UO Stratics - Hunter's Guide - Unicorn
The Unicorn

General Information

Without a doubt this is *the* fantasy animal. Only females can tame and ride Unicorns. Males can not tame or ride Unicorns, but can have them transferred. Mana and hit points appear to be similar to that of a Ki-Rin (300-330 hit points and about 200 mana) When wild, they will attack ANY creature with negative karma, including humans and tamed pets. When tamed, they will not attack humans or tamed creatures, but will attack anything else with negative karma.

Like the Kirin, the Unicorn has a special ability to help it's master when in trouble. If the rider becomes poisoned and their health drops below a certain point(40HP), the Unicorn will attempt to cast cure on them using it's magery skill. Once it succesfully cures the rider it cannot attempt to cure them for another hour.
In addition to this the Unicorn is also completely immune to poison.

Originally the Unicorns special ability was to open a gate to safety for it's rider, but due to some problems with that ability and the no gate/recall nature of Ilshenar, it was changed to the poison immunity and curing ability.

Click here to see the stats and skills of this creature if it spawns as a Paragon in Ilshenar.

I Ride These Things With All My Girl Tamers When Even 6x Gm Skills THey're Great I Usually Bring Them To Yomotsu Mines When They Are About 6x Gm And Use Them To Fend Off The Yomotsu Warriors And That While I Tame Fire Beetles U Have To Heal Them A Few Times But They Are Great Pets But I Still Miss The Way They Used To Look They Should Go Back To Looking Like They USed To I Prefer These Even Over Cu's And Nightmares...

Paragon Killers

Hands down the best way to kill Paragon Poison elementals. You need to vet or mage heal A LOT to keep them alive, but it's entirely worth it.

Old look

I miss the old look of these. They looked absolutely marvelous with a pure white wyrm fighting by its side. The only reason I use to ride these is because they looked so cool.

I tried to tame one as a Gm in taming and cause I was a Necro with no Karma it killed me

Mostly I prefer unicorn than nightmare. It's cool, look at the beauty. And with its poison immunity a 7xgm unicorn really rocks.

unicorn truley is by far my favorite fantasy animal! its also my favorite animal in the game. if trained propery it can be used to kill many of things. ive actually had my unicorn save me many of times. like when people lure the elder gazers out and you recall in there to see if anyones there and you die. my unicorn has actually cured me before i died and also it has killed the elder that got me. they can be very helpful and are truly a powerful creature to this game. but i prefer their old look compared to the newer one. the whole ice white horse was very very attractive looking and went better with most themes. but you can adjust and make this newer version look good too.

Weak but...

They´re weak, but if you use 4 training they could be great! Use some bracelets and some rings and bring your taming to 95.1 so start taming, while u keep trying your taming grows up.. very easy
