Posted on Saturday, October 31, 2009, 11:37 PM EDT by Nyte Doombringer (Europa)
Sunday, 01 November 2009, 20:00 With a spring in his step Lieutenant Fynn Barrett walked out the gate and across the bridge. When his feet touched the cobbles of the city he paused a moment and looked down the road. Britain, you are truly the most beautiful city in the entire Kingdom! Earlier that day Avery, Commander of the Royal Guard, had summoned him to the castle and appointed him to his new post: The Guard Tower at the western Bank, right at the heart of the city. His mission was to defend its citizens and to sharpen the skills of the Royal Guard. The sunlight reflected from his shield as he turned on his heels to follow the road along the moat. I am ready! EMs Nestor and Eris Lead Tour of Haunted Homes
Posted on Friday, October 30, 2009, 7:08 PM EDT by Fallon Valor (Atlantic)
ATLANTIC—On Halloween Eve, 30 October 2009, EMs Nestor and Eris lead a small group of home decor enthusiasts on an unforgettable tour of haunted homes. The assembled tourists congregated at the EM Rewards Hall at eight o’clock and prepared themselves to experience some of Atlantic’s spookiest destinations. “Three Hag Mountain,” by Tribute “The Northern Star,” by Maling Kytiao “Malas Haunted House,” by Sissy Mary “The Haunted Mountain,” by Maximus “The Shunned House,” by Ayahuasquero “Baradur,” by Fury “Lion Heart Cemetery,” by Lion Heart “Pixie Hollow,” by TINKERBELL “The Red & Purple Mini Mall,” by Lady Frany Flame “Pixie Dust 2,” by Dremwvr “Tomb of the Abysmal Horror,” by Queen Arya Following a tour of the last home, participants returned to the Rewards Hall, teeth chattering and knees shaking. Each house proved uniquely terrifying – some, downright disturbing. Participants in the event, to include EMs Nestor and Eris, were astounded by Atlantic’s talented decorators. Nestor did express one regret, however . . . Fortunately, Hunter Moon of HOT was willing to indulge Nestor’s increasingly-infamous blood-lust. Once all of the participants had reassembled, EM Eris explained that the contest winner would be announced on Halloween, 31 October. EM Eris further encouraged Atlantians to vote in the Stratics poll, posted by UO Atlantic Reporter Nhbdy here. “We’ll be watching that poll on the forums,” said EM Eris. “We want the winners to be the people’s choice.”

Halloween Kickoff Party!
Posted on Friday, October 30, 2009, 5:57 PM EDT by DevilsOwn (LegendsAOL)
Halloween was kicked off tonite with a grand party hosted by Spelosty of ELV. Raffles, a maze, lots of trivia questions (just what *was* that guy's name, Spel??) and costume judging kept everyone laughing. One unexpected event was the auctioning of Arwen who was dressed as Xena, the Warrior Princess! Santa roamed the crowd handing out Halloween gifts and Grubstake took everyone to his rooftop jack-o-lantern patch to find the six that were not locked down! Spelosty's party house was decorated splendidly (note the cute candle holders!) and the two floor maze had folks stumbling over each other to get thru. Raffle winners were Elena (two times!), Arwen, Grubstake and Eric.... congrats! Through the maze first was DevilsOwn...... oh, that's me.... second was Arwen and third was Eternal Blue! Judges for the Costume Contest were Spelosty, MageCruella and Penderrin and the winners were: In second place, Eric as a glow worm and in first place, Hippolyte as the pirate Crimson Corsair Congratulations all and thank you, Spelosty, for a wonderful night!

Something evil lurks at the City of the Dead

Something evil lurks at City of the Dead By EMSeppo October 31st, 2009 Posted By Oriana While most travelers to the lost lands shrug it off as an old ranger’s myth, the few brave adventurers who have dared to enter the City of Dead on Hallow’s eve would tell you that the place reeks of more wrong than its usual. Even fewer, however, have seen and lived to tell about the terror that awaits within the walls of the fort that lies within the city. For it is within these walls, the terrifying spirit of Orc Shadow Chieftains is said to roam on this day of the dead. The only thing more mysterious than the spirits is perhaps their history; some say that long before the dead infested these city, even before the savages took hold of the fort, the city of the dead might have been an orc outpost. A terrible fate must have then doomed these orcs for these spirits continue to roam the city to these day on Hallow’s eve, exacting revenge on all who trespass into their lost territory. Yet, it is also rumored that great rewards await the ones who might slay these spirits, if such a thing were to be possible. So, each Hallow’s eve seekers of thrill and treasure travel to this old outpost of the orcs. Most come back with only long tales of their near-death experience fighting the spirit, but few will come face to face with the the chieftains. None have returned with even a single trinket that made them any richer though. So, this Hallow’s eve will you dare to venture into the old lands, fending off others like you who might rather slit your throat than share the treasure, to seek out the truth of this matter and perhaps, slay a chieftain or two? Event Announcement Where: Delucian Orc Fort, located in the City of the Dead Facet: Felucca Only How: The chieftains are rumored to show only when the fort is occupied by no less than 5 people. When: The strongest chance of summoning the chieftains is between 8-11 AM, 2-5 PM, 9-12 PM (PST) – but beware, the spirits do not always heed to the mortals. October 31st. Statutory warning: This event is in Felucca, which means that you are likely to be subjected to player versus player combat. PvP is not only allowed, but encouraged. Additional notes: To make things slightly more interesting, a lantern “Spirit Detector” has been placed at the Yew Felucca moongate. The lantern may turn red for 15 minutes right after the chieftain comes into play. But as is the case with devices, you cannot expect them to always function properly. Also, keep in mind, that the chieftain will not come out till no less than 5 people occupy the fort.

First Contact Start Date: October 20, 2009 End Date: October 20, 2009 Additional Information Queen Zhah took the scroll her royal guard was presenting her. Their eyes met for a brief second as she silently thanked him with a slight nod. The guard lowered his eyes respectfully and with a slow bow of the head, as he quietly exited the room. The Queen ran her fingers over the seal that bound the exquisite parchment the message was written on. She had seen such a seal before in the archives… a seal not of this world. The room was filled with tension as her Council stood staring at her intently, no doubt as curious as she was about the content of the missive. But were they as concerned? She broke the seal and began to read. When she finished, she exhaled loudly and realized she had been holding her breath. She hoped it didn’t reveal the extent of the relief she was feeling. She lifted her eyes from the parchment and offered a restrained smile to Surnem, her Minister of Magic. “Her name is Dawn.” she said calmly, then looked around the room at Hon-Aur, her Minister of Commerce and Uskadesh, her Minister of War, observing their reaction. “Dawn?” repeated Surnem, with curiosity. “Yes. She’s the leader of our… visitors. Their Queen.” replied Queen Zhah. “She sends her respects and requests the pleasure of meeting with the leader of the magnificent world her people recently discovered.” “She wants to come here?” inquired Hon-Aur. “No. This is an invitation to come visit her palace in the lands beyond the Abyss.” said Queen Zhah. Uskadesh stretched his wings nervously and said much louder than he had intended “This could be a trap!” He winced and lowered his eyes in shame at the scolding look the Queen gave him. He thought to himself “Control, you fool... Control!” Surnem suppressed the disdainful smile that threatened to blossom on her lips as she shifted her gaze from the chastised Minister of War to her regal Queen. “This could be good for us, my Queen. Since the Elves and the Humans have entered our realm, our battle against the void creatures has been far more successful. The number of new refugees has diminished by almost half!” Hon-Aur walked over to Surnem and stood by her side in sign of support as he declared “Commerce has also exploded everywhere in Ter Mur. Even the Holy City has reported a huge increase in sales and trades. The people are regaining a sense of hope!” Hope… Queen Zhah wouldn’t let Hon-Aur see how his innocent comment stung her. That the mere appearance of these strangers and rumors of a foreign Queen would give her people more hope than she has despite all her sacrifices and all her struggle to protect them… She walked off to one of the terraces of her palace and her Council followed her quietly. Down below, Humans, Elves and Gargoyles were noisily going about their business. It had been a long time since there had been such joyous activity in the City. “Passion and Diligence, Zhah… for the people” she thought to herself. She resolutely turned to Uskadesh and in a tone that suffered no arguments she said “Prepare my royal escort. We leave in the morning. Surnem, round up your Mystics and find a way to rebuild the gate.” She turned her back to them again to face the city. Dismissed, they left without another word. “Hope…” she whispered. -Sakkarah

[UO Herald: Live Events] Hyde and Seek
Posted on Thursday, October 29, 2009, 2:05 AM EDT by Avenhar (QuestandEventNews)
Hyde and Seek Start Date: October 23, 2009 End Date: To Be Determined Additional Information Jared let out a heavy sigh as he looked at Isham’s body in helpless frustration. The latest concoction he applied on him had yet again failed. He could not stand Isham’s angry, accusatory stare, but now was not the time to dwell on moral dilemmas or guilt. There was much work to be done and too little time left. The sudden muffled sound of a feminine voice emanating from behind the laboratory’s doors startled them both. Jared stared at the door in shock, his mind racing, trying to identify the woman. No one knew of this place, not even his wife Eliza. He glanced back at Isham whose eyes suddenly widened in joyous recognition, quickly replaced by horror. He whimpered and looked at Jared with pleading eyes. “Lydia”, whispered Jared with sudden understanding. She would come inside the room any minute now and see what had transpired here. He couldn’t allow that. He gave Isham a stern warning look as he ordered in a whisper: “Be quiet!” He gestured towards Isham as he chanted An Lor Xen. The spell fizzled. He cussed at his cold hands still numb from touching Isham despite the protective gloves. He re-casted the spell and this time was thankfully successful. As soon as Isham vanished, Jared propped himself against the cave wall and donned his invisibility cloak. Seconds later, Lydia materialized inside the room. She took a few hesitant steps and shyly called out Isham’s name. Getting no response, she walked further into the room. There was no one… The only sound she could hear was the slow simmer of a foul smelling mixture in a cauldron. Her heart sank. She could not believe he stood her up again… not after last night’s talk… not after all the promises… She made for the desk at the back of the room in the unlikely hope that he would have left her another note. As she passed the alchemist table, the air suddenly became freezing cold and painful blisters erupted on her exposed right arm. She jumped back a few steps, yelping in pain. The room suddenly felt ominous, as if inhabited by a dark, evil force. She dared not turn her back to run to the door so she clumsily walked backwards, her eyes darting in every direction, expecting to see some spawn of evil lunge at her at any moment. His own heart pounding was deafening to Jared as he watched Lydia’s hasty retreat. She kept chanting In Mani though all the blisters on her arms had faded, as if to ward against some daemon. And then she was gone. Relieved, he removed his cloak. His mage skills had always been somewhat limited and he had feared the Invisibility spell on Isham would have worn off before she left. “This is all your doing” said Isham, becoming visible again, his voice broken and barely recognizable… Tears welled in his eyes, but turned to ice as they rolled down his cheeks. The frozen tears fell, shattering in countless diamond-like pebbles bouncing on the floor. * * * Eliza entered the imposing Yew Courthouse and walked up to Inspector Jasper. For some reason, law enforcers always made her nervous. “Excuse me, Sir” she said timidly. “I would like to file a Missing Person report.” -Regine Sakkarah Abel

Chatting With Em Dudley October 27, 2009 By: Lissa Eldi [*V*] After last nights graveyard event, which featured well over an hour of spawn, culminating in a boss Mongbat, EM Dudley (and the Spirit Advisor) hung around to chat with anyone who cared to for quite a long time. He is a very patient person, and was fortunately wearing a doublet which was crafted by the Minoc Flak Jacket Co. hehe....cute and creative. First I want to say, the event was great fun, and unique items were given out in undisclosed numbers: Some sort of unique bandages which I did not see Orange hued lanterns, named light of knowledge. (Tancred got one and might be persuaded to post a screenie) A book off the Mongbat boss...aptly titled The Top Prize. (This was won by Pearl) I'm going to apologize, I have no screenshots and will be telling high points from memory. ~ Some events will give items and some will not. ~There will be an event next month called Feast of the Harvest Moon. ~ The contest and silly fun type events like at last weekends Harvest Moon Festival, will be prizes like GM crafted clothing with clever names. (I received two of those; one for apple bobbing contest, a jester hat crafted by Britannia Apple Growers Inc., 6 total given out; and a wizard hat for costume contest crafted by Moonglow Costume Emporium, 5 total given out.) ~ "Meatier" Events, featuring battles and such will feature giveaways of more unique items, such as last nights lanterns and bandages. ~ All the EM's had a meeting Monday night with their boss to clarify what they should and shouldn't be giving, and in what numbers. There should be more equity between shards. Movement is going away from globally handing out items to everyone. ~ Said numbers of each item will be undisclosed ~ The Commander Foxx/Belander saga will be ending next month with an Epic ending...Epic being the word Dudley used. ~ A dual Tram/Fel event is in the works, might be slightly different on each facet. He is not sure what to do about the fel duels, I assume from what i've read this is due to technical issues to prevent griefing...but you would need to ask him that. ~ Constructive feedback and ideas continue to be invited, and everyone should try to attend the House of Common meetings, held on Sunday nights at 9 ~ He feels that for him, in game methods are the best for getting word out to folks. He favors scrolls because the event announcers are limited to one-liners and are more cumbersome to set up. ~ Don't expect a lot of updates on the website, Dudley is a person after all, and freely admitted to us that website construction is "by far not his strong suit". There may be more but after I came into the talk a few minutes late and had a short's night sleep, this is what stands out for me. The chat began with some players being pretty unhappy, but I think by the end, everyone had a better understanding of things. Thank you Dudley and Vladimere for the time and patience you put into all that you do!

Moonglow Governance Remains Strong Thanks to the Moonglow Town Council
Posted on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 5:08 PM EDT by Fallon Valor (Atlantic)
ATLANTIC—The magical Isle of Verity, home of the Lyceum, has long served as a hub for knowledge and learning. Yet, perhaps more importantly, the Isle is a mainstay of Atlantic history: the Atlantic mage Tower, one of Atlantic’s most renowned establishments, was once located here. Verity has seen many visitors over the years, but one guild has chosen to make the Isle its permanent home. The Moonglow Town Council (MTC), based in the city of Moonglow, was founded to establish a government for the citizens of the Isle of Verity. When GreyPawn, a former Seer and a figure of legend on Atlantic, established the Council, his intent was to build a virtuous community, justly governed, who called Verity their home. The MTC is one of the first – and perhaps the most historic – player governments on Atlantic. “A lot of guilds pretend to operate cities, and almost all of them claim to boast a family-like environment,” said GreyPawn. “Moonglow Town Council has done both since before doing so was trendy, and has actually made positive strides in advancing causes for the city itself.” The MTC has promoted many changes to Moonglow over the years, some of which have resulted in lasting changes. “The Moonglow Beautification Project was spearheaded by the MTC and resulted in the establishment of the statue garden in front of the bank,” GreyPawn said. “Personal initiatives by Mayors in the past have lead to the removal of hedges from fields, allowing cotton and wheat to be harvested along with vorpal bunny hunting. A current push is underway to restore the fallen Atlantic Mage Tower to the green area beside the tailor shop, or at minimum the Eternal Flame of Mages.” Organized as a magocracy, the MTC is lead by a strong executive – namely, its mayor. The mayor appoints council members, who carry out the directives of the executive. Several of these council members also hold special positions, including the vice-mayor, chancellor, minister of defense, and minister of commerce. The key to MTC’s growth and success, according to GreyPawn, lies in its tradition of strong leadership. “MTC has had a long line of impressive leaders serving the Council. Mayors such as Fong, Samon Triest, Cal Hurst, and Yasamin that took up the mantle of leadership contributed greatly to Moonglow’s growth as a city and as a guild.” In addition to formal leadership, the MTC also has a vibrant aristocracy, as well as several “hero-level characters,” in GreyPawn’s words. Humanis and the Orcs are notable characters whose success, in many ways, stemmed from their early roles in the MTC. Despite the MTC’s strength and permanence since its founding nearly ten years ago, the Council has also faced its share of challenges. As a functioning city government, one of the MTC’s primary focuses has been encouraging widespread participation. “Inactivity has been the biggest challenge MTC has encountered in its history. Ensuring the survival and continuity of a functional Moonglow government in spite of the natural ebb and flow of activity has been at the top of our priorities,” said GreyPawn. Over the past decade, Britannia has undergone innumerable changes: new places, new people, and new rules have forever altered how Atlantians conduct their virtual lives. In response to these changes, the MTC has evolved to ensure that it is always ready to meet the needs of its citizens. “Originally, Moonglow Town Council was much more zealous with regards to the Virtues. Over its history, it has mellowed considerable and now is more accepting. Leadership methodology has also evolved over time, shifting toward a more democratic mindset rather than the Council’s magocratic roots,” GreyPawn said. “Another interesting note about the evolution of MTC would be the transition over time of the guild color. Originally a bright blue, ‘Moonglow Blue’ has gone through the gamut of being dark blue, special hue blue, and as of late a hue closer to valorite. MTC blue is considered the trademark color of the guild.” The MTC relies heavily on the loyalty and virtue of its core membership. MTC’s motto is “semper veritas,” which is translated “always truth.” It is customary for MTC members to greet one another with this phrase. The MTC creed, according to GreyPawn, “is that Moonglow Endures, and we are sworn to continue to serve our shard and our city as best we can. GreyPawn is a former Seer and the founder of the Moonglow Town Council.

Night of the Dead | ||
Posted on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 11:40 AM EDT by Nh'bdy (Atlantic)
Night of the Dead A chilly autumn wind roared through the Moonglow Cemetery extinguishing my small lantern. At the aged iron gates I saw a solitary guard approaching. I knew I had been seen. “I swear to you I am not a grave robber. I need help!” I blurted out awkwardly. The guard said nothing in reply. I knew why I would not be believed. My clothes were filthy with graveyard dust and I had a shovel in my hand. The silence of the guard did nothing to reassure me as he drew his blade. “You’ve got to believe me sir, the undead are down there, hundreds of them. They are building a tunnel. Remember the ships! They are coming, can’t you hear them digging?” The guard said nothing but he watched me silently through the slits of his plate helmet. He shambled closer and I could see that his hands were thick with decay; the fingers had rotted down to the bone. I turned to run but there were more approaching, I was surrounded. Note: The event will start on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 8:00 PM EST. Search the island of Moonglow for clues and an entry into the tunnels. The entry way will be near where you find clues indicating recent undead activity. Certain individuals such as Inu and Selicus may also have clues. Please note that you cannot get into the tunnels until the event starts. The Night of the Dead event will continue on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 8:30 PM EST. Submitted by EM Eris

The dying shard of Felucca bore witness to the most joyous occasion of matrimony on this day. Beset with killing, imps, chatter, and preemptive infidelity. The reporter was asked multiple times to ensure the public that this was [b]BY NO MEANS[b] done for items, assuring me that such a claim would be without reason and completely not at all true in the least bit. The bride went on to reassure me that if this wedding were an ocean that the rings would be as insignificant as a grain of sand annoyingly stuck in the eye lid of the smallest fish. After alerting her that not all fish have eye lids she attempted to stab me and lept a rail, fleeing into the night.

Luna Fairgrounds Winners Announced

Luna Fairgrounds Winners Announced Wednesday, 21 October 2009 Em Eris and Em Nestor are proud to announce the winner of the Luna Fairgrounds Design Contest; let's hear a round of applause for Buns of Glory! It was very difficult to select a winner because each of the entries was spectacular and unique. After considerable deliberation it was decided that elements from the other entries will also be included in the completed fairgrounds. AtlanticVlad and Zym Dragon who also submitted designs will also receive a plaque. Below is a picture and description of Buns of Glory's design, please note that the final fairgrounds will include some changes and additions. Buns of Glory's design "As you walk outside Luna you come to a long fence thats filled with fire, this I believe will make people curious to see what has changed. When you first come to the entrance you see two signs one on each side. They shall read Luna Fairgrounds. When coming into the gate you get two huge flames. As you continue you come upon the Stables, which will be able to not only work as a fully functional stable but also as a new battle chicken lizard fighting pen as you can see there is two sides one for each chicken then when said 3,2,1 GO! The chickens can be told to attack. I think this will be a terrific addition to the fairgrounds keeping new people and old coming to participate. If you choose to go the other direction you come to a nice fountain and places to sit with flowers and an overall wonderful spot to sit down and chat with friends. After that you continue up the road you can either go to the stage where you can play instruments or you can act out plays for friends, sing or do anything entertaining. You can go to the card tent to play all sorts of games and drink! Friends can relax with playing chess, checkers any game that they like the most. As you go up the road you come to an archery tent, you can practice your long shot or your short shot with lots of arrows available but be careful not to shoot the arrows over the Luna walls or the guards will come! As you continue up the road you see a beautiful pond where you can not only sit and enjoy the beauty as you talk with friends or tell stories of what you have kill! Have nothing to talk about? Perfect! Go down the road to the fish shack and pick up a pole and go fishing in the pond! I've heard the best place to fish is off the bridge but you didn't hear it from me! If you get tired and it's too late to depart to your next hunt or location you can stay in the camp next to the fishing shack. There are sleeping bags for you, food and my favorite booze! Tell campfire stories with your friends and have a wonderful time! I think that my design will offer multiple fun things to do! The tents should have roofs, however I wanted to show you what was in them. My park can be used for guild events, Role-playing events, EM event's whatever is needed it will be useful!" Submitted by EM Eris Congratulations to our Winner, Buns of Glory & our Runner-Ups, Zym Dragon and Vladimir!

Bag Art Contest! -Deadline: 10/30/09
Posted on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 3:14 PM EDT by Stupid Miner (LakeSuperior)
We are looking for the most creative people in UO to create a piece of art that will be displayed in the rewards hall. There will only be a top winner. To have a chance at winning please create an original piece of bag art and then take a screen shot of it. Crop the image to only show the bag, and the art within, and send it in an E-mail to: [email protected] and [email protected]. At the end of the month we will select a winner and it will then be locked down in the rewards hall and an honourable mention will be placed to dignify the winner. For those who do not know what “bag art” is, it is taking different items from within the game and placing them inside a backpack or a bag to create an image, symbol or scene. An extremely simple version of bag art is using gold and silver coins to make symbols or words. However a more advanced would be having grey, blue and yellow cloth with rocks and other items to create a sun rise/set. There is no theme for this event let your imagination run wild. You may enter as many pieces of art as you wish. The Dead-Line is Friday October 30th. We look forward to seeing all the entries and may your best be done.

NO PETS OR SUMMONS will be allowed in the fight. This is due to the confined nature of the fighting area. No mounts, flying, or mount-speed animal forms are allowed. Other than that, anything goes. This will not be a spectator event. If you are not a registered team, you will not get to see the fight, unfortunately. This is to prevent interference. Team registration: Please send an e-mail to [email protected], or simply reply to this posting, with the names, guild, and fighting style of your 3 primary team members, as well as up to 2 backups in the case that one of your primaries is a no-show. A team name is also encouraged, for the winning team will get recognition for their achievement. A future posting will be made, before the competition, with details on meeting locations and such. [Report] Finding the Trammel Demons..
Posted on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 1:08 PM EDT by Mapper (Europa)
Nathan walked into the Nujelm Theater bang on 8pm and got straight to the point, The plan was to Exorcise the demons from Mericles soul. A witch named Mizara Khan had agreed to help Nathan by pulling the demons from Mericles body. Each demon was in a separate dungeon in Trammel and contained a book with keyword, and a 'Soul Shard'. We had 30 minutes to search the realm and kill these 7 demons. I ran to Covetous first and found a black balron named 'Covetous'. After the battle I discovered a 'Soul Shard' on the corpse and Ash who was also fighting the monster had received a book with the keyword 'REL'. I moved to Deceit and arrived rather late as the balron for that dungeon had been killed. After a wait at Nujel'm others started arriving back and so far 4 keywords have been found from the 7 dungeons. (Check the next reply for updated keywords) Nathan stated we were to return on Sunday where we would continue the quest.

Guild Registration | ||
Posted on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 12:26 PM EDT by WarderDragon (Baja)
Guild Registration By EMSeppo We would like to invite all guild leaders to register your guild with us. Pertaining to this, we require following information, 1) Guild Name and Abbreviation. 2) Guild Leader/Representative. 3) Guild Size (approximate active individual players). 4) Guild house (XYZ Coordinates/Facet). 5) Guild Alignment: Good, Evil, or Neutral. 6) Outlook towards Gargoyles: Friendly, Curious, Irked, Hostile. 7) What is prime time for your guild generally? Please, note that some of this information is what one might consider role playing in nature. However, it is simple enough for any guild, RP/PvP/PvM, to come up with a suitable response. Please put some thought into it and reach a consensus amongst yourself before registering. Notes: 1) Please use the Feedback Option, if you want the information you supply to remain confidential. 2) If you are not currently in a guild, then you are always welcome to make one up and register. 3) There is no specific registration deadline at this moment. However, as they say, early bird catches the… donut? 4) Pick a guild house if you do not have one already. 5) Question six is rather important and we will appreciate if guilds that pick hostile, act accordingly. This means, for example, that you should not attend any relevant event on a gargoyle that belongs to a guild registered as hostile towards gargoyles. Obviously, we don’t expect you to shun gargoyles completely but merely to play the part when necessary. 6) Questions 5 and 6 are independent. You can have an evil guild that is friendly towards gargoyles or conversely, a good guild that is hostile towards gargoyles. 7) It is always useful if you let us know your guild leader/representative’s alternate character names. This makes it easy to contact you if required. This is merely a suggestion. Related threads: 1) Keep Britannia Clean! Send The Gargoyles Home!

Zento Docks Open for Business
Posted on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, 8:05 PM EDT by DevilsOwn (LegendsAOL)
This evening the newly constructed docks at the southern end of the town of Zento were officially opened by Mayor Kryptman. As the crowd began to gather it was noticed that Lord Bullet has still not found a tailor to repair the (very large, it seems) hole in his pocket! Lady Damia also inquired as to whether the Harbor Master had straightened out the docking rules for ships. Mayor Kryptman then called for attention and told the story of how the docks came to be.... The story of the docks began three years ago when I opened the Rusty Anchor Pub. One thing that bothered me was that there were no docks and it made no sense. Later on, as Lady Damia and The Mystic Circle and others came along they began to share my same vision, that Zento needed her own docks. The Mayor then invited everyone to inspect the docks, pointing out that nets can be tossed from it's planks. As we were enjoying the view and the sea air a cluster of cats appeared on shore, always a prelude to the appearance of EM Tashik. After some playful pushing of people off the dock edge all retired to the Rusty Anchor for a round of celebration ale. Should you make the journey to Zento take a moment to visit the docks.... and be sure to say hello to the frog!

Town Guards Complete Second Recruitment Test
Posted on Monday, October 19, 2009, 4:53 PM EDT by WarderDragon (Baja)
Town Guard Recruits Promoted By WarderDragon On Saturday, October 17th, Her Majesty Queen Regnant Dawn of Britannia ordered that a second round of Standard Recruitment Tests (or S.R.Ts) be administered to determine who might be eligable to become a ranking member of the Town Guard Brigade in New Britain. As you may remember, the Town Guards were established by the recently deceased Captain Commander Aino Nystad, who had created the military unit to protect the Capitol and its Citizens from Orcs, Red Caps, Minor Demons, and other outsiders who would threaten Britannian Sovereignty and Peace. When I arrived, Sir Robert the Ranger was introducing himself to Corporal Brackus and the five recruits who had arrived to take that afternoons evaluation. He explained that he was chosen to evaluate the Guards, but would be relying on Corporal Brackus' help to administer the test and determine the results. He also expressed his condolences to the recruits for the loss of their Captain Commander. The Guards then proceeded with their test. Brackus tested his recruits on a number of practiced drills, including the building of fortifications and the parade march. Robert then asked to see how they might perform an arrest. With a smirk, Brackus ordered the Town Guards to arrest Recruit Yalp. They quickly disarmed his spellbook, surrounded, and restrained him. The Bucket Brigade Drill required that the Town Guards race from one end of the arena to the other, in full armor, carrying buckets of water to extinguish a magically conjured flame. When the drills were complete, Robert announced that they would be visiting the Royal Guard Beastmaster to test themselves on teamwork in actual combat. When they arrived, plenty of taunting was exchanged between the woman (whom Brackus later mistook for a man) and the Recruits. After defeating two strange green lizards, a diseased ratman, a terethan matriarch, and a bronze dragon, Robert announced that he believed all recruits were ready and that they would all be promoted to the rank of Town Guard. Congradulations Leithia, Yalp, Calyndrell, Ariane Du Bris, and Alfred for their successful completion of the Recruitment Tests.

Seeking Solace | ||
Posted on Sunday, October 18, 2009, 11:33 AM EDT by Cymidei Fier (Baja)
From the Golden Brew Tavern By EM Seppo “Grief makes one hour ten” She waited silently next to him, as he stared blankly at the meticulously carved snow eagle perched on a pedestal that seemed to take an odd shine under the glare of the sun. “It is nice, Your Majesty,” he finally commented in an awkward manner. Despite the politeness of his words, she felt the depth of the anger within him. It was then clear to her that, left to his own device, soon he will lash out in a fury blind to the difference between a friend or a foe. She would not vainly attempt to douse it, but she could try to give it a direction and boundaries. So, with a hesitant resolve, she said, “We know his location now.” She watched as his hand swiftly reached for the hilt of his sword. “And, I wish for you to lead our efforts to capture him”.. She pitched her voice with an edge of a royal command as she finished her sentence .. “Alive.” Just then, somewhere outside the walls, a town guard bellowed out a routine call while doing his rounds – serving a grim reminder of the recent events.

Trubo Captured In Bloody Exodus Brawl
Posted on Sunday, October 18, 2009, 10:53 AM EDT by Cymidei Fier (Baja)
The crowd pressed into the throne room eagerly awaiting the arrival of Queen Dawn. Rumors circulated through the throne room about Lord Trubo Saius and the discovery of his hiding place and his involvement in the assassination of Lady Aino Nystad and the killing at Lord Blackthorn’s Castle. After a few moments, Queen Dawn entered the throne room and addressed us all. “My friends, my fellow warriors I will be brief. Let me first commend and recognize those that aided my agents in their investigation. It is due to your cleverness and determination that we stand here today, ready to strike. Some have questioned me of what is to be done about the ex-disciple Zephera. For now, stay away. So long as she is content to remain in her corner. Some suggested she still posed some kind of danger. Reports written to me said that Trubo, curse his name, had visited her. I will say again as I have said before. Should you find and confront Trubo Saius. Bring him alive, if at all possible. For greater things may be at work, and I believe there is still something we may learn. Yes, alive, and coherent. No doubt the whisperings and rumors have made their rounds and I can say, Kullervo Nystad will be leading you to confront Saius. Despite the death of his only sibling, Kullervo has remained calm and vigilant. In this errand, he has my confidence as I hope he has yours as well. Before I let you go let me say this. In each of you I do not doubt your abilities or your resourcefulness and by the same token, I have no illusion of Trubo Saius as well. I do not underestimate what he may bring against us. So in what you do the sacred virtues must guide you.” We met Kullervo at the West Britain Bank and many noticed that he was wearing a bright new pair of Air Urlik running shoes. For those of you who don’t know Urlik Fangborn of the Town Guard made Sollerets of Sacrifice the most fashionable shoes in Britannia by wearing them on his official patrols! Next we set out for the Exodus Dungeon in Ilshenar to confront Trubo Saius in his base. Just outside of the Exodus Dungeon we faced stiff resistance from legions of dangerous Nether Daemons, Upgraded Golems and Modified Clockworks and Slavers. After a long struggle we were able to drive off Trubo’s minions and gain entry into the Exodus Dungeon. Our fight against Trubo Saius’ army intensified once we were inside and we pressed relentlessly into the final room where Lord Trubo awaited us. Lord Saius hovered overhead just out of reach as he taunted us with bold words, including a vile comment about Queen Dawn. “Let us raise this land anew! The master‘s memory speaks to me. Serve the master! Serve his memory! Better yet flee for your lives. It's far more satisfying to kill cowards. Such devotion and strength could be of use! Very well if you will not bow…" In reaction to Lord Trubo’s insults someone in the crowd remarked. “Look who is standing up there out of reach.” We were all ready to engage Trubo and put a stop to his madness. Kullervo and Trubo exchanged a few more taunts and then Trubo descended into the crowd. For a few moments, it seemed that Trubo was free of the entity that possessed him and acting under his own will. Lord Trubo’s terrible powers left most of us slaughtered on the dungeon floor which was slick with blood. Lord Trubo unleashed volleys of lightning and hurled globes of water at everyone in the room. I tried to stand at a distance from Lord Trubo and shoot him at a long range but it was to no avail! Soon I was dead and most of the party was dead also. Trubo’s life was slowly ebbing away when Kullervo struck Trubo with a powerful blow and knocked him out cold! Lady Halo In Reverse reportedly stole Lord Trubo Saius’ old worn robe, when he was knocked out. Trubo was taken back to the Castle’s throne room and Kullervo told us that he would be kept prisoner by the Queen’s sentries. Lord Trubo hissed that “this is not over yet” as he was lead away.

Feluccan Merchant Suffers as Vesper Guards Remain M.I.A.
Posted on Saturday, October 17, 2009, 2:53 PM EDT by Fallon Valor (Atlantic)
ATLANTIC—The War of Shadows ushered an era of change in Britannia. Shadowlord invaders descended upon numerous townships, creating virtual war zones, most notably in the Felucca facet. Feluccan town guards, unequipped to defend against the Shadowlord armies, abandoned their posts, leaving local populations to fend for themselves until order could be restored. Most town guards returned following the defeat of the Shadowlords, but the Feluccan town of Vesper remains unguarded. As a result, one local business proprietor has seen his sales decline. While a few long-time residents of Atlantic may remember Frank Bama for his thieving exploits, most know him as the owner and operator of Vesper’s longest-running, Felucca-based mini-mall. Although the establishment’s name has changed over the years, most players know it as the “Potions and More MiniMall” (88°57’N, 113°24’E). “The current name, which will probably change now that I am thinking of it, is ‘Maverick and Tully Fel Vendor House In Guard Zone,’” said owner Frank Bama, who has been in the business for over a decade. “Maybe I should switch it to ‘Tully’s Risk Your Life for Cheap Goods Shop.’” Since its foundation sometime prior to the release of The Age of Shadows, the “MiniMall” has been located within the Vesper guard zone. Frank Bama was not the house’s original owner – the establishment, originally called “LLTS Vesper Annex,” was placed prior to house ownership, when houses were claimed by whoever possessed the house key. Since insurance did not exist at the time, Frank Bama managed to steal the key and has owned the plot ever since. “Never had anything in the house, but it was a nice house I would visit occasionally,” Bama said. “Anyway, long story even longer, the powers that be in Britannia decided to create house ownership, where one account owned the house and could change the front door lock. There were all kinds of rules to decide who had the most legitimate claim to a house. I had about five houses I claimed back then. I put a guildstone in this ‘Vesper Annex’ to increase my claim and my right to the house. I won.” Soon after he successfully commandeered the “Annex,” Frank Bama stopped thieving and began selling goods at the location. He allowed his other five grandfathered plots lapse and focused his attention on building his new business. For many years, business was booming. The establishment’s location within the guard zone made customers feel safe. The guard zone aside, however, many other aspects made this vendor shop unique. “Reasonable is an understatement when you compare my prices to [Luna prices],” Bama said. “The only other thing that makes my store different is occasionally you can see a red shopping there. Though, if they cause problems, they get banned for two months or so. Oh, and I can’t resize the house, either, because it is a grandfathered, improperly placed house.” As long as the house was in the guard zone, blue and red players felt equally safe shopping at the establishment. When the War of Shadow turned Felucca-Vesper into a war zone, however, his business began to decline. “At first, I couldn’t even recall into runes marked right outside my house,” Bama remembered. “I’d be booted to Jhelom with a system message saying something like, ‘You can’t recall there; you have been moved to safety.’” None of his customers could recall to the “MiniMall,” either, until Ultima Online (UO) Lead Developer Tim “Draconi” Cotton learned of the problem and came to the rescue of the establishment. Sadly, with the absence of the Vesper town guards, Bama’s business has remained “slow and spotty,” according to Bama. Most players are too afraid to shop in Felucca. Presently, Bama’s primary customer base consists of more experienced players, who stop by the “MiniMall” for a sense of nostalgia. “Paranoia strikes deep into the hearts of many UO players,” said Bama, “and people are just not willing to risk their lives, or insurance money, or stuff for cheap goods. Saw a guy shopping at my store the other day bare-bottomed. He says my deals are great, but he comes empty and naked with his detect hidden toon.” Despite Bama’s recent decline in business, he maintains a positive outlook. “I always liked being the underdog. I like living in Fel,” Bama said. “I will keep up word of mouth advertizing, probably mostly in my guild. Moving to another facet just isn’t my style.” Bama is planning some adjustments to restore a sense of security to the “MiniMall.” “I think I am going to set out my Crystal Portal on the first floor and set it so everyone can use it,” Bama said. “Then if someone tries to off you, they have to do it before your toon says, ‘Minoc Mint.’ I already have a little escape portal on the side of my house, which used to be for my red shoppers being attacked by blues, but now can go both ways.” Frank Bama can usually be found restocking his vendors at the “MiniMall,” adjacent to the Vesper tailor shop, “The Spinning Wheel,” ( 87°53'N, 115°44'E) in Felucca.

Alchemist's Alacrity | ||
Posted on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, 6:34 AM EDT by Shiel (Oceania)
Join us at (the Barracks) on Wednesday the 14th at 7.30pm to help an old Alchemist. No skill required! Such was the message Lucy had to offer us.. I waited at the Barracks for people to arrive. While I did a logbook caught my eye and I wondered whether the genie statue was safe. I also wondered who Watchman Calderon was.. and whether he would be available for an interview at some stage.. but that is a reporter's perogative. Speaking of Interviews.. I should also corner our new Queen or the Gargish one at some stage.. royalty always makes for good interviews.. so it is said. I have officially asked for their comments - we will see how that goes. Lucy greeted us and talked with us for a short while. She announced that the rewards from the last zoo food event will be placed shortly (after this event hopefully!) I am sorry that I missed that one..but for those involved it was so spoken :) Tonight, an old Alchemist (slightly eccentric..) needed our help to mix his potions. Lucy gated us to the old Counsellor Guild hall at Serpents Hold, where the three Serpent Statues still stand vigil. The Serpent Temple in Tortoise Lagoon is still accessible too! You will need some passwords however.. I will have to dig those up for you (They are from an old event when Cerulean and Sienna were still around). Barney the Famed Alchemist stood awaiting us - apologies for the lack of a screenshot of him personally.. it seems he is a little camera shy. He explained the rules to us. The three contestants stand behind the benches. Then he places a book containing the potion ingredients in the box. Once he says go.. ...we run and collect all the ingredients, add them to the pouch and grind the potion loudly! The first one to finish advances to the next round. The first three contestants were Twinkle and Raven of EOB and Lord Vasagralem. They waited for their cue.. and with a go! they were off to collect the necessary ingredients. When they were checked, Raven won the first round! The correct brewing for the Trinsic Battle Elixir! It contains no nightshade (Twinkle wanted to poison it!) and also needs ale (which Lord Vasagralem missed). The other ingredients were: The second round was for Cook, Illusionry of EOB and Lord Obsequious. Illusionry was fastest making the Wrath of the Ferret! Its ingredients were as follows: The third round.. I got to compete! with Quinua and Smokeless Fire of (GawD). We made the Charlatan's Blight potion! Its ingredients were as follows: Unfortunately, I was too slow.. Quinua advanced to the final from our round. The three finalists waited nervously while the books were placed.. Raven, Quinua and Illusionry were the three.. The final they made the Zombie something potion! Its ingredients were.. As they raced to the finish.. Raven finished first! Yet it seems it didn't quite mix right.. he had forgotten an egg and one nightshade..no tan for that Zombie.. Illusionry finished next.. but.. The winner was Quinua! Congratulations to Quinua!! All present and correct! After which we were all give Cloaks of Silence as Rewards. One more pic of us all wandering round in them hehe Thank you Barney for allowing us to assist you! and thank you kindly for the books so I could display all of the ingredients for the report (Im sorry for publicly announcing it all... but I am a reporter after all..) The original books will go on display in the Oceanian Event Museum. Keep an eye on the Pantomime Horse (Rewards Hall) in Malas.. we were told there will be an award there for Quinua. I met Aeon and Vespera at the Homestead placing the zoo rewards after the event - they told me that only some of the awards have been placed because some of them were incorrectly labeled and needed to be fixed/remade. They say they will have them in place as soon as they can. One more piece of news.. after receiving several requests for event notification in Luna, they are going to consider doing so. They have not confirmed this.. but hopefully that will happen for the next one :) To close the report - a few pictures of Miss Echo's lovely winning design at Britain Bank. Well Done, M'Lady - it looks wonderful. Shiel.

[Story] The Archbishop's Tale
Posted on Monday, October 12, 2009, 4:12 PM EDT by Mapper (Europa)
Archbishop Thomas Lord was drenched in sweat. He had been fearing the worse since he had been given the Coronation service to perform. The Church was not about to listen to the insane ramblings of one of its failed brethren about a prophecy and the killings. This was a new dawn and the people needed to see the Queen crowned in public and not hidden away or dealt with in secrecy. The people had come from across the lands to witness the ceremony and for this, at least, Thomas was happy. Being somewhat short of faith at times he was convinced that the assassins were everywhere and would be only too grateful to stop the service with a single poison-tipped arrow from a balcony... or something like that. Making his way back to his rooms he felt the presence before he saw it and he had the sense to not turn round and confront it but to run with all his speed. Through a door. He bolted it and continued through the maze of corridors that made up the Royal Castle. He heard the crashing and splintering of wood and steel as the door was broken down and the roar of his killer. He called for the Guards who quickly mobilised and began to lock doors and seal off areas of the castle as Thomas ran through. There was death in the castle that night but Thomas was determined that his secret would not die with him. Archbishop Thomas Lord decided to travel North to seek shelter and speak of this to his old friend... -------------------------------------------------------------------- Some time later, and more composed, Thomas sat down opposite his old friend and they spoke for a long time about the past, the present and the future. Thomas knew he was short of time and that there was nowhere left to run. Except perhaps... but for now he decided to sleep rough in the woods and to make better plans when he was able. The Archbishop speaks to his old friend. Taken from the EM Website.

In the Hot Seat : Pan Arcane
Posted on Sunday, October 11, 2009, 5:15 PM EDT by Paul Harvey (LakeAustin)
1. How old are you? I am twenty three years old. 2. How long have you played UO? I have played Ultima Online since June 13, 1998. I turned twelve three weeks later. 3. How long have you been on L.A. ? I arrived on the very first day, September 18, 2002. 4. Many of us know but for those who don't, what is your preferred play style? template? I have no play style or template preferences. I can adapt to any style and any template. I consider myself to be a complete player. 5. Some would say you are controversial, do you see yourself that way? No, I do not have any self doubt. I see myself as honest, non-confrontational person. I speak my mind and give others the opportunity to speak theirs. At the end of the day, actions in the game are what count and not what is spoken of the game. I will always take a verbal stand for my actions. 6. Tell us a little about whats going on now with Pan Arcane and your "retirement" from PvP. Following my return from a nearly five-year hiatus we regained distinction in Lake Austin's PvP community ultimately as the elite class. It got to the point where large guilds were setting their alarm clocks to server up just to "sneak" champion spawns under our radar, or ceasing to exist completely. Needless to say the PvP atmosphere had become a little stale and unsatisfying. We decided to set our focus on all different aspects of the game, also providing the time necessary to recharge what is left in the tank. If we regain the missing passion you can expect to see us PvP one day again. The Trammel based style of play is one that I have always excelled at, but never took the time out to enjoy in such great depth as I did in the earlier years of UO. We established a movement - or call it a challenge if you will to revive the community on Lake Austin and encourage other players to start working toward the same. Already you are seeing the results, sporadically. People are coming out to play more. I think as things progress Lake Austin will become one of the premier communities in Ultima Online again. I already have a lot of things on my plate looking forward the future. 7. King Pan Arcane? A self declaration? And what weight does this carry? Expectations? What will you do as king? This bit initially started while lovely Dawn was giving a speech about the death of King Casca. My reaction was, "What King Casca?" My words to Dawn were precisely that. The Lake Austin community doesn't need a storyline, or a non-player King. They want the real deal. My notion to Dawn was that any King or Queen will first need to dethrone me, something that so-called "King" Casca could never do. It progressed as a reputation more recently after the Stygian Abyss expansion when somebody had asked me to join the "Rivenmyst" community as I understand it is called, which I initially accepted. Their immediate motion was that they could be "Queen" and I could be "King" - I liked that. A day later it became apparent to me that others involved wanted to one-up my co-existing establishment by calling themselves "the first" (when my house was the first) maybe thinking it would fly past me. I separated my establishment from Rivenmyst and instead as King chose to dub the area "Arcania". Ultimately, I wanted to use this to boast a friendly little Trammel-oriented competition but soon after it turned a bit soggy. I still see good things upcoming for Arcania; Rivenmyst or which ever name you wish to call it. 8. How do you feel about being accused of using 3rd party cheat programs? Do you? What programs do you use if any? My answer comes to you in the form of a question. How would you feel about being accused of cheating? I like to have other players forget about the third party, and instead focus on the fifth and sixth party. By this point they must understand there are no foul tricks. They are just being outclassed and that is all it is. Pan Arcane don't need no black sheep wall. 9. How many computers/accounts do you use while playing? 1. Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.93GHz; 256MB RAM; ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series. 10. What inspires you these days? The thought of us 'Arcanes' going out the right away: nobody questioning who we are or what we accomplished. We just want to go out our way, being the best that ever did it 'our way' no matter Trammel or Felucca. 11. Who has been your biggest influence on game play? Soldevi Arcane otherwise known as the undisputable Multanijean. The prodigy who played UO longer than I, who has experienced as much as I, who I once took under my wing to become the most thunderous Arcane of all time, even greater than me myself. I came back because he was constantly nagging, every day for over a thousand days. As you can see our chemistry in the game never changed. 12. Who has been your greatest nemesis? The only player that I have conquered time after time after time, who I still regard as a nemesis is Akasha the leader of the Akashic Brotherhood (A|B) the first "big name" guild on LA other than my own. I don't even enjoy bringing up his name but he was too much fun to play against, that I miss. This player was undoubtedly the greatest loser I have ever come to know in my whole history of playing Ultima Online. Seven years later the name 'Akasha' motivates me like the taste of blood to a ferocious furry lion. To this day, I wish the Akashic Brotherhood would reform under his leadership - that he would resume his role as my true nemesis so I could deliver to him another series of proverbial asswhoopings. No other player could pester me or motivate me so much. 13. Who has been your greatest ally? I am my greatest ally. As a young child somebody once gave me a pencil that read, "You can if you think you can!" I haven't stopped believing in myself since. 14. Tell us a little bit about "ROAD". How many members? When it was formed? why? Any mission statement? ROAD stands for the Revolution of Arcane Domination. There are two members, Soldevi Arcane and Pan Arcane, that form its core which came together day one of Lake Austin. Artanis Arcane was the third party involved obviously in its creation but he moved on from the game in 2003. We were first known as Oblivious Empire (O:E) and have also gone on to be known as the Arcane Empire (A:E) or Run Off And Recall (ROAR). Lake Austin is where we established and where we will complete the 'Arcane' identity as it ever were. 15. What flavor ice cream is your favorite? Breyers Heavenly Hash, but which ever flavor you're eating will do fine. Just pass it over. 16. Tell us something about Pan Arcane that we don't know? There is a person behind the character. I am not all that I play to be. I have explained to others - I do not walk around my profession saying I am the "best employee", nor do I claim to my wife to be the "best husband" as much as that is one day what she deserves. I too have feelings and other social understanding. Pan Arcane is a role - a saga - a legacy that I have started will one day finish. Yes, I will walk away some day with all of the "controversy" that makes this vibrant personality come to life. Pan Arcane is more than my character, but my Picasso gaming personality and one that I am totally addicted to. When I step away from the computer none of the quarrels or qualms exist anymore. I don't even think about the game again until the next time I log in. I separate life from the game and being Pan Arcane is something that I surely missed for those years that I was away, and something that I will miss when it is all said and done. I just hope people do not take all that I do or say to heart, but instead look at the good aspects of challenge & confusion that I bring to their every day gaming life. I am an experienced roleplayer, through and through. 17. Is there anything you would like to see added or changed within the game? I had a thought about this recently. It is obvious that the game has a shell of its former subscriptions. So, they want to make it exciting for those that stay around? How about make a change that will bring a new, exciting element to player interaction. Open up housing to a house per shard instead of a house per account and change the rules on inactive accounts that hold housing so they'll fall quicker. Let's fill up some of these empty spots with worthwhile housing. I can presently find a keep spot on most of the existing shards, our shard included. So far gone are the days when you had to work for a suit of armor, let alone own a house. I'd love to see people trading housing again. There is also so much land that they should just change all of the lands to a Felucca ruleset and keep guard zones imposed in town regions. With insurance it does not matter if you die to another player the odd time. I have so much to say on this particular topic that you're going to have to catch me for another interview. 18. Do you feel you are misunderstood? People derive their own understanding and I respect that. If they take initiative and respect me, they will understand my character in a different light. If you do not respect me, do not expect it in return. I am a personality hard not to like. 19. If they wrote a book about you what would the title be? Pan Arcane - and the first sentence shall read, "Once upon all time..." 20. You recently declared war on the new village Ryvenmist, define what that means ? Can you really declare war on a tram village? special tactics involved? This is not a war. People misinterpreted that from the beginning. This is a trade war. This is a way to promote friendly rivalry between the two establishments - to hopefully promote establishment & vendor growth in the Ter Mur facet. The King is already set in his ways - he shall bring inexpensive goods and prosperity to the table for the people of Arcania and the whole of Lake Austin. Will the Rivenmyst peasantry do the same? 21. Can you share some insight on tactics, Templates, and equipment? Play a template you decide best suits you. Equipment varies on the character type you play, but hopefully one would gain survival experience before depending on equipment to stay alive. Don't be afraid to try new things, no matter what type of person or what style of player you are. Feelings are not meant to be hurt playing a video game - so enjoy the game as it is intended and all of its aspects. Be selfish. Don't live in fear of failure. Failure in the game to me means, "res up" and try it again! Never give up! I don't know of the word "quit" anymore. Tactical excellence falls under the experience category. Experience is gained by experimenting. Never be afraid to experiment. I'd encourage all to get out and experience all different aspects of the game, and have as much fun as they can. Any last words or thoughts? You really think my last words will be the last? I am Pan Arcane, a raging narcissist.

Grand Opening: A Blind Man’s Outlet, Luna Location
Posted on Saturday, October 10, 2009, 11:32 AM EDT by Andrasta (Atlantic)
ATLANTIC—One of Atlantic’s enduring establishments will soon be returning to the city of Luna. A Blind Man’s Outlet, founded in 2007, is known for its consistent supply of needful goods, available for purchase at affordable prices. The Outlet has sold its wares in several locations over the years, perhaps most notably at the historic Treasure Trove. After a brief period in Zento, the shop is now returning to its original plot in Luna and is scheduled to open on Sunday, 11 October 2009. In anticipation of the Outlet’s Luna re-opening, I sat down with the Outlet’s proprietor, A Blind Man, a.k.a. Static, to learn more about his establishment. A Blind Man took a break from UO in late 2008. My first question to him was, “What brought you back?” “What would my customers DO without ME?” he joked. Like many former players, A Blind Man found it difficult to forget about UO. “I would be at work and would think about UO,” he recalled. “I just said, enough is enough. I started back up my account and within 24 hours and [with] help from some VERY good friends, I was able to start ‘The Outlet’ again!” Although the Outlet has appeared in several different locations, it has managed to garner a loyal customer base. I wanted to know, “What makes the Outlet stand out above the others?” “Consistency,” said A Blind Man. “Simple as that. EVERY week I have the same items, the same prices, and usually the same location. UO Players demand that – they love finding their goods at a reasonable price.” Most Atlantians know A Blind Man for his business ventures, but others remember him for his more devious exploits: a few of his adventurers as a professional pickpocket are published on UOThief.com. I asked A Blind Man if he had any plans to return to the shadowed alleyways of Britannia. “Well, the story is kind of ridiculous. I played with the great Chad Sexington and Tony Emerald on Siege and Atlantic, and I posted a few stories and loved it. But real issues kept me from focusing my attention on it.” In light of real-life concerns, he was unable to continue with THIEF. Instead, he decided to try his hand as a full-time merchant. “I jumped ship and developed my personality, ‘A Blind Man,’ who actually has no crafting or merchant ability. I happened to have another great character named ‘Static’ [his merchant], who is the one that makes my UO dream possible.” Upon his return to UO, A Blind Man acquired a Zento house and resumed business as usual, but when the opportunity arose to purchase his original vendor plot in Luna, he jumped at the chance. “While I love Treasure Trove and Zento Island, I felt that I was only serving a certain percent of Atlantic Players,” he said. “I felt that Luna having a bad reputation on prices would assist me in the market. I check a lot of other vendors every day to make sure my prices are consistent and are meeting or below market average.” Luna vendor rentals are in high demand, due to their convenient location. I asked A Blind Man if he planned to rent vendor spots. “I do and they’re free! Free in Luna? No tax? Nothing? Only a few spots, though. Get them while they last!” Concluding our interview, I asked A Blind Man if he had any last remarks. “Simple as this, I love UO. With all of its quirks, ups and downs, player hardships and friendships – with all of its confusing, elaborate tasks and demands of daily attention – I love UO,” he said. “2D/SA/KR/3rd Dawn, whatever you call it, however you package it, market it, you can’t go to any other game and get the same feeling.” A Blind Man wished to add the following thank-you. “EA/Mythic Dev Team – While I grind my teeth on certain days because of you guys, I want to thank you guys for standing by us and keeping this great thing, we call UO, alive. You guys don’t get the kudos from players a lot, so if you read this, thank you!” A Blind Man is a full-time Sherriff’s Deputy and “Closet Nerd.” He has been playing UO since 1999. His vendor shop, A Blind Man’s Outlet, will open in Luna on Sunday. Directions to the new venture can be found on the Atlantic Forum under the News Post of the same name. Make sure you have completed the quest to enter on the character you will be spawning with! All are invited to this Primeval Lich spawn. HOT will not be killing any blues and attempt to dispatch with disruptive thieves and murderers. HOT/HEAT will be resurrecting and providing supplies to those who die. You can also complete the quest that requires slaying Dream Wraiths which are only found here. Public Harrower Saturday, October 10 6:00PM Eastern Gates provided from Lord British's Castle Throne Room All are invited to this public Harrower. HOT will not be killing any blues and attempt to dispatch with disruptive thieves and murderers. HOT/HEAT will be resurrecting and providing supplies to those who die. Private Harrower Sunday, October 11 5 or 6:00PM Eastern (depending on situation) At this Harrower we will be killing everyone who attempts to show up. All factions and other enemy guilds are encouraged to attend. Be sure to message former UO players and get them to come. Remember that they can login during the Return to Britannia promotion. I would like to see 100+ people battling it out. If there is a good turn out we may spawn a second later on in the evening. *General Advice* - Place all non-essential items in your bank/house - This includes rarely used insured items so you save money - Make sure you have enough insurance for at least 10 deaths - If you get a replica/artifact, be sure to insure it right away - If you get a good scroll don't announce it, either eat it or get out of there as quickly as possible - Standing still is how thieves steal your items - If you are attacked for any reason, focus on healing yourself while others take out the attacker Courtesy of the HOT Guild Submitted by JC The Builder

Every week at an evening about 8pm UK Time (9pm CEST) a screenshot will be posted within this thread. All you've to do is to identify the location on the screenshot and move yourself to this spot. Flinx will be waiting there for you and give you one task to fulfill. The fastest three chars will gain 10, 5 and 2 points. At the end of the three month the top ranking chars will get a prize. And probably there will be a small prize some single weeks also. But all in all it should be for fun. And for the fame ;-) You can start training right now while riding along the world and memorize all the interesting places. It would also be wise to have a rune to an excellent rune library at hand. And not to forget the tasks! Some you can fulfill on your own. For others you need the help of other players. So find out now, which players have which capabilities and get a good standing with them, so you can ask a favor in time. What you don't need: * Fighting! - At least for tough monsters. * Gold - Some tasks will cost a bit, but no one will get bankrupt over them. The first screenshot will be posted on Tuesday the 13th October at 8:15pm UK Time, 9:15pm CEST. Be prepared!

Report from Skara Brae Trade Meeting on Thursday
Posted on Thursday, October 8, 2009, 11:35 PM EDT by Mapper (Europa)
7pm had arrived and in attendance at the meeting in Skara Brae were 21 traders from all over the lands ready to hear what Kingsley had to say. Kingsley started the meeting a little after 7:15. Kingsley: "The main objectives of tonight was to get traders to know each other" "So what I want is for you all to meet each other, and learn that we are all traders here" A 'Get to know you' session was started, with each trader stating their name and what shops they run. Half way through, A Revenant wondered in asking for a trader who sold potions, Many hands went up! Discussion went onto prices briefly, then to events, It was agreed to hold a 'Europa Traders & Crafters Market' at some point in the future. Lord Ulysess stepped up "If this is truly going to work we are going to need some serious unity and coorperation." Mession agreed to help setup a private forum for traders to meet and plan future events. At the end of the meeting runebooks were given out for traders to place their shop runes, Copies will be available at all good rune libraries. The meeting disbanded at 8:20pm with promise of further discussion regarding the market event.

A Fracas in the Streets of Britain!
Posted on Thursday, October 8, 2009, 11:01 PM EDT by Cymidei Fier (Baja)
This report comes from Xanthe the Minter of the West Bank of Britain…. I saw it with my own eyes. A foul creature as if from the spawn of the Abyss itself. Small and feeble in size, but with a tenacious and forceful will, seemingly obsessed with creating havoc and mayhem in the streets. It moved with incredible speed, and those who attempted to engage it in combat were left swinging their weapons foolishly at mere thin air! I heard several citizens and town guards refer to the creature as, “The Yattering”, whatever that may be? Nevertheless, it was unwavering in its relentless assault. I heard cries of pain from several citizens as The Yattering sunk his sharp jagged teeth into the knees of several unsuspecting passersby. While peaking through the windows of the bank, I witnessed a young boy who complained about his fruit market stand being upturned. I heard screeching coming from an elf’s tamed battle chickens as The Yattering darted this way, and then that way, confusing his pursuers at every turn. A short time later, I even heard cries inside the bank itself when The Yattering burst through the doors, tripping Gargan and toppling him over a nearby chair sending him sprawling. The Yattering continued knocking over tables and throwing deposit ledgers and important documents everywhere, even tearing some to shreds! Next, it savagely pulled a beautiful painting down from the wall, smashing it over someone’ head, all the while emitting a chilling scream, hissing with overt venom at anyone, and everything, in its path. Later that evening while visiting the Cat’s Lair tavern for a nightcap and pint of ale, I inquired with Jeremy the Barkeep as to what he knew of the background of The Yattering, if anything at all. His face contorted into something unpleasant as he groaned noticeably. He explained to me what he recalled from stories previously told by his patrons. “The Yattering is a haunt, or poltergeist, you might even say… A complete nuisance and pest to the unfortunate people it chooses to target. Be ever wary of The Yattering and its cunning nature”, he spoke with a hardened look upon his face. How The Yattering can be forever banished back into the Abyss, he couldn’t even begin to fathom and quickly steered the conversation in another direction by offering me a second pint of ale, free of charge.

Journey to the Harrower!
Posted on Thursday, October 8, 2009, 9:28 PM EDT by Morpheus Mardox (Chesapeake)
It's not everyday one can enter the realm of perhaps the most ferocious beast this world has to offer. Such was the case last eve as I hastily decided to accept an invite to travel to the lands of Felucca. Gathering my armours I journied to the dungeons depths en route to the star room to meet my guides for the evenings fun, the UhOh guild. Placing the skulls upon the temple the infamous black gate came to life as our group moved into the darkenss appearing somewhere within the great Terathean Keep. Our search for the one and only Harrower had begun. Arriving near the north walls of the second level , we found ourselves face to face with the shards ultimate champion. Expecting visitors, UhOh dug in for the long haul as exits were soon manned and fielded with precision as the party engaged the evil being. The sights and sounds of the nights battle still fresh in my mind, I recall the massive dragons and mages afoot casting furiously into the evil one's direction. Even a newfound Vollem was out for action this eve lending its might along the way. Just as the objective and the path to its defeat seemed clear the call rang out of invaders in the corridors to the east. FoA had arrived with minimal forces to attempt to thwart the efforts of UhOh. A giant Colossus was unleashed upon the unsuspecting invaders forcing thier retreat from which they came. Dealing deadly blows UhOh bested the invaders in short work with the battle reaching the home of the Legendary Mephistis. Here I got a death robe of my own! With the invaders quelled the attention soon turned back to the evil ones demise. a long lenghty battle ensued with UhOh eventually slaying the beast. As always the battle rages on in the lands of Felucca. Thanks to the UhOh Guild for the invite and grand time witnessing the carnage. A hearty well fought to the brigands of FoA for making it interesting. Great night!

Her Path to the Throne | ||
Posted on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 9:16 PM EDT by Martyna Zmuir (GreatLakes)
Long before the defeat of the Shadowlords deep beneath the Isle of Fire, Lady Dawn was considered a Hero of the Realm. During the struggles against the Juka she helped turn the tide of war and befriend the Meer. Later, she gained even greater fame for striking the killing blow on the traitorous half-machine Lord Blackthorn. After many years enjoying a happily quiet married life on the outskirts Yew, circumstances forced Dawn to return to public service. The villainous Casca ordered her murder based on the prediction she would lead Britannia against his dark masters. His first attempt in Yew failed, and drew the attention of many toward Dawn - including the benevolent Platinum Dragons. Fortunately, subsequent attempts on Dawn's life were also failures as Virtuous citizens banded together to defeat Casca's evil schemes. The Resistance quickly focused on Dawn, seeing her as an ideal symbol of what Britannia had lost. During a meeting with the Platinum Dragon called Fayaxion, it was agreed that Dawn would lead the combined forces of Virtue in the escalating war against the Shadowlords. Four major battles were fought against the Shadow Army with Lady Dawn as Commander. The first being the defense of Luna from a grueling week-long siege that threatened to destroy the city. Skara Brae also came under attack during this period, as the Shadowlords attempted to split Britannia's forces. They failed. Later, Lady Dawn led her army to Felucca to aid the Platinums in defeating the malevolent Crimson Dragons who had allied with the Shadowlords. Again the day was won, Virtue having triumphed over evil. The next day, Dawn took the battle directly to the Shadowlords during their attempt to form a new Gem of Immortality. One by one they fell, freeing Sosaria. Wishing to destroy the Ruby Gem (which would have been transfigured into a new Gem of Immortality) Dawn had a blackrock mallet and chisel fashioned. Unfortunately, the last of the Enforcers managed to steal the tools and go into hiding in the last of Casca's secret prisons. A large group of loyal citizens found the prison located deep underground. Fighting their way through the Enforcers still loyal to the deposed Cascan Regime, they finally located the mallet and chisel on the corpse of Enforcer Xavier. As a bonus, the disgraced Captain of the Royal Guard, Tomas Savos, was located and freed from the inhuman conditions of the hidden prison. Presented with the mallet and chisel, Lady Dawn chose Blackthorn's Keep as the site for the gem's destruction. As her arm poised to strike the hateful ruby, the traitorous Casca appeared claiming he was bound to the gem. Ignoring the despot as he pled for his pitiful life, Dawn brought the mallet down smashing the last of the Shadowlord's threat to Britannia. Casca fell to the ground lifeless and cheer echoed throughout the Keep. After Sherry the Mouse announced that Lady Dawn would be crowned Queen of Britannia due to 'the common consent of her people,' Dawn sent a missive to Queen Zhah of the newly discovered Ter Mur to open diplomatic relations. While plans for a grand coronation ceremony commenced, Queen Dawn stepped up to lead her people into a bright future. When the two Queens met in the throne room of Castle British, they spoke of common goals for their peoples. To further such cooperation, communication and trade, the Britannian moongate system now has a convenient portal to the gargoyle homeland. May the Kingdom of Britannia and the Kingdom of Ter Mur enjoy a long, rich and rewarding relationship! Sadly, however, there are those whose unbalanced minds see such a relationship as a dreadful thing. A racist group calling themselves the 'Brotherhood of Valor' seeks to make Britannia human-only, seeing all other sentient races as beneath contempt. (More on them in future articles…) The Coronation of Lady Dawn is scheduled for this Friday, October 9th, at 8pm under the Central Skies at Castle British. There will be several speeches delivered to commemorate the occasion, as well as a celebratory net toss sponsored by the Fishing Council of Britannia afterwards. Please attend and pay your respects to our new reigning Queen!

MIASMA | ||
Posted on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 8:41 PM EDT by Cear Dallben Dragon (Atlantic)
MIASMA In her new Role as Queen, Dawn has been reviewing all the papers that were left behind from the evil Casca, of all the documents she has read the worst has to be a book entitled The Miasma Recipe written by Caut ; much of this tome was ruined , most of the pages had turned green; Only the following passages could be read: This recipe will turn the air a heavy green, and will cause anyone breathing the air to become violently ill; those with lesser constitutions may even die a slow painful death.On the last page is written:Copies of recipe have been hidden in several dungeons. The scrolls the recipe have been written on were treated with acid and if a person attempts to copy the scroll the acid will be transferred by the scribe’s fingers ruining the new parchment.In the margin of the book in Casca’s handwriting, is scribbled “send Echo the guard to get Caut.” Dawn fears that one of Casca’s former guards could find the recipe and cause terror throughout the land. She has asked Avery to lead this investigation to try and determine where the recipe is hidden and to then secure the recipe so that it may be destroyed.Avery was able to find this former guard Echo and after interrogation learned the locations Caut claimed to have hidden the scrolls. Casca had been planning an expedition to recover the recipe, but perished before he had the chance. Avery believes that the recipe scrolls must be recovered soon or they may be recovered by member of Casca’s old guard. Avery requests that the Royal Assemble to assist in the recovery of these recipe scrolls. Avery will lead four expeditions to recover the scrolls please assemble in the festival fields north of the Britain Moongate in trammel at the following dates and times: Friday October 9th at 3:00 PM EST Friday October 9th at 8:00 PM EST Saturday October 10th 8:00 PM EST Sunday October 11th 10:00 AM EST

Brit Bank Has A New Look !
Posted on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, 1:15 PM EDT by Lady Lava (GreatLakes)
. . Brit Bank Has A New Look ! That is right folks......Brit Bank has had a makeover. Even the arcane circle is a new color, green! For all those Spellweavers the Brit Bank has been a daily visit to get that extra 6 point focus. Now they can get it in a green way. The topic on everyones tongues was/is, " How do you like it ?" Many enjoy the new benches, easy access to the roof and the general greening warm-up of the area. Do I like the new look ? Yes I do like the new look but do I love it?.... No. I am always for change and happy to see this as I too have a spellweaver, two actually and go to the Brit Bank often, though Luna is my home. Of course if we were each re-doing the bank area we would each do it differently. The one thing that seems very out of place is the marble fountain just plopped with no transition to it nor around it. Merry Mo enjoys a rest on one of the benches at the Brit Bank A perfect setting for a autumn picnic and people watching

A Day In The Life And Death Of Cear Dallben:
Ultima Online, a persistent world. One with depth and endless possibility. I woke up yesterday morning. it was 10am. My day off. It was raining outside. Objective one, Crafting. With the help of more civilized gargoyles I have learned to craft To the Prism of Light! The day was growing dark, and the horrors were just beginning to come out of the shadows. There was only one thing left on my list... We slew his minions and at last, and he was forced to show himself, and back his claims.
What a world we live in. Where friends and enemies can be made every day, battles are won and lost, and anything is possible.

Hunting The Past | ||

Hunting The Past By EMPallando You hurry past the west bank, an urgent errand consuming your thoughts, and almost do not notice the town crier busying himself at the bank door. You are torn for only a moment before your curiosity, and that of a few others, draws you to huddle around the long, smoothly written parchment newly tacked up for the masses. Hail friends and fellow citizens, After some deliberation, it is the will of the people and in turn is my will as well, that as Queen, I declare the former Lord Emissary, Trubo Saius, a criminal and fugitive wanted for questioning by the Crown, suspect to the murder of a castle servant and assassination of the late Captain of the Guard, Aino Nystad. Members of the Royal Protectorate as well as the entirety of the Town Guard will be placed on high alert until further notice, and are ordered to report any sightings, suspicious acitivity, or new information immediately to their superior officer. Citizens venturing outside the cities are advised to report any sightings as well, and to not pursue the fugitive on your own, as he is considered dangerous and possibly deranged. My friends, please accept all of my assurances that Trubo Saius will be found. Orders are to bring Saius in alive, if possible, for trial and questioning. I humbly ask the same of my allies and enemies outside of the cities to please show the same restraint. Any citizens or soldiers of measurable might that wish to aid in the investigation may speak to Sergeant Raynier of the Royal Guard inside Castle Blackthorn. Should you discover any information, please dispatch a messenger directly to me, Queen Dawn, as soon as possible. Your eyes finished with the notice, you are hardly able to consider it before you notice a second, though much smaller, parchment tacked next to larger one. By the highest authority, the now missing former merchant and Trade Councillor Lord Gideon, is wanted by the crown on charges of bribery, extortion, conspiracy, tax evasion, petty theft, theft of a trading vessel, kidnapping, robbery of the local guild (reported by authorities in Vesper), two counts of assault on a Royal Guard, and one possible count of murder against a dock worker. Citizens are hereby warned that Gideon is a known and accomplished fencer and swindler , and has been sighted in the company of his supporters and several bodyguard. All of his assets have been repossessed and accounts frozen by the Crown until such time as he can be captured. Any citizen with information pertaining to the whereabouts of Gideon or if you have seen him, please inform the authorities as soon as possible. (This is an ongoing event ending next Monday, Oct. 12th. E-mail your reports to Seppo and myself. Be advised that IF Trubo’s hideout is discovered, the final confrontation will NOT be taking place unless enough players confirm and report the location, or at the very least, their best guesses. Any issues with the event (oracles, etc) should be e-mailed to Seppo and Pallando ASAP)

An Interview With Event Moderator Nestor
Posted on Saturday, October 3, 2009, 7:04 PM EDT by Nh'bdy (Atlantic)
-The follow conversation transpires in the Star Room- Nh'bdy : Good evening EM Nestor! EM Nestor : Good evening. Nhbdy : I'm glad I could finally track you down, it's a pleasure to be here with you. EM Nestor : the pleasure is mine Nh'bdy : A nice location you've selected, before I let the questions fly, anything you'd like to say? EM Nestor : I look forward to this month EM Nestor : plenty of fun events Nh'bdy : A fantastic starting point! Any hints or spoilers you'd like to drop while you have the people's ears? Er..or eyes, as it were. EM Nestor : Well, there is a holiday this month. EM Nestor : I would keep the weekend of the 9th clear EM Nestor : and daylight saving time will soon be here EM Nestor : something special for daylight saving time Nh'bdy : What brought you to the EM Program? EM Nestor : Well I had been playing for many years 11 I think now EM Nestor : and as a player the game was a bit boring EM Nestor : but this allows me to do different things EM Nestor : and add content for others Nh'bdy : Your content seems to be particularly classy, with the Fire Flies and the Fishing Contest, any paticular goals you'd like to fulfill? EM Nestor : The main goal is to have events that add fun EM Nestor : this is entertainment EM Nestor : I do hope the event I lead lend to lore Nh'bdy : Speaking of lore, we recently saw a large addition to our realm, any opinions on The Abyss? EM Nestor : I wasn't very excited at first, but I love it now EM Nestor : I have upgraded all my accounts EM Nestor : I think it added a lot of the everyday danger, something we had lost Nh'bdy : Danger could be considered somewhat lacking with the loss of the Shadow Lords, any plans to resolve this? EM Nestor : I think the next Global Event Arc should address that. Nh'bdy : Ooh fantastic! Nhbdy : You seem concerned and well versed in the lore of the realm, any particular characters you take a shine too? EM Nestor : I was very glad to see Dawn again EM Nestor : I so remember getting the comic with the expansion EM Nestor : was a great story Nh'bdy smiles EM Nestor : I have my figure at my desk at work EM Nestor : Probably why I never get promoted Nh'bdy : Hah! My Blackthorn looms over my desk EM Nestor laughs Nh'bdy : What about virtues? Do you subscribe to the British way of thinking? If so, what virtues do you claim? EM Nestor : The trouble I have with the virtues is that every seems to be on the same side EM Nestor : not much fun in that EM Nestor : We need an under current Nh'bdy : Ahh! An interesting question that leads me with little rebuttal other than this, Nh'bdy : Order of Chaos?! EM Nestor : I like chaos EM Nestor : Chaos is energy EM Nestor : Life needs conflict EM Nestor : Games need conflict EM Nestor : Event Shoots and Ladders has some danger Nh'bdy : An enlightening step into an Event Moderator's mind! Nh'bdy : How has working with your partner Eris been? EM Nestor : I think we make a great team EM Nestor : Eris is very solid on the RP side EM Nestor : that is my weak area Nh'bdy : It's sometimes confusing to see you switch between Event Moderator and Lore characters. Nh'bdy : Any characters you've enjoyed playing as of late? EM Nestor : I had fun the other night EM Nestor : Got to play a senile man EM Nestor : The role was not a stretch Nh'bdy cracks a grin EM Nestor : It's always fun to play heros EM Nestor : Dawn and Avery Nh'bdy : Dawn has certainly come into her own as a character Em Nestor : Yes she is very strong Nh'bdy : We also saw the introduction of the gargoyle queen as a character- EM Nestor : That may cause issues later Nh'bdy : Ooh!? Care to expound? EM Nestor : Well, as a queen, the best thing for the kingdom might not always be the most virtuous EM Nestor : Heroes do not always make the best leaders Nh'bdy : Sounds like we have not only a full month but a full season ahead of us Nh'bdy : I only have one question remaining and it is in regards to your lantern. Nh'bdy : Trapped Fire Flies, a light source with a tale or a snazzy little hand filler? EM Nestor : When I was young, 6-7, I would catch fireflies in a jar. I was thinking of that when I made the item. Nh'bdy : A heartwarming and humanizing moment to close on, unless you have anything else to add? EM Nestor : Thank you so much for all that you do. EM Nestor : The Reporting is Top Notch Nh'bdy : I simply do my best to follow the Event Moderators. Nh'bdy : Thank you for the interview! After a gracious moongate back to the safety of Britain, Nestor promptly exploded into fire and disappeared.

Gravewater Shores/UG.K Memorial Bookcase
Posted on Friday, October 2, 2009, 10:05 PM EDT by WarderDragon (Baja)
A new section was added this evening to the Dawn Royal Library and Outpost in Malas: The Gravewater Shores/UG.K Memorial Bookcase. The Underground Knights [UG.K] is a community-oriented guild, whose player-run city, Gravewater Shores, once took up the entire western coastline of Gravewater Lake. It was a massive city, rivaling even the Kingdom of Dawn and New Grimswind in size and scope. Buildings from the original town can still be found dotting the coastline. The Memorial Bookcase is made up of books and items that were discovered in a crumbling building by Sara [SI]. They were eventually passed on to Grand Duchess Wildstar [DWN], who chose to put these pieces on display in memorial of the player-run town and its inhabitants. The Dawn Library and Outpost can be found on the western road just outside of the City of Umbra. It is the first building west of Lord & Lady Courages Museum. Go take a look.

Tomas has been officially pardoned by Dawn, as with the others who were jailed by Casca, so the Trial is mostly Symbolic. The Kingdom of Dawn Gets New Establishment Review
Posted on Thursday, October 1, 2009, 9:46 AM EDT by Cymidei Fier (Baja)
By Viola Starr and Mystic Rose, Aspiring Reporters The Kingdom of Dawn has a brand new establishment review! For the full article complete with full picture tour check here.Our grand adventure into the largest, and one of the oldest, player-run community on Baja, began by meeting up with our gracious host, Grand Duchess Wildstar. Wildstar explained that the Kingdom of Dawn began as a small guild known as the “Guardians of Virtue” back in the early days of the game. The Guardians of Virtue guild grew into a community, and in 1999, became officially known as the Kingdom of Dawn. Role players of all types have made the Kingdom of Dawn their home. From saints to murders, all were welcome. This spirit of welcome continues to today, the Kingdom of Dawn’s dedication to role play and its preservation of its unique history embodies the very soul and spirit of Ultima Online itself. The Kingdom of Dawn can be located in the lands wrapped around the dungeon Wrong in Felucca. Most of the Kindgom is east of the dungeon, but some new additions west of the dungeon have enlarged the borders of Dawn until it nearly surrounds the entire mountain range. Dawn is made up of diverse buildings, from the smallest of the classic buildings to the classic keep, to custom buildings with very creative designs. Some of these buildings are grandfathered, and could never be replaced in their current formations. Each building in Dawn is ingeniously decorated to enhance its function, most containing rare items, artifacts, and objects with a unique history. Much of the kingdom in its current state was decorated by the Grand Duchess Wildstar, whose designs are the definition of creativity. One could spend many hours exploring the many interesting corners of Dawn, without seeing everything there is to see. Some of the highlights of our tour included the Dawn Museum of Dreams, the Dawn Tower, the Royal Palace, the Orc Furt, and Dawn Library and Merchant Hall.
