UO Stratics - Hunter's Guide - Chicken
The Chicken

General Information

This is your normal everyday chicken, they walk around eating grain from the ground and the most used source of eggs, just after Vorpal Bunnies.

Rumor has it that there is a breed of super chikens that are far stronger than the normal ones. They supposedly spawn along with the normal ones and look exactly like them.

Greater Chickens Rule
Submitted by Anonymous on August 10th 2008.
In response to an earlier comment, magic resist is not capped at 25%. I have a greater chicken with almost 70% resist and its still climbing. Gained from 110-115 vet while training the GC on various other tamed animals (gotta be guilded)

Super Chicken

I am a "Chicken tamer" I can attest to the fact that you can train a chicken to be more that a good meal. There are a few stats that each chicken starts with and you can not get higher than these. The most important is Physcial resist. This can be between 1% and 10%. No Higher!

every otehr stat is the same before you tame them. ZThey also have a cap at 25% MAagic resist. You can get a small bit higher with this stat but not more than .3. My chicken at the moment is:
Hits= 21
Stamina= 22
Strength= 23
Dextr= 22
Intel= 25
Mana= 20 (I dont know what this is good for on a chicken)

His skills are:
Wrestling= 76.0
Tatics= 73.3
Magic Resist= 25.3
Anatomy= 85.5

He can kill:
Great Heart, Bull, Brown Bear, Ice Spider.....

These are fun for Player run events like eagle and chicken contests.

I sudgest that if you want a "Super Chicken", tame one with 10% Ph Resist adn start traning him/her on sheep. move to cows, then hinds, then lamas, then great hinds, then white wolfs, then Bulls.

It can be fun but the events are really worth it.

Good Luck and Be Safe

2nd Witness: They Do Exist
Submitted by Anonymous on July 17th 2005.
A Friend of mine met my character on a bridge, and I noticed he was followed by a bonded chicken. Naturally, I asked, and he replied: "Dude, Haven't you seen my chicken? It's a Dragon Killer!" He promptly demonstrated, and yes, the chicken flattened an ogre, only losing 1/6 of its HP bar (apparently has 100hp, gm wrestling, gm tactics, etc... He's been training it a while)... I'm a believer.

Sorry, not anymore

After extensive research, we at Chicken Fight Club are saying, "No, no chicken has more than 10% physical resist."

They do exist!!!
Submitted by Anonymous on December 26th 2004.
Super chickens do, in fact, exist. After hearing a rumor about them, I used my 110 animal lore to see if this was just a rumor. I found chickens with 12-13 HP, resists as high as 11%, and some with 15 to wrestling, tactics, and anatomy. Attempting to obtain pictures.
