| Normally found only in the deepest waters of Brittania, these large serpentine creatures are the bane of fisherfolk. Studies by the Royal Brittania Zoo have established that these monstrous beasts are attracted to fishing lures and surface only to prey on fisherfolk who disturb their waters. Fortunately, most of the sea-going vessels sold at your local shipyard can outrun these beasts. In addition, because their scales are unaccustomed to light, these ancient serpents prefer not to stay at the surface and will return to the depths after a brief period if they are not engaged. Every time you successfully fish up a treasure map or SOS bottle a sea serpent will surface and attack. The treasure map or SOS bottle will be on the serpents corpse. Sea serpents that are pulled up through normal fishing that did not result in a treasure map or SOS bottle will not have these items on them.
