dived away from the many, many, hostile inhabitants of the dungeon.
Aside from a brief, unwelcomed interruption at the onset of the event, everything went smoothly... by this I mean most people collected thirty or so death robes before the end of the night.
When all was said and done, the first four people to make it from the first to the very bottom floor of the dungeon were:
  • Godrick - Grand Prize Winner
  • Lady Chopper - First Runner Up
  • Mr Maniacal - Second Runner Up
  • Snails - Third Runner Up
The Soul Taker.
By EMCrysania
Tiamet slept a troubled sleep. Her mind was invaded by dreams of an unusual nature. It was almost like she had drifted into a trance instead of sleep.
Scenes flowed through her mind of the Evil One, Murdock. She could see him plainly and hear his words as if she were there, standing in the chamber with him. As her minds eye watched, she saw him as he ...
... stood gazing into the Crystal Ball, watching as the first of his armies were defeated. Each Shrine he had sent them to had been protected and saved by the People of the Realm and that Dragon.
"Now I know their strength. What they are capable of. I can proceed with my plans," he said to the Spirits bound in the Gems surrounding the Crystal Ball that were watching as well.
"The Shrines were just a ruse, and they walked right into it! They did not realize I wanted to see what strength they had. What better way than to get them to protect something they live by?" He smirked. "Who would have thought they would have listened to that Wretched Dragon!"
"Now, my pretties," he said to the ones surrounding him. "It is time to defeat them. I want that SOUL!"
The Spirits swirled in the Crystals as if in restlessness, agitation.
"What? What!? You know that I cannot release you. Even though I gained your souls in the same manner, the time is not right! When I finally get the Soul of the Wizard then I will release you to be combined with mine. And soon I will be the Greatest Dark Wizard that ever walked this Realm!"
Walking to the door, Murdock fitted a key and turned the lock. Pushing the door, he watched as it swung open. Stepping inside, he pulled the door closed and relocked it behind him. He strode to where the four pedistals stood, each with a large gem atop it. Three of the Crystals were filled with Spirits as as the other smaller ones that surrounded the Crystal Ball had been.
The fourth stood empty.
Staring at the empty crystal, Murdock spoke. "It will not be long now before the cycle will be readied. Three crystals I have filled with the Souls of the Greatest Wizards to be found. The fourth stands ready to capture the Soul in that Blastest Beast! Once I have it, I will go into the Center Crystal on the Pedistal and draw upon your energy. For that is what will make me the most Powerful of Wizards."
The Three in the Pedistal Crystals swirled in anger, as if in defiance of Murdock.
"You have no choice! I have mastered you, and you will bend to my will. Now, on to make preparations and to get the last soul needed. It is time I fulfilled my destiny."
Murdock walked over to an ornate chest resting upon a table. Carefully, he fitted a key into the lock. He opened the chest and removed a bottle of dark liquid.
"You see this?!" he cackled. "It contains the tears of the Beast Tiamats ancestors. This is what shall lead her to me so that I might contain her and steal the Wizards Soul. She will not be able to resist searching for this one she knows I have it. Then I shall have her."
The Souls hummed in agitation, their mist forms growing dim then bright again.
"I have placed a protective charm upon this room. It shall be Guarded. Any who dare enter - who dare try and stop me - will be met with opposition. Now I must go and start the event leading to the Beasts capture."
Murdock left the room and locked the great doors behind him. The Souls inside hummed with energy. Were they obidient to the False Priest?
Or were they enraged over what was about to unfold?
Tiamat woke with a start. She couldn't remember what she had dreampt of. Just that it involved Murdock - Lost Souls and Tears - tears that her ancestors had once shed. She felt a strong urge to find the Evil One. To stop whatever it was he had started. She rose to her feet and started off to find the people that had become her friends.
With their help perhaps she could end this once and for all. Become herself again ...
Unveiling of Heaven’s Gate
Location: Jollier Fairgrounds (Tram)
Day: Saturday, Jan 8th 2011
Time: 9:00pm EST
Hear ye, Hear ye,
The Towne of Whispering Winds invites you to a night of festivities and merriment at the Jollier Fairgrounds (Tram) located east of Skara Brae and north of the Town of Whispering Winds. The Festival is being held to commemorate the unveiling of the world’s first intershardal portal, Heaven’s Gate!
The night will begin with a dangerous mission as citizens, willing to risk life and limb, join the Magincian Crusade against the armies of the vile demon, Virtue Bane. Gates will open from the fairgrounds to the Sosarian Library to meet the main force of crusaders.
When the Magincian Crusade draws to its conclusion, the participants will return to the fairgrounds for a grand feast in their honor. The feast will consist of the finest foods from around Britannia. Knights of Compassion need not go hungry as Vegetarian options will be available!
The feast will be followed by contests of skill, games of chance and of course, Dancing! Prizes will be awarded to both the skilled and lucky.
As the moons begin to set and the night comes to a close, the festivities will move to the Towne of Whispering Winds for the officially unveiling of Heaven’s Gate. The magical portal is believed to be the first of its kind and will connect our world to others like it! An expedition of Order Knights will be the first to brave the intershardal portal. We gather to wish them well on their journey to a new land as they travel into the great unknown (or to Luna bank if the gate is a bust!)
Openings on the expedition are still available but space is limited. Citizens interested in applying to be part of the first intershardal expedition, please contact Lore Denin in Whispering Winds,
Kid Icarus Does The First Questionnaire of 2011 ~
As the guild master of one of the largests and most noble guilds on Great Lakes I am proud to present Kid Icarus as my guest for the first Lady Lava's Questionnaire of 2011.
* Kid Icarus at one of the -Y- Guild monday night meetings *
How long have you been playing UO and how did you first hear about this game?
I have been faithful to UO since 2005. *smiles* My son and I were introduced to UO by a co-worker of ours. I can still recall his enthusiasm when he was describing the game to us and I have to admit it was because of it that we did try UO. Thanks Connovar / Ingot Tech
What was the name of the very first character you created and what skills did/does this character had/have?
Actually I created two characters. The first one was a Ninja who right away joined the BL Blue Lotus and of course a crafter Yaya’Ri. Most of my characters start with Y and I carried that over to the guild name. As far as the skills go my ninja sported the usual ninja skills stealth , hidding and sneak.
You are the leader and GM of the -Y- Guild. Is there a goal or certain purpose to this guild ?
Let me go with purpose, when -Y- was first created and even to this current time it was done with the intention to have a guild in which anyone could join, no matter the skill level, no matter the amount of active participation (there is real life that usualy takes precedence) and for the most part no matter the age. A place for returning players to reaquaint themselves with the new game mechanics and at the same time have a guild family to assist when asked. Goal is to have fun, enjoy the time while in game with other same minded players.
At this time in history how many members belong to the -Y- Guild and how important are emissaries to this guild ?
Members I would say well over 500. Emisaries most guildleader would probably say are an extension of themselves. Not me I consider Y emmies to be a part of me that I am not even aware of, a part of the guild that makes me look at issues in a light that I certainly would never have before which in turn influences me in decision and implement new ideas within the guild I just have to add that at times my decisions have not been the best ever made but we still are here and Y emmies certainly have much to do with that.
* Kid Icarus at one of the -Y- Guild Auctions held monthly *
The -Y- Guild is represented at the HUB just outside of Luna and a banner in Tokuno.
What was the inspiration and idea behind your banner?
We in the guild tend to consider -Y- a family a compassionate one and as such that was the idea for the theme. The inspiration actually came from one of our Emmisarie who helped me out tremendously and I trully owe her a lot for that.
Guilds come and go on Great Lakes. Members come and go within all guilds. What do you think is the hardest part of being the GM of a huge guild?
We have been together as a guild since 08. The hardest part in achieving that was to stay true to our guilds beliefs and to realise that all of our members should have a voice, to have direct contact with me and with our Emmies. We certainly can't be everything to everyone but we are close I have to say.
Name the one location in the realm that you think is the most beautiful.
Rolling Hills ( the area named by the -Y- Guild surrounding the city of Zento ) of course more specifically I love the waterfall and bridge just south east of the moongate at Tokuno , Makoto in Zento.
What one item in the game are you most attached to?
Ornate Axes does that count?
Name one item in real life you are attached to.
One? My Conga drums
What is your favorite color?
Mahogany.
If you were to die and come back as an animal which would it be and why?
A most colorful Coqui .... look it up .
If you could travel to a destination you have never been to before where would that desination be and why?
Any forest in South America. I would love to get a chance to view the forest via a cable car of sorts thru and above the forest.
What do you admire most in a man?
High Morals and a strong ethic base to balance the morals
What do you admire most in a woman ?
High self esteem and confidence in themseleves and what they do in life
What is your motto?
Honor is all
Remembering KRAKEN, king of the Recall scrolls
Return to TopSubmit News! Comment on this article
Posted on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 6:21 PM EST by Andrasta (Atlantic)
>>> Trammel Facet News <<<This sad news just in from EvilPixieWorks of the R&P Mini Mall.
“KRAKEN”, real name Porter Thomson, the original owner of the Yew Gate Mini Mall of the Red & Purple… a friend I knew since I began playing… maybe 9 or 10 years ago… died Tuesday from leukemia.
If you didn’t know the man, you may know the reputation… if you are an older veteran player of Atlantic. For many years, from the birth of Tram… KRAKEN opened a classic sandstone vendor mall in the remote woods of eastern Yew, not too far away from the grand water fall, where he sold recall scrolls by the vendor full. He then relocated to a Small Marble Shop near the Yew Crypts, where the spawn was a little safer for his trade. KRAKEN was KING of the Recall Scrolls! Night and day… he made them. Night and day… people bought them. August 2004, we managed to find the large house near the public moongate of Yew, until his game retirement and then the eventual handing-off of the mall to myself and another friend, Hellfire. We have been keeping the place up and running ever since.
It may be true that KRAKEN quit UO a few short years ago to concentrate on other endeavors, he always kept in trouble with friends with cheerful and humorous emails. The odd personal letter. Never down on life or hating the world. I will always remember him as the man who would eat my fishing nets faster then I could possibly collect them. I will remember him as one of my closest friends, that I’ve ever had, while playing our game. This news comes as a sudden and totally unexpected blow to me personally. I will miss him and remember him… as my own personal history of life in UO would never be complete without mentioning HIS name.
Those who fall should always be remembered… no matter what world they roam.
Porter (KRAKEN) is survived by his wife Aimee and a son and daughter.
Catch of the Week 1/3/10 - 1/8/10
                                                            Catch of the Week 1/3/10 - 1/9/10
              Weighins took place Sundays eve along the shores of Trisnic as Santiago anxiously awaited whats eluded players since the birth of the High Seas. The elusive Golden Tuna was on tap this past week however it remains a myth as no lucky anglers were able to present the species to the Sons of the Sea Angling Club.
              The night was not without excitement as no sooner than we concluded the rare tuna had not been caught. Trouble soon breached the halls of the Club. Bane Riders broke in looking about the establishment for reasons unknown! This did not sit well with Santiago as we took up arms in its defense! Thankfully Santiago and the Savage Niva were there in my protection as I would surely have garned more death robes than the one I so graciously received!
              Awaking this morning to make the journey to Trisnic once more, I cautiously recalled to the dock area to find out this weeks catch of the week to find more Bane forces pacing the streets in search of foes. I was able to make it inside undetected to find that this weeks fish is the "Firefish" located in the waters inside the Dungeon Shame. Further info regarding the different species of new fish and where to catch them can be found here. Weighin this week will be Sunday night at 8:30pm just off the docks of Trisnic! Good luck!
Greetings from Your Wandering Reporter Weezie!
While shopping I noticed this very nice shop in Makoto-Jima. I was very delighted to find that they kept the vendors stocked and a great variety of items for sale. The name of the shop is Raphael’s Provisions. The location to this nice establishment is 40’ 32 N and 34’ 44 W. The shop is just east and north out of the Makoto-Jima gate. I met Raphael in Luna placing runes to his vendor shop.
Click the image to open in full size.
Speaking with Raphael was very interesting. He spoke of his love for the beauty of the flowers in the area of Tokuno. Baja was a new shard when he started to play Ultima Online. Raphael finds that there is so much to do in the game, he stays busy with plants, vendors and doing champ spawns.The vendors at Raphael’s have seeds, plants, potions and jewelry and many more things.
Shopping being one of the many enjoyments of Ultima Online this shop is sure to succeed.
Beware, I may be in your area next!
House of Commons Report 1/2/10
Return to TopSubmit News!
Posted on Monday, January 3, 2011, 1:45 PM EST by Morpheus Mardox (Chesapeake)
                                                           Chesapeake House of Commons 1/2/10
EM Dudley welcomed guests inside the Chesapeake House of Commons last eve for the weekly meet among the realms citizens. Those in attendance were brought up to speed on the weeks events as well as Q & A with Dudley himself.
        The meeting began with the reading of the newly placed policy on item drops here on the shard in response to queries at the recent Shard Meetup. Dudley reiterated the sentiments of Mesanna:
 " Every event will not result in an item drop.
Information regarding when a drop will occur will not be available.
Information regarding quantity of items dropped will not be available.
Participation rewards from contests will be of the unique GM crafter variety and will be made available to all those who participate. Not every contest will feature a participation reward.
Winners of contest style events will have a record of the accomplishment placed in the Hall of Victory in Malas and when fitting, a normal statue crafted out of Gold, Normal, or Bronze granite and engraved with a statue engraving tool reflecting the accomplishment will be given to the winner(s).
Any reward that will be traded to a player by a robe or RPC character will be of the unique GM crafter variety or engraved using readily available inscription tools.
Renamed, uniquely hued, or unique art rewards will be randomly placed on monsters during an event. Information as to which monsters or how many will not be available. When appropriate these items will be offered as unannounced stealables as well.
Reward givers will distribute rewards to those who participate in the event only following the conclusion of a major story arc where appropriate.
Holiday rewards will be setup by Mesanna at her discretion in a location she determines. "
        Also noted were several other topics so eloquently described in the EM Forums that I thought I'd include them in the news! Thanks Jordy!
   " Tancred expressed distaste for the inclusion of spoilers in the events schedule and asked if they could be removed. Dudley explained that they were there for those who had asked for a summary of upcoming events, but that they were to be included as clickable spoiler links so as not to spoil the surprise for those who didn't want them.
     Demon Slayer asked about the plaque that was to be posted with his name for winning the duck hunt even earlier last year. Dudley told him that he had asked some time ago that anyone who had won an event and had not been recognized to contact him and let him know. Dudley said he would fix it as soon as possible.
     Cordelia told Dudley that the spoiler links in the events post on the forums was not working properly and that they were displaying the spoilers for everyone. Dudley told her that Morpheus was fixing these links.
     Dudley announced the winners in the holiday house decorating contest. He also said that each of the three winners would have a placard of some sort placed in front of their lots signifying their participation in the contest. Sundina asked if it was possible to have the community vote on the houses. Dudley explained that it's problematic because of people voting on multiple characters, people who don't use the forums, or people who might miss out if voting was done live in-game. He said that he would look at doing something like that in future contests of this nature."
      Couldnt have explained it better myself! And of course we couldn't forget John Wayne! Ejected not for his taste in character names but unruly behavior during the meet! The top three entrants in the Holiday House Decoration Contest are listed in their own post here. Congratulations!
                Join us next Sunday at 9pm EST for the next installment of the House of Commons here on Chesapeake!
The Mystic City Receives Recognition
>>> Tokuno Islands News <<<
The Mystic City, which surrounds and protects Zento, the lovely capital of Tokuno, was recently granted recognition by Killian, the Royal Ambassador of Queen Dawn.
A banner was constructed this past week, the very first of it's kind on Legends, proclaiming The Mystic City a town, with all the rights and privileges of such. The Mystic City has earned this honor not only with a good number of player houses comprising a town, but also with many player activities which are always open to everyone.
Head engineer for the construction project was Mesanna, with EM Helios and EM Ikaris providing support. The banner reads Welcome to The Mystic City, Established 12/31/2010. The crystal on pedestal reads "Protectors of the Empress & Allies to Britannia". The lovely pixie atop the banner is dedicated to Lady Damia, the driving force behind The Mystic Circle guild.
The town banner was designed by Mr Crowley of the TMC guild. Tonight, surrounded by friends and allies, the Town Banner was dedicated. Complimentary robes, supplied by Country Bumkin, made for a nice picture.
Congratulations to everyone in The Mystic City on your grand achievement!
At the conclusion of the round whomever holds the item receives a point. Those with the most point at the end win.
Shard Meeting Yields Results!
Return to TopSubmit News!
Posted on Sunday, January 2, 2011, 1:00 AM EST by Morpheus Mardox (Chesapeake)
                                                                    Shard Meeting Yields Results!
            The citizens of Chesapeake held court with Elder EM Dudley and Mesanna this past Thursday's eve inside the big blaze tent in the Sosarian Solstice Fairgrounds. The lengthy meeting was held to give citizens a chance to voice their various concerns with the current state of events within the realm. The more then three hour meeting was gracefully moderated by the EM team as they fielded every question the crowd could muster ensuring all had the chance for thier voices to be heard! Dozens of citizens came forward to speak on many topics including how shard events were run, how rewards were given ot in relation to other shards, the current "livery quest", and even answered queries of favoritism amongst the shard em's and certain player bases. I think we can state that all topics were covered in length!
            Being in better communication was a grand theme among the nights inquiries as players expressed the need for deeper communication during events and different story arcs as they progress to help not only those who have been in attendance all along but those who join in late as well.
           There was talk of items, a source of great long winded debate during the night as well as players spoke of thier desires intentions and hopes for the program in the new year in regards to frequency and quality of drops. Players from both sides of the fence spoke as those who sought loot and riches as well as those who enjoyed the events for thier storyline nature gave well thought out input throughout the topics span of discussion. Some more feverish spectators spoke of favoritism and such as both Mesanna and Dudley assured the crowd no such would ever become a part of the show here on Chesapeake. Shows of support from those in attendance for the hard work that has been put into our shard thus far came throughout the night
          One of the more direct results of the nights meeting was covered during the discussion of the more recent livery quests attempted by the various player run entities around the realm. With the most recent round of activities in the chain of events some felt frustration over Helga's decision to exlcude them from passing the nights event. Dudley carefully listened to each speaker and thier concerns and in the end the shard was pleasantly surprised this evening to see that all the participating groups had received thier livery designation of a station in thier respective towns! A grand surpise!
          Also noted were several hours spent by Dudley and Mesanna herself visiting  player run towns fixing odd and ends that had built up over recent times with regards to town banners and teleports linking to the Luna  Hub as well as the addition of Imperium Flags added to banners belonging to the shards sinister brood.....
        All in all I'd say the meeting did well for everyone as with any luck we feel heard and the concerns on the realm are well in hand and in capble hands with our EM Team. Thanks to Dudley and Mesanna for hearing us out, the good, bad, ugly, and indifferent. We all look forward to what the new year brings to us here on Chespeake!
